KUPWARA, SEPTEMBER 24:  District Election Officer (DEO) Kupwara, Khalid Jahangir, today convened a meeting of Returning Officers and Assistant Returning Officers to review the arrangements put in place for smooth conduct of ensuing Municipal Elections in the district.
The meeting was attended by SSP Kupwara, Sriram Ambarkar, SSP Handwara, ADDC Kupwara, ADC Handwara, SDM Lolab, SDM Tangdar Dr Ilyas and other concerned. 
The meeting discussed threadbare the arrangements made with regard to security, establishment of Control Rooms, distribution and collection of EVMs, randomization of poll staff, transport plan, training of staff and other related issues.
On the occasion, DEO urged officers to be impartial and ensure the conduct of Municipal Elections in a smooth manner in the district.
He directed the ARTO Kupwara to prepare a transport plan for the election process and submit it to DC Office by September 25. He also said that strengthening of grassroots democracy will help the district administration in carrying forward the developmental activities in the district. 
Speaking on the occasion, both the SSPs of Kupwara and Handwara assured their full support from the security point of view to ensure free, fair and transparent election in the district.

BANDIPORA, SEPTEMBER 24: Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Bandipora, Mohammad Qasim Wani today inaugurated Measles Rubella (MR) vaccination campaign here at Iqbal Memorial School.
The objective of the campaign is to vaccinate the children in the age group of 9 months to 15 years against Measles Rubella viral disease.
On the occasion, the ADDC enjoined upon the organizers to ensure cent per cent coverage of MR vaccine immunization. He directed coordination of all departments including Education, Health, ICDS, Municipality, Rural Development and others to make the campaign a success.
Giving details about the vaccination campaign, Deputy CMO said that Rubella is an infectious, yet mild viral illness affecting both children and adults that can cause death and disabilities in the newborn if an unprotected pregnant woman gets infected with Rubella virus in early pregnancy.
Among others, BMO Bandipora, AD Fisheries besides technical staff of the Health Department were also present on the occasion.

GANDERBAL, SEPTEMBER 24: The Measles-Rubella (MR) vaccination campaign was today kick-started by Additional District Development Commissioner Ganderbal, N.A Baba, at Government Boys Higher Secondary School, Duderhama here.
ADDC was informed that teams formed by the district administration will cover private/government primary and secondary schools apart from Aanganwadis within the district wherein 1 lakh children will be vaccinated through the campaign.
On the occasion, ADDC said the district health officials are targeting to cover 100 % of the total children from 9 months to 15 years-of-age in all schools of the district, while the rest of the vaccination will be done through Anganwadi centres.
The ADDC urged parents of those children who had not taken measles vaccine in the past to participate in the vaccination drive.
CMO Ganderbal, Dr. R. D. Kasana, Deputy CMO Ganderbal Dr. Mehraj-ud-din and other concerned were present on the occasion.

POONCH, SEPTEMBER 20: Additional District Development Commissioner, Poonch, Abdul Hameed Sheikh today placed teachers under suspension for unauthorized absence from duty.
During his visit to District Institute of Education and Training, the ADDC found that some trainee teachers were absent from their duty and placed them under suspension, pending enquiry, with immediate effect.
Chief Education Officer, Poonch and senior most HOD of DIET Poonch will conduct an enquiry and submit their report within 10 days.

BANDIPORA, SEPT 18: Advisor to the Governor, B B Vyas today directed officials to ensure inclusive and grassroots level development especially in hard areas of the state.
Vyas conducted an extensive tour of Bandipora today to get first-hand appraisal of developmental projects in the area. He also chaired a review meeting of officers at the district headquarters.
The meeting was attended by District Development Commissioner Bandipora Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary, SSP Bandipora Sheikh Zulfkar Azad, ADDC Bandipora Mohammad Qasim, Chief Engineers and other District and sectoral level officers.
Advisor took sector wise review of the implementation of all developmental projects in the area and stressed on the holistic development of Bandipora district.
He directed the concerned to ramp up the pace of work on the ongoing projects so that the targets are achieved within the stipulated timeframe.
The Advisor directed the officers to undertake regular field visits of far-flung areas for redressal of issues and impressed on the officers to take monthly review meeting of their departments for monitoring the progress of various schemes and programmes for the welfare of the public.
He also stressed for giving wide publicity and creating awareness regarding various development schemes of the government of India.
The Advisor emphasized the need for exploring scope in Agricultural and Horticultural sectors through expert intervention by the concerned departments towards ensuring better dividends to people of the Gurez associated with these sectors.
          He also directed the Beacon authorities to accelerate the pace of work, so that the blacktopping of the roads will be completed by the end of November.
The advisor appreciated the efforts of the district administration for satisfactory achievements in different sectors.
He assured every possible support of the government in ensuring progress and prosperity of the area. He emphasized upon strengthening the accountability and transparency in administration.
Earlier, DDC briefed the Advisor about the status of various developmental activities being undertaken by different executing agencies in the area. He also presented a detailed account of achievements in various other sectors including Health, Education, Agriculture etc.
DDC Bandipora also projected various demands and sought the support of the government in carrying out developmental works in different areas of the district.
Earlier Advisor visited under construction district hospital where he inspected the on-going work and took a detailed review of the project. He was informed by CMO Bandipora that the hundred bedded district hospital is being constructed at the estimated cost of Rs 2825 core out of which 90 per cent funds have been utilized and will be completed by December this year.
CMO informed the Advisor about the health scenario, facilities available in the context of difficult terrain of Gurez and Tulail and requested for augmentation of men and machinery for catering to the needs of the area. 
Advisor also visited Nalla Madumati and took a review of developmental projects under execution. He was informed by the EXen PHE that the embankment process at the project cost of Rs 134 core is under process and ninety per cent of the project has been completed and will be accomplished within the stipulated time frame. 
Later, Advisor also met various deputations from the areas of Gurez, Sumbal, Hajin and   Bandipora town, who apprised him of their problems and sought their redressal.
People sought the intervention of the Advisor in further strengthening the health care infrastructure facilities in their areas, besides expediting the construction of a tunnel from Bandipora to Gurez for round the year connectivity of the area.
The delegations also raised the issue of macadamization of roads, strengthening internet connectivity in Gurez and Tulail.
The delegations from Bandipora town also raised the demand of construction of bypass road from Bandipora to Pothu Shahi, installation of street lights in the town, demarcation and construction of new bus stand for better traffic management in the district besides timely completion of Bandipora Lolab road. 
En route the Advisor also met a number of deputations which projected several demands related to their area and sought their early redressal. The advisor assured them that administration has been directed to ensure speedy redressal of all grievances of public on priority and with promptness.

 KUPWARA SEPTEMBER 18: National Bank of Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD), today organized a workshop at Kupwara on Dairy Entrepreneurship Development Scheme (DEDS) and other Centrally Sponsored Schemes promoted by NABARD as a Nodal agency in district Kupwara. 
          Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Kupwara, Mohammad Yousuf Mir chaired the workshop which was attended by JD Planning Imtiyaz Ahmad, DDM NABARD Zubair Wasil, Chief Animal Husbandry Officer Kupwara, officials from Sheep Husbandry, Cooperative Department, KVK, LDM, NRLM Officials, Bankers, NGOs and Progressive Dairy Farmers of the District.
          ADDC on the occasion advised animal and sheep husbandry departments to provide all support and cooperation in implementation of the scheme in the district.
           He also advised the banks to provide timely sanction of the cases under the scheme, so that maximum beneficiaries will be covered under GOI Schemes. The ADDC stressed on regular conduct of awareness camps on village level and block level in the district so that the people are fully aware of all the schemes. 
   While giving presentation, DDM NABARD apprised about the benefits of the scheme and the contribution of diary sector to the cause of doubling of farmer income by 2022, especially for small and marginal farmers who constitute almost 85% of the farming community in the district. He also applauded the bankers and Animal Husbandry department for their efforts during 2017-18 in sponsoring and disbursing the maximum number of cases during the period.
          The sale and features of the current DEDS and method of online claim was discussed in detail. He said beneficiaries can step up dairy units ranging from 2 animals to 10 at the rate of Rupees 70000 per animal. The scheme also carries a subsidy component of 25% for general category and 33.33% for ST/SC.
          DDM said that DEDS scheme has 09 components like the establishment of dairy units, purchase of milking machine, dairy product transportation facility, cold storage facility for dairy products etc, He stressed for sponsoring and disbursement of a greater number of cases under the scheme. He suggested for better backward and forward linkages, adaptation of milk villages, strengthening of veterinary health in the district.
 JD Planning, Chief Animal Husbandry Officer and LDM besides progressive farmers also shared their thoughts and experiences on the occasion.

          KULGAM, SEPTEMBER, 18:  Deputy Commissioner Dr Shamim Ahmad Wani today launched online portal, www.publicfaithkulgam.com to facilitate citizens for online registration of grievances and redressal thereof. 
           ADDC Khawaja Nazir Ahmad, ADC Ghulam Hassan Sheikh, ACR Shahnawaz Ahmad Shah besides other district officers were present on the occasion.
              Briefing the media, Dr Wani  said that citizens could access the site using the web portal, www.publicfaithkulgam.com adding that  a team of 5 officials under the supervision of Additional DC will  be operating the online grievances registration portal to respond to the complaints promptly.
         He said a mobile - app will also be developed shortly for the purpose. He added that the idea is to bridge the gaps between administration and public and promote the interface through available technologies.
               To look after the online complaints, a control centre has also been established in the office of the deputy commissioner for effective and time-bound monitoring and disposal of complaints.

POONCH, SEPTEMBER 17: Deputy Commissioner Rahul Yadav (District Election Officer) today chaired a meeting of officers designated as Nodal Officers for different activities in the district for smooth conduct of Municipal Elections 2018.
 The meeting was attended by ADDC Abdul Hameed, ACR Mohammad B A Lone, CPO Shamoon Shakir, ACD Muktar Ahmed, CEO Municipality Gharu Ram, CDPO Jahangir Ahmed Khan, HQ Assistant/ Functional Manager DIC, AD Handloom Arshad Noomani Poonch besides other Nodal officers.
The DC took stock of the activities assigned to different Nodal officers. The activities include Plan of SVEEP activity, Law and order/ complaint redressal, Training Management, Material Management, Transport Plan, Media and Communication, Postal Ballots besides other activities of Municipal Elections. He instructed everyone to be very particular about their responsibilities.
Earlier, District Development Commissioner supervised 3rd phase of training of ROs and AROs for the upcoming Municipal Election.
During the training the ROs and AROs were sensitized about the process involved in the Municipal Election. It was informed that the date for filing Nomination form has been set from Sept 18 to Sept 25, Scrutiny will be held on September 26 and the date for withdrawal of nomination forms has been set as September 28. It was also informed that the ROs and AROs have to conduct two rounds of training for polling officers before September 28.
The DDC instructed the Election officials not to affiliate themselves with any prospective candidate and remain neutral while performing election duty. He stressed on to remain impartial not only in their conduct but also in their appearance.
The meeting was attended by Dy DEO Shashi Bala, AD Handloom Arshad Noomani, HQ Asstant/ FM DIC Waheed Ahmed, Master Trainer Principal Vijay Puri, ROs and AROs.

REASI, SEPTEMBER 15: In continuance with Prime Miniter’s 'Swachhata Hi Seva’ movement, Deputy Commissioner Reasi, Prasanna Ramaswamy G today launched the movement here at Reasi. The launching ceremony began with an oath ceremony wherein the DC along with district officials as well as the locals pledged to make the Swachhata mission successful.
After the oath-taking, all district officials took part in the cleanliness drive starting from the DC office.
The DC urged that the drive should not be limited to the day but round the year.

GANDERBAL, SEPTEMBER 15: With a vision to promote cleanliness in the entire district, Additional District Development Commissioner Ganderbal (Nodal Officer, SHS), N A Baba kick-started 'Swachta He Seva' campaign today from Mini Secretariat, DC Office Ganderbal in presence of District Panchayat Officer, Ganderbal.
During the event, various employees of the line departments and Rural Development Department were present on the occasion.  
Speaking on the occasion, the ADDC stressed upon the officers and people to keep the activities under Swachhata Hi Seva (SHS) campaign going on a daily basis from 15th Sep- 2018 to 2nd Oct-2018 and after that make it the part of daily life.
Later, the ADDC led the team around the mini-secretariat premises and cleaned up the area.
He further said the drive was launched with the special aim of maintaining sanitation in and around the public places. He said this has to be people’s movement and participation on voluntary-basis can only make this drive a success.
He said people should accord priority to clean water sources, public utility spaces and pathways.

BANDIPORA, SEPTEMBER 13: Additional District Development Commissioner Bandipora, Mohammed Qasim said the people of Bandipora should co-operate and support the initiatives of CSIR- Indian Institution of Integrative Medicine Srinagar for leveraging the benefits of commercial cultivation of aromatic plants in the district.
 He made these remarks while speaking in the daylong awareness programme on " Cultivation and Processing of High-Value Aromatic Plants" organised by CSIR-IIIM in collaboration with NGO Raazdani Herbs and Herbal Products Nadihal at mini secretariat Bandipora.
The objective of the programme was to aware the general masses about the rich biodiversity of medicinal and aromatic plants and highlight the importance of the frontline aromatic crops suitable for the cultivated and uncultivated lands in district. The programme was attended by the large number of entrepreneurs, farmers, general public and students besides the officers of various departments like KVIB, agriculture and Horticulture.
On the occasion, ADDC said that the cultivation of aromatic plants has assumed greater significance, as it has not only huge employment potential but surely a capacity to increase the income level of the society as a whole. He said that the people should come forward for developing Bandipora as a model district in the production of aromatic crops.
While speaking on the occasion, nodal officer CSIR Aromatic Mission, Dr Qazi Parvaiz said that, the aromatic crops like lavender, Rose Mary and Mentha Spp are very suitable for the topography of district and the adjoining areas to enhance the income of rural and marginalized farmers. He said that cultivation of these crops will open new opportunity for the farmers and unemployed youth for the production of aromatic oils, perfumes, insecticide-repellents, aromatherapy, food supplements and nutraceuticals industry.

BUDGAM, SEPTEMBER 11: Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Budgam, Khurshid Ahmad Sanai, today visited Imam Bara Magam and Sonpah and other areas to take stock of the Muharram arrangements.
During the visit, various public deputations met the ADDC and apprised him of various issues being confronted by them. The ADDC gave a patient hearing to them and assured that all of their genuine demands would be addressed.
Meanwhile, the locals appreciated the role of the district administration in providing the timely services to the residents including surface levelling of lanes and by-lanes, installation of high mast lights at Imam Baras, street lights and restorations of defunct ones in most of the areas from where major processions pass through during the holy month.
Later, the ADDC also chaired a meeting of officers to review the Muharram arrangements and directed the district heads of the PHE, PDD, FCS&CA, Health and Urban Development to ensure prompt delivery of essential services to the people throughout the Muharram days.
The ADDC was accompanied by SDM Beerwah and other officials of various departments.

GANDERBAL, SEPTEMBER 11: Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC), Ganderbal, N A Baba today convened a District Level RSETI's Advisory Committee (DLRAC) meeting to review the performance of Jammu Kashmir Rural Self Employment Training Institute (RSETI).
The meeting was attended by District heads of allied departments, Lead District Manager Ganderbal, Director RSETI, Manzoor Ul Hussain Hamdani and all the members of DLRAC.
Presiding over the meeting, the ADDC Ganderbal stressed upon maintaining proper records and timely filing of a detailed report of activities taken up by the JK-RSETI in the district.
Further, the meeting was informed that, from 1st April 2018 to till date, a total number of 172 candidates have been imparted training, comprising of 05 batches against a target of 360 candidates for the financial year 2018-19.

‘Swachatta He Seva’ campaign
 GANDERBAL, SEPTEMBER 07: Ahead of 'Swachatta He Seva' Campaign starting form 15th September to 2nd October, 2018, Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Ganderbal, N.A Baba, today chaired a meeting to discuss the District Action Plan of Activities under the Campaign.
During the meeting, ADDC, who is also the overall Nodal officer for the preparations, celebrations and coordinating necessary arrangements for carrying out the campaign, chalk out a draft plan for carrying out activities under Swachatta He Seva Campaign on almost daily basis from 15th September to 2nd October,2018.
Action plan was discussed with the various departments like Education, Health, Municipal Committee, Sonmarg Development Authority, Manasbal Development Authority and PHE.
ADDC stressed on maximum participation in the campaign so that sustained awareness can be generated over the fortnight period there by affecting the behavior change among the masses.
ADDC asked the Education Department to ensure participation of school children during this campaign. “Painting, drawing Competitions shall be organized in all zones of the district with the theme and message to sensitize them about the sanitation.
ADDC stressed for Mass participation of general public, Self Help Groups and school children under a country wide sanitation campaign “Swachhta He Seva" in a focused manner for sustained cleanliness in their respective areas.
The meeting was attended by CEO Wullar Manasbal Development Authority, Z.M Khan, CEO Sonamarg Development Authority, S. BANDIPORA, SEPTEMBER 06: A joint meeting of District Consultative Committee (DCC) and District Level Review Committee (DLRC) meeting of various banks and line departments was held here today to review the pace of progress registered by the banks and sponsoring agencies during current financial year till ending June.
The Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC), Mohammad Wasim Wani presided over the meeting while as Lead District Manager Bandipora, Imtiyaz Ahmad Khan was also present in the meeting.
The meeting was informed that the financial institutions operating in Bandipora district have extended a credit of Rs.116.24 crore, which include Rs.66.31 crore under priority sector and Rs.49.93crore under non priority sector during first quarter of current financial year.
It was further informed in the meeting that JK Bank alone has disbursed Rs.99.94 crore which accounts to 45 percent of the total credit disbursed by all banks operating in the district for current financial year.
Addressing the meeting, the ADDC exhorted upon the concerned Officers to work with more coordination and cooperation to achieve the target for development and eradication of unemployment. He also asked them to start a vigorous awareness campaign in rural areas regarding benefits of various centrally sponsored and state schemes.

BUDGAM, SEPTEMBER 06: Deputy Commissioner Budgam, Dr Syed Sehrish Asgar today conducted an extensive tour of Imam Bara Budgam to take stock of the arrangements put in place for hassle-free conduct of majlises and processions during the holy month of Muharram-ul-Harram.
The DC also established a control room headed by the ADDC Budgam Khurshid Ahmad Sanai.
On her visit to the Markazi Imam Bara Budgam, the DC directed the officers to ensure all the required arrangements including uninterrupted electricity and water supply to the town for hassle-free conduct of mourning processions.
The DC also directed the concerned to install new and restore all the defunct street lights around the Imam Bara ahead of beginning of the holy month.
Meanwhile, the DC also chaired a meeting of officers and took department wise stock of the arrangements being put in place for the hassle-free conduct of majlises and processions across the district.
While reacting to the demand raised during the meeting, the DC directed R&B department to expedite and ensure timely macadamizaton of roads, filling of potholes and surface leveling of all lanes and by-lanes where from Muharram processions take place.
She directed all the SDMs to visit personally to all the Imam Baras in their jurisdictions to ensure that required facilities are provided to the residents.
The meeting among others was attended by representatives of prominent Shia Anjumans including all Jammu and Kashmir Anjuman Sharie Shian Darul Mustufa and Yousf Abad Budgam, All Jammu and Kashmir Shia Association, all J&K Itihadul Muslemeen, Presidents of Auqaf Committees.
 The DC gave patient hearing to the representatives of various organizations and assured them that all their genuine issues would be resolved amicably.
Similarly the PDD authorities were directed to ensure uninterrupted power supply and timely installation of High Mast lights/ Halogen Bulbs and LEDs at all required places and besides ensuring generator sets are installed at identified locations.
Stressing on the uninterrupted water supply, the DC directed the PHE authorities to ensure facility of water tanks are provided at identified locations.
The Food Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department was directed to ensure adequate supply and prompt distribution of ration, sugar, k-oil and LPG. Stressing on the proper sanitation and hygiene, the DC directed the Municipal authorities to conduct cleanliness drives in all these areas besides ensuring regular lifting of garbage from the identified places.
The ARTO was directed to ensure special transport facilities till the conclusion of the procession on day of Aashura for the convenience of the citizens in coordination with SRTC.

ANANTNAG, SEPTEMBER 04: Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Baseer Ahmad Khan today chaired a meeting of officers here at Dak Bungalow Khanabal to review the pace and position of various developmental projects undertaken by different executing agencies in district Kulgam.
The meeting was attended by District Development Commissioner Kulgam Dr Shamim Ahmad Wani, ADDC Khawaja Nazir Ahmad, Chief engineer R&B,SEs, Exens, CPO and District and sectoral officers of District Kulgam.
On the occasion, the DDC presented a detailed account of various developmental works under different sectors through a power point presentation. He briefed the chair about the physical and financial achievements made under different schemes and flagship programmes in the district. It was given out in the meeting that out of approved Capex budget of 132.15 crore, 17.43 crore has been expended out of available amount of 24.47 crore. 
It was also given out in the meeting that under  PMGSY 13 projects are under execution  with an estimate cost of 89.91 crore with road length of 79.26 kilo meters out of which 7 projects to be completed in current fiscal.
Div Com was also briefed that out of 6 major bridges 5 are at different stages of development and one completed at cost of 3.82 crores. Further he was informed that IPD block of District hospital Kulgam is also near to completion. 
It was also added that for youth engagement programmes recently sports action plan was infuriated and district will buzz with different sports activities and for strengthening sports infrastructure 116 play fields will be developed upto ending September. 
Speaking on the occasion, Divisional Commissioner stressed for strengthening public delivery system for the overall betterment of the people. He emphasized upon all the officers to work diligently for the early completion of all the components of the projects. 
He also stressed for early mitigation of public grievances.

REASI, AUGUST 30: The District administration Reasi is soon going to conduct physical verification of Individual Household Latrines (IHHL) constructed under the Swachh Bharat Mission.
 Chairing a meeting here today, the Additional District Development Commissioner Ramesh Chander formed committees to conduct the verification. 
The ADDC instructed the committees to conduct physical verification of   at least a quarter of the total units and that too on random basis to see that IHHL units are actually constructed and are being used by the inmates. The ADDC also highlighted the relevance of this exercise with respect to the goal of declaring district Reasi as Open Defecation Free (ODF).
The committee members were advised to submit their reports by the   September 10, 2018, so that further necessary action for declaring   Reasi ODF is   taken.
