Balbir said that it is the BJP only which has real pain and concern for the weaker sections and that Narendra Modi government at the Centre recognized the contribution of most revered dalit leader Dr. B.R. Ambedkar. It has also initiated various schemes for the socio-economic upliftment of the members of these sections, who remained neglected in the schemes of the successive governments of Congress.

Jammu, Oct 04: The deportation of seven (7) Rohingyas from Assam to their native country of Myanmar is indeed a step which will have far reaching impact in the border state of Jammu & Kashmir, Jammu province in particular, which houses the population of illegal immigrants from neighbouring countries. The state unit of Bharatiya Janata Party views this development as positive and progressive.
This was stated by BJP State Spokesperson Balbir Ram Rattan, while terming the move as right decision in the right direction, although belated due to the vote bank  policy of the earlier governments of Congress and NC, who played key role in getting the settlement of illegal immigrants of foreign citizens from Burma, Bangladesh and Myanmar in different pockets of Jammu. These people have acquired identity cards, got registered as voters and even possess Aadhar Card.
The BJP had been spearheading the movement for their identification and deportation from Jammu to countries of their origin since long. The party had also sensitized the Union Home Ministry and made several representations to the central leadership for their early deportation. In this regard, a petition was also filled before High Court by one of the member of BJP Legal Cell in 2015.
There had been instances when these people were under scanner for involvement in anti-national activities. There had been apprehension that the settlement of these illegal immigrants in Jammu was a part of conspiracy to change the demography of Jammu and also serve as mean of boarding / guiding elements working against interests of the nation.
Balbir said that the Union Home Ministry has taken few important measures to set in motion the process of the deportation of illegal immigrants and the latest step in this regards is the direction to all states to carry out biometric identification of all such people settled across the country.
He said that the BJP urges upon the Governor’s administration to set in motion this process in Jammu Kashmir  on priority since Rohingyas are also a security threat in the region adding that the party condemns the role of Congress, whose senior leaders were involved in facilitating their settlement in Jammu and currently some of these are contesting their deportation in Supreme Court.
Jammu, Aug 29: It is indeed amusing that with each passing day, the lust for chair among the Congress leaders is escalating and they are day- dreaming of coming to power again, forgetting that they have been consigned to oblivion by the people of Jammu and Kashmir, like in other parts of the country.
Reacting to the recent claim of one of the senior leader & former Minister from Jammu that “Congress will form next government in State,” BJP State Spokesperson, Balbir Ram Rattan, termed it as an attempt to keep the party men together so that their cadre do not disintegrate and leave them high and dry at this stage when the Congress boat has already capsized.
Balbir Ram Rattan said that the Congress leader should read the writing on the wall and accept the ground realities instead of making extravagant claims to befool the people and own party men.
The Spokesperson said that Congress ruled for decades and it had become addicted to enjoying power and pelf. Today its leaders cannot accept the fact that their days of power are over as the people have totally rejected them.
Balbir said that it is known to one and all that Congress has been facing defeats from 2014 onwards and one after the other State has rejected it but still its leaders are still dreaming of coming back, which would remain a dream in perpetually.
“Congress is fast relegating into the pages of history and those dreaming of its revival are deceiving themselves”, Balbir said and added that better the Congress leaders accept that their downfall cannot be undone and there is no one to fall for their claims and slogans.
Balbir said gone are the days when people were not aware that Congress only promoted dynastic rule, corruption, nepotism and what not? Today people have found more reliable option in  BJP and hence displaying their faith in its programmes and policies, which are framed keeping in view the true welfare and concern of nation, its people and providing corruption free good governance.

It was emphasized by the participants of the workshop that most of the tribal communities in the state of Jammu and Kashmir being nomadic, the education for these tribes is a big challenge. Their ethno-livestock knowledge is transmitted from generation to generation. Not only this, the traditional ecological, medicinal, livestock and climatic knowledge and skills held by the Gujjar and Bakerwal are need based and linked to their annual transhumance. Therefore, educational teaching and learning of tribals must be linked and transfer of the knowledge from one generation to another through formal educational system including school education is a viable option. The workshop concluded with the resolution that the outcome of the deliberations of this Consultation workshop will go a long way in rejuvenating and reorienting school education for tribals in the state of Jammu and Kashmir which will ultimately play a significant role in ameliorating their livelihoods and facilitate in environment conservation and protection and sustainability of their resource base and intergenerational resource equity.
