SRINAGAR,
MAY 23: Minister for Higher Education, Technical Education and
Information Technology, Molvi Imran Raza Ansari, today reviewed the work on
girls’ hostels being constructed in various areas of the State under Prime
Ministers Development Package (PMDP).
The
Minister directed the executing agency Jammu and Kashmir Housing Board to speed
up the work on the hostels on priority and added that he would be personally
monitoring the quality and pace of the works. He asked them to redouble their
efforts to meet the set deadline.
He also
directed the concerned agency to devise a proper work plan so that students
don’t face further difficulties in availing the hostel facilities.
The seven
girls hostels are being constructed at GDC Bemina, GDC for Women, Kupwara, GDC
for Women, Pulwama, GDC Kargil, GDC Paloura, GDC Rajouri, and GDC Thatri at an
estimated cost of Rs 50 crore.
Commissioner Secretary Higher Education, Technical Education, Youth
Service and Sports, Javed Ahmad Khan, officials from J&K Housing Board and
other concerned attended the meeting.
