PULWAMA, MAY 23:Minister for
Works, Naeem Akhtar and Minister for Agriculture, Mohammad Khalil Bandh today
visited the Mulberry Farm at Tumlahal, Pulwama spread over around 600 kanals of
land.
The Ministers
took stock of the existing facilities at the Mulberry Farm, which the locals
said was one of the oldest such farms in the area. They were
informed that around 1000 families of the area are involved in Cocoon
production.
The Minister
assured the locals that the Government would diversify the activities of the
Mulberry Farm to create Skill Development and job avenues for the local youth
in aromatic and medicinal plants.
The Ministers
also visited Zasow, Shadipora and Arihal to take stock of the developmental
needs of the area.
The locals
complained of the dilapidated condition of Tahab-Shadipora road and demanded
its immediate repairs. They also demanded a Sports Stadium for the area.
Secretary Sports Council, Waheed-ur-Rehman Para, Dy Commissioner
Pulwama, SSP Pulwama and other senior officers of the district administration
accompanied the Minister.
