Samba, May 22: Deputy
Commissioner Samba S Rajinder Singh Tara today visited firing
affected border villages and took stock of displaced people and damages.
Accompanied
by SSP, CMO, SDM Ghagwal, Tehsildar Rajpura,BMO Ghagwal, teams of
doctors of Animal Husbandry department and officers of various
departments, the DC visited villages in Rajpura and
Ramgarh sub sectors to assess the damage to property and livestock.
He also chaired a meeting of local officers to review
arrangements and provision made for essential services for the people
lodged in temporary camps set by the administration .
Meanwhile,
border residents presented various demands to which the DDC assured to take
necessary steps.
The DC also
appealed the people to maintain peace and amity and cooperate with the security
agencies, civil administration which is taking adequate steps for ensuring
their safety.
Locals
expressed faith in administration and assured their full support and
cooperation.
