BANDIPORA,
MAY 09: District Development Commissioner (DDC) Bandipora, Khursheed
Ahmad Sanai, today convened a meeting to review traffic scenario in the
district.
The
meeting held a threadbare discussion and took many decisions to ensure safe and
smooth regulation of traffic across the district, especially in the townships
of Bandipora, Sumbal and Hajin.
The DDC
directed all stakeholders to make sure that all footpaths are free from
encroachments. He urged upon the shopkeepers to remove voluntarily wherever
there is any encroachment on footpaths in the markets within a week's time or
due action will be taken.
He also
directed Executive Officer, Municipal Committee to identify a proper space for
the fish market in Bandipora town.
Regarding management of heavy loaded vehicles in the district, it was
decided that heavy loaded vehicles will not be allowed to ply during daytime in
the town, adding that stone and other construction carrying vehicles use
covers.
