RAMBAN, MAY 28: The District
Health Society, Ramban organized District Level orientation on intensified
Diarrhoea Control fortnight-2018 at District Hospital here on Monday.
The programme was
attended by Medical Officers of District Hospital Ramban, Staff Members Para
medical staff and ASHA workers besides large number of civil society members.
MLA Ramban
Neelam Kumar Langeh was the chief guest and formally inaugurated the programme
in presence of Chief Medical Officer, Safi-ud-Din Khan, Dy CMO Dr Iqbal Bhat
and Medical Superintendent DH Ramban, Dr DV Singh.
In his inaugural
address, the MLA welcomed the role being played by
the ASHAs for successful implementation of the IDCF 2018 to be held till 9th
June.
He
appealed all the stakeholders viz. Health, Education department and ICDS to
extend full cooperation for successful implementation of the programme in the
district. He also asked them to work hard so that not a single child fall
prey to diarrhea.
Responding to
demands of locals, the MLA sanctioned an ambulance for DH Ramban from his
CDF and directed CMO for early completion of its formalities
The CMO delivered
Key note address about the orientation programme. He said that childhood
diarrhea is among the major killer of 0-5-year-old children in India and most
of the victims are children from poor socio-economic families.
He said that the
ultimate aim of intensified Diarrhea Control Fortnight 2018 is to achieve zero
child deaths due to childhood diarrhea. The District Health Society, Ramban is
organizing the IDCF-2018 from 28th May to 9th June, 2018. He also
explained to the participants about various activities to be performed during
the lDCF like establishment of ORS Zinc Comer in all the health facilities.
The Dy CMO, as
the Resource Person, thoroughly explained about the cause of diarrhea
among the children. He also explained about the precautionary measures and
interventions and Preparation of ORS at home and its uses.
The activities during the programme included Hand washing
demonstration in schools and outreach areas, lEC, IPC programmes by ANMs and
ASHAs etc.
