New Delhi, May 15 : With the latest counting trends for the Karnataka assembly election showing BJP heading towards a victory in the state, there was jubilation outside the party headquarters here on Tuesday.Hundreds of enthusiastic party workers burst fire crackers and distributed sweets amidst beating of drums, sensing victory in Karnataka after trends showed BJP far ahead of the Congress.
Meanwhile, Union Ministers Nirmala Sitharaman and Ravi Shankar Prasad celebrated at the party headquarters.
According to latest trends, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) appears to be heading for a simple majority on its own in Karnataka,.
The party was ahead in 115 constituencies out of 222 seats for which trends were available from the Election Commission.
The ruling party Congress is behind with only 63 seats followed by JD(S) 39 and its alliance partner BSP of Mayawati one and others two.UNI
