SRINAGAR, JUNE 16: Governor N.N. Vohra launched “Madadgaar” a 24x7 telephone Helpline- 14411, started by the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) for providing assistance to the citizens of Kashmir, at a function organized by the CRPF here today.
 Governor complimented Mr. Rajiv Rai Bhatnagar, DG, CRPF and all his officers for their pro-active initiatives to provide assistance and support to the people at large, particularly in the event of medical exigencies, clearing of roads when they get blocked by snowfall or other national accidents, providing safety to women and the elderly and to students studying outside the State, counselling and guidance to those in need, help to tourists etc.
 Governor observed that CRPF, which is the oldest law and order enforcement agency in the country, has been involved in dealing with all kinds of difficult situations and its disciplined officers and men have been successfully handling various challenges of domestic unrest professionally and with maximum possible restraint.
Governor appealed to J&K students who are studying outside the State to approach the CRPF through the “Madadgaar” helpline whenever they are faced with any difficulty and the CRPF, through their units who are deployed all over the country, will promptly provide them the necessary assistance.
 Governor urged Education Minister Altaf Bukhari and the media fraternity to give wide publicity to this valuable Helpline.
 Dr. Nirmal K. Singh, Deputy Chief Minister praised the CRPF for their dedication and commitment to public welfare and hoped that this Helpline will be immensely useful for reaching out to people in distress.
Syed Mohammad Altaf  Bukhari, Minister for Education, appealed to the people to make full use of this Helpline and help CRPF serve them better.
 Sh. Rajeev Bhatnagar, DG CRPF, spoke about the responsibility of the CRPF in ensuring safety and security of the people and highlighted the features of this Helpline
 Sh. Fayaz, Ms. Rashida and Ms. Seerat-ur-Rehman, members of the civil society, spoke about the usefulness of this Helpline for the citizens of Kashmir.

 Sh. B.B. Vyas, Chief Secretary; Dr. S.P. Vaid, DGP; Lt. Gen. J.S. Sandhu, GoC 15 Corps; Sh. Zulfiquar Hasan, IG(Ops) Kashmir were among those present on the occasion.

SRINAGAR, JUNE 12: Shri N.N.Vohra, Chairman, Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board (Governor, J&K) today visited the Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board office at Raj Bagh, Srinagar, today and inaugurated the Yatra 2017 Control Room which has a Help Line for prompt attention being given to the enquiries and complaints as may be received from the pilgrims.

          Shri Umang Narula, Chief Executive Officer of the Shrine Board informed the Chairman that the Help Line will function from 9.30 AM to 6.00 PM on all weekdays from 12th June 2017 to 26th June 2017 and from 27th June 2017 onwards it shall function 24X7 till the conclusion of the Yatra. Any person seeking information or help or faces any difficulty in regard to the forthcoming Yatra, which commences on 29th June 2017, can call 0194-2313146 or send an e-mail at sasbjk2001@gmail.com.

          Governor hold a detailed discussion with CEO, Addl. CEO, GM (Works), GM(Sanitation), CAO, Dy. CEOs and other officers to review, item wise, the arrangements made or being made for the forthcoming Yatra. It was noted that each of the various facilities required for the Yatris are being established, in coordination with the various agencies and stakeholders, within the planned time schedules which had been approved by the Chairman in November 2016.

          Regarding the sanitation arrangements being made for the ensuing Yatra, Governor directed the GM (Works) and GM (Sanitation) to ensure that the planned number of Toilets and Baths are made fully functional at the Base and en-route Camps. They should also ensure effective functioning of the waste disposal systems and maintenance of cleanliness in the toilet facilities, at all times. Governor further directed that the functioning of the STPs at Baltal and Nunwan should be reviewed and further upgraded in consultation with experts in the field.

          Governor took stock of the arrangements being made for providing medical care services and directed the medical units, with adequate staff, equipments, medicines etc. should be available at a maximum distance of every two kilometers on both the Yatra routes. He further directed the installation of proper signages which indicate the distance to the next medical centre, for the convenience of the Yatris. He also directed the timely installation of dome type Shelter Sheds with adjacent toilet facilities for the convenience of the pilgrims in case of inclement weather.

          Governor reviewed the training/ orientation programme scheduled to be held for the 24 Camp Directors/ Additional Camp Directors and Deputy Camp Directors, who will be deployed on Yatra duty; status of works and clearance of snow along both the tracks; arrangements made for giving weather related forecasts to the Yatris etc. as the 4 training of the Camp Directors and other officers shall terminate on 18th June, Governor directed CEO to ensure that each of them were at their posts by 19thJune.

          Governor asked CEO to ensure that a  sustained publicity campaign was carried out to educate and caution the pilgrims about the need for them to follow the Do’s and Don’ts of the Yatra and that  every pilgrim undertakes adequate advance preparation and is  physically fit before embarking on this ardous pilgrimage.

Directs for setting up of 24x7 helpline
SRINAGAR JUNE 07:- Deputy Chief Minister Dr. Nirmal Singh today directed the officers to ensure early restoration of the electric infara which had got damaged due to the inclement weather in Jammu the other day.
The directions were given by the Deputy Chief Minister while reviewing the power scenario in the Jammu division today. Senior Officers of the PDD department were present in the meeting.
The Deputy Chief Minister asked the officers to ensure that they should synergize their efforts so that early restoration of the damaged of electric infra is done.  He said that we have to ensure that the people do not face any inconvenience viz-a-viz electric supply during the hot summer days.

Dr. Singh also   directed the Chief Engineer PDD  Jammu to  direct the Field Officers  to  ensure  that the  people do not  suffer and be  responsive to the demands of the  consumers viz-a-viz restoration of  electric power and damaged transformers.  He said that they should also setup a 24x7 help line for providing quality supply of electricity to the people of the division.
