600 job seekers, representatives of 12 leading companies participate
JAMMU, MARCH 26: Additional District Development Commissioner Jammu, Suraiya Jabeen, inaugurated one-day ‘Job Fair-2018’ organised by the Department of Employment here today.
The aim of the Fair was to create awareness among the unemployed educated youth about the job opportunities in private sector.
As many as, 600 youth and representatives of 12 leading companies from private sector participated in the ‘Job Fair’.
Urging upon the unemployed educated youth not to depend on government jobs only, the Additional Deputy Commissioner, stressed upon them to explore avenues in  private sector and prove their mettle by working in leading companies of the country. She stressed upon the youth to come forward and avail opportunities from such programmes and explore alternative ventures particularly in the private sector which has an immense scope of absorption to tackle the unemployment issue to a great extent directly.
On the occasion, Deputy Director Employment, Jammu, Rajeev Magotra, asked the youth to contact Employment and Counselling Centres for any assistance.



PULWAMA, MARCH 12:   One-day special employment fair-cum-recruitment drive was organized here today at District Employment and Counseling Center Pulwama. 
The programme, organized under the aegis of Department of Employment and Department of Labour and Employment, was inaugurated by District Development Commissioner Pulwama Ghulam Mohammad Dar.
The DDC later inspected various stalls set up by private companies and line departments including Finance, Human Resource, Construction company RAMKY, Automation and Information Technology, Department of Horticulture, Fisheries, Animal Husbandry, Khadi and Village, District Industries Centre, Handloom and Floriculture.
The DDC inquired about the schemes being provided by the line departments for unemployed youth of the district.
Speaking on the occasion, DDC accentuated that educated youth should come forward and take benefits of the schemes and programmes. He urged the stakeholders for full cooperation to make the event successful in the larger interest of the unemployed youth of the district. He exhorted upon RAMKY officials to engage local unemployed civil engineering graduate candidates in their concerned projects especially in the construction of Ring Road and NH444 in the District.
During the fair, scores of unemployed educated youth registered themselves with different companies and departments.
General Manager District Industries Centre Tahir Ahmad Magray, District Social welfare officer Suhail Ahmad Lone, Assistant Director Employment Pulwama AbdulRaqeeb Bhat and other district officers were present on the occasion.




JAMMU, MARCH 12: Minister of Commerce & Industries, Chander Prakash Ganga today inaugurated a mega job fair organized by District Employment and Counselling Centre, Samba under National Career Service Programme of Union Ministry of Labour and Employment.
Deputy Commissioner Sheetal Nanda, SSP Samba Anil Magotra, Asst. Director DECC Samba Naresh Kumar, Young Professional Officer MCC Rahul Vohra, CCO Samba Dushyant Singh along with other district officers and a large number of youths were present on the occasion.
The Minister inspected various stalls set up by various companies during the event and inquired about schemes being provided by the companies for unemployed youth of the District.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister accentuated that educated youth should come forward and take benefits of the schemes and programmes. He urged the stakeholders for full cooperation to make the event successful in the larger interest of the unemployed youth of the district. He said that more than 200 youths will be selected and get job opportunity through this job fair.
Reiterating government’s commitment to promote industrial sector in the state, the Minister said that several new industrial units are coming up in the state which will help to create ample job opportunities for the local youth.
Earlier, the Minister addressed a public meeting at Village Birpur District Samba where a large number of people from different sections of the society apprised him of their problems and grievances.
People apprised him about issues like road connectivity, lane and drain, unscheduled power cuts, non-availability of drinking water and many more alike. The Minister gave a patient hearing to the grievances of the people and assured that genuine issues will be taken up with the concerned authorities for appropriate action. He also issued on spot direction to the concerned officers for the redressal of genuine demands of the people.
While speaking on this occasion, the Minister said that government has provided a platform to the general public for direct interaction with its Ministers so the woes of the people are raised at highest level and mitigated.
He added that social and economic upliftment of the weaker sections, downtrodden, women, youth and farmer is on prime agenda of the government. The Minister said that the government has laid full focus on development of infrastructure and providing better civic amenities to the people of the state.



KATHUA DECEMBER 21: MLA Kathua, Rajiv Jasrotia today inaugurated Mega Job Fair in which 9 companies participated to offer jobs to the candidates. Job Fair was organized by District Employment and Counselling Centre Kathua.
Deputy Commissioner, Rohit Khajuria was also present on the occasion.
While addressing the youth, MLA said that the government plays an important role as a facilitator to provide jobs to the youth. He said that to create ample opportunities for the youth, it is necessary that all available resources should be explored to redress the problem of unemployment.
Highlighting schemes launched by the centre government for tackling the issue of unemployment, MLA said that MUDRA Yojana, Start Up India, Stand Up India, Make in India and Skill India are few initiatives launched to create jobs and skill enhancement. He also disclosed that it is not possible for any Government to provide job opportunity to every unemployed youth but awareness must be created among the youth regarding these schemes so that they can reap maximum benefits.
MLA asked DC Kathua to prepare a data base of local youth employed in local industries to keep a tab on their employment and monitoring on daily basis.
Speaking on the occasion, DC said that this Job Fair will benefit the candidates where they can have multiple job options to choose for their employment. He said that 9 companies are participating in this fair by offering 265 vacancies. District Employment and Counselling Centre is providing excellent opportunity under one roof to the job aspirants, he added.
Deputy Director Employment, D C Bhatti informed that the Job Fair was organized under National Career Service (NCS) as it brings together all stakeholders like job seekers, employers, counsellors, trainers and private placement agencies to facilitate convergence of information and create synergies through these associations and work towards bridging the gap between job-seekers and employers, candidates seeking training and career guidance and agencies providing training and career counselling by transforming the National Employment Service.



SRINAGAR, DECEMBER 04: Minister for Education, Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari today inaugurated a daylong job fair under National Career program (NCP) here at Kashmir Haat.
Organized under the aegis of Union Ministry of Labor and Employment and Department of Labor and Employment Government of J&K, the Minister said the main purpose of the fair is to create a platform for employers and prospective job seekers besides providing career counselling to the unemployed youth of Srinagar.
Deputy Commissioner Srinagar Syed Abid Rasheed Shah, Director School Education Kashmir G N Itoo, Joint Director Employment, Akramullah Tak were present on the occasion. 
Altaf Bukhari appreciating the initiative of Labor and Employment Department said that organizing such fairs is a “concrete step to provide prospective job seekers a chance to find suitable jobs.”
He laid stress on entrepreneurship and self help groups saying that there are many business ideas that can be given shape and would turn out to be successful business ventures.
The Minister said people earn money on the commission basis by simply launching web portals therein providing home deliveries of various products.
He said we are currently facing a bigger challenge of unemployment in the state and government alone cannot overcome it, adding it cannot provide employment to all unemployed in the state. He said the youth have to come forward and take responsibility by giving wings to their business ideas and turn them into reality. 
Bukhari made public that the education department will be advertising 2500 posts through Service Selection Board (SSB) before March 2018. The Minister directed Labor and Employment department to come up with a database for online registration to streamline recommendation of unemployed youth to various organizations and impart training to them for screening test against vacancies in various government departments.
He assured the unemployed educated youth that their concern would be taken into consideration in the next fair that will be organized three months later.
The companies that participated in the fair included State Bank of India, Life Insurance Corporation, Khadi and Village Board Industries, Rooman Technologies, NSDC Udaan, and besides scores of other companies.

The fair was attended by hundreds of job aspirants of the state who on the occasion registered themselves with various companies for various jobs.

100 ITI Graduates shortlisted for various jobs



SRINAGAR, SEPTEMBER 07- Under the initiative of J&K Skill Development Mission, the placement cell of Directorate of Technical Education on Thursday organized a job festival in collaboration with local service providers in the campus of Government Industrial Training Institute (ITI), Bemina Srinagar.
An official spokesperson said the aim of the festival was to address the unemployment problem among the ITI Graduates
The event was inaugurated by Director Technical Education Shabnum Shah Kamili and was attended by about 500 ITI Graduates concerning with the Trade of Electrician, Electronics Mechanic, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning and Plumber, from all across the Kashmir province.
During the festival, 100 candidates have been shortlisted by their respective employers/service providers for placing them in various districts of Kashmir depending upon the requirements of particular districts.
On the occasion, Director Technical Education laid stress on the ITI Graduates for availing the job opportunities availing in private sector for their productive employment. She also emphasized on the Entrepreneurs/service providers to offer reasonable wages to the skilled workforce for their sustainable livelihood.
