New Delhi, Mar 3: Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Vietnamese President Tran Dai Quang on
Saturday discussed a range of bilateral issues, including defence, trade,
atomic energy and agriculture, in an effort to take strategic partnership
between the two countries a step ahead.
“PM @narendramodi and Vietnamese President Quang
held fruitful talks and discussed steps to further strengthen comprehensive
strategic partnership in defence & security, trade & investment, atomic
energy, agriculture, S&T, tourism, oil & gas, as well as regional and
global issues,” said Raveesh Kumar, Ministry of External Affairs Spokesperson
in a tweet.
Mr Quang arrived here on Friday on a 3-day state visit.
Before coming to Delhi, he visited Bihar’s Bodh Gaya, a Buddhist pilgrimage site.
Earlier, he met External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj and held discussion over a range of issues.
India-Vietnam trade stood at 6.24 billion dollars in fiscal 2016-17 and the two sides have agreed to raise this to 15 billion dollars by 2020. UNI
