Takes stock of the Independence Day arrangements
SRINAGAR, AUGUST 02: The Deputy Commissioner, Srinagar, Dr Syed Abid Rasheed Shah, today, along with the senior civil and police officers, visited Sheri Kashmir Cricket Stadium, Sonwar, the venue selected for holding of main Independence Day-2018 function and took stock of the arrangements being put in place by various departments on the occasion. He discussed, on the spot, the major issues related to security, parking of vehicles, seating arrangements, power supply, installation of Public Address System, cleanliness of the area, traffic and media management besides the entry of VVIPs, VIPs and other participants.
Underlining the need for maintaining close coordination with each other, the Deputy Commissioner asked the authorities of line departments to make foolproof arrangements for holding the function smoothly. He asked the officers of R&B department to start work from today itself on the job assigned to them especially seating arrangements of VVIPs.
Regarding parking for vehicles of dignitaries, Abid asked the officers of traffic department to assess the capacity of the parking slots identified for the event and formulate a plan so that maximum number of vehicles of the dignitaries and other participants coming to attend the function, including the Government employees are accommodated.
The Deputy Commissioner also went around the stadium and directed concerned authorities to remove the material lying on the entry gates for ensuring hassle-free entry of the participants.
For better media management, the Deputy Commissioner, directed the police and security officers to identify suitable spots for parking of OB vans of different TV channels including Doordarshan Kendra, Srinagar.

LEH, MAY 11: In connection with the forthcoming visit of Prime Minister to Leh, Deputy Commissioner Avny Lavasa today chaired a high-level meeting to review the arrangements being made by the district administration for the Prime Ministers visit to the district during his visit to the State on May 19.
She instructed the concerned officers to ensure that all arrangements including accommodation for VVIPs, security, transport, parking among other arrangements at the venue of the PMs visit are made well in advance.   
The DC also directed the Health department to arrange critical care ambulances with medicines at the venue of the PM visit. She directed Executive Engineer Construction Division for proper leveling of the venue and undertaking necessary patchworks of link roads in and around the venue. The concerned were also directed to ensure proper arrangements of toilets for VVIPs and the general public.
The meeting was attended by Air Officer Commanding, 21 Wing Air Force Station Leh, Chief Engineer HIMANK, Senior Superintendent of Police, Additional Deputy Commissioner, besides other senior officers of Police, PWD, PHE, BSNL, LDA, Tourism, Health, Education, Fire & Emergency Services and Transport.
