Lucknow, Feb 16: The Yogi Aditynath government in Uttar Pradesh on Friday tabled its second budget for the coming 2018-19 financial year with deficit budget proposals but no new taxes.
Several new projects and schemes have been announced by the BJP government in view of the 2019 Lok Sabha polls.
Finance Minister Rajesh Agarwal tabled by the budget in the Assembly in presence of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
The quantum of the total budget is Rs 4,28,384.52 crore which was around Rs 60,000 crore more than the present fiscal. The total income of the state has been pegged to Rs 4,20,899.46 crore in 2018-19 which was also an hike of around Rs 60,000 crore.
However, the gross deficit is estimated of Rs 7485.06 crores in 2018-19 but after adjusting the amount of the public accounts, the budget would be in surplus of around Rs 1284.23 crore.
The UP budget focuses on the investments, youths affairs and infrastructure development in the state. The government has earmarked Rs 14341.89 crore for new projects and schemes to be launched from the next fiscal.
The projects are metro rail in five new cities, Mukhamantri Yuva swa-rojgar yogjna for educated youths and one district, one product(ODOP) schemes. UNI
