LEH, MAY 23: With an aim to
improve the health facility in Leh district mainly in rural areas, the
Executive Councilor Health, Gyal P Wangyal today visited various medical health
centres that include Primary Health Centre (PHC) Sakti, PHC Chuchot, PHC Bazgo,
PHC Saspol and PHC Temisgam.
At these centres,
the EC Health took first-hand information ranging from infrastructure, staff
strength and availability of medicines and equipment.
Interacting with
the Doctors and paramedical staff at various places, GyalWangyal said that the
Council is very serious about strengthening all the medical centres functioning
in rural areas with good infrastructure, sufficient medical staff and medicines
so that people living in far-off areas could get quality health service at
their doorsteps.
He urged upon the
Doctors and paramedic staff to become more updated with latest medical
knowledge and practices and ensure punctuality in their duties. He said that
Council would emphasize on holding more and more refresher training courses at
different levels so that the capability of medical staff would further improve.
EC Health said that Health Department Leh is presently implementing upon a
transparent transfer policy that was devised by late CEC Dr. Sonam DawaLonpo,
adding that this transfer policy would be continued keeping in mind it’s
perspective of unbiased posting for all.
At PHC
Sakti few points put forth before the EC that included construction of staff
quarter, ground levelling and early completion of the access ramp. EC Wangyal
on spot directed AEE Shamim to complete the ground levelling and the ramps of
the hospital at the earliest. He assured to provide an ambulance for PHC Sakti.
At PHC Chushot,
Medical Officer Dr. Amrin Tabassum briefed the EC Health about the functioning
of the hospital and also demanded for the early creation of toilets, water
facility inside the hospital, staff quarter, internet facility and Chowkidar
shade.
At PHC Bazgo, the
need of drinking water facility, a 3-phase power line for the heating system
and an additional room for the staff at night duty was demanded.
During his
inspection of PHC Saspol, the need of 3-phase power line for heating was also
demanded. Besides, treatment for a roof of the new hospital building and
renovation of the old building was also brought into the notice of EC Health.
At PHC Temisgam, Councilor TemisgamTsering Morup put forth issues
and demands of PHC which include posting of doctors and Medical Officer at the
PHC, filling the vacancies Staff Nurse who were recently transferred, repair of
staff Quarter, functional of bathrooms and treatment for roof of the hospital
and three-phase power line for the PHC.
BMO Leh Diskit
Dolma and BMO Khaltsi Jamila Bano also accompanied the EC Health during his
tour.
