KULGAM, MAY 14: District
Health Society Kulgam (DHS) in collaboration with the Education Department and
ICDS Kashmir Monday organized a health
and screening camp under the Rashtriya Bal SwasthyaKaryakram (RBSK) at
Government Model Higher Secondary School D K Marg here.
The
camp was inaugurated by MLA Noorabad, Ab. Majeed Padder in presence of
District Development Commissioner Kulgam Sajad Hussain.
Speaking
on the occasion, the legislator called on the health department to be
pro-active in providing preventive and curative medical facilities to the
patients in order to curb deficiency diseases and disabilities caused due to
developmental delays. He lauded the BMO DH Pora and his team for
organizing this medical camp even as he urged the former to hold such camps in
other areas too.
Over
1000 children were screened for vision, hearing, neuro-motor impairment, motor
delay, cognitive delay, language delay, behavior (autism) and learning
disorders for free on the occasion. Children with minor health problems were
given free medicines like de-worming tablets and age-appropriate vitamins
doses.
Children
were also familiarized with general hygiene among other health tips on the
occasion. Services of specialists were also made available to the children
identified by the medical teams for consultation of specialists on the
occasion.
Dy. CMO, Dy. CEO, BMOs of all health blocks of
the district, Principal HSS DK Marg, ZEO, APM-RBSK, District & Block
Programme Management besides medical & paramedical staff were present on
the occasion.
