KARGIL, JULY 4: A meeting of District Health Society (DHS) under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner and CEO LAHDC, Kargil Vikas Kundal was held here today.
The meeting was attended by the members of the District Health Society including Medical Superintendent, District Hospital Kargil, all Block Medical Officers and District Programme Management Unit Staff under NHM.
The Chief Medical Officer (Vice Chairman DHS) detailed the activity wise ongoing National Health Programmes under National Health Mission (NHM) in the district.
On the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner, who is also chairman DHS Kargil, directed all the concerned to put in vigorous efforts for the achievement of set targets for the year 2018-19.
 He impressed upon all the concerned to monitor the progress of all activities under NHM on monthly basis at block and district level.

KULGAM, MAY 14: District Health Society Kulgam (DHS) in collaboration with the Education Department and ICDS Kashmir Monday organized a health and screening camp under the Rashtriya Bal SwasthyaKaryakram (RBSK) at Government Model Higher Secondary School D K Marg here.
The camp was inaugurated by MLA Noorabad, Ab. Majeed Padder in presence of District Development Commissioner Kulgam Sajad Hussain.
Speaking on the occasion, the legislator called on the health department to be pro-active in providing preventive and curative medical facilities to the patients in order to curb deficiency diseases and disabilities caused due to developmental delays. He lauded the BMO DH Pora and his team for organizing this medical camp even as he urged the former to hold such camps in other areas too.
Over 1000 children were screened for vision, hearing, neuro-motor impairment, motor delay, cognitive delay, language delay, behavior (autism) and learning disorders for free on the occasion. Children with minor health problems were given free medicines like de-worming tablets and age-appropriate vitamins doses.
Children were also familiarized with general hygiene among other health tips on the occasion. Services of specialists were also made available to the children identified by the medical teams for consultation of specialists on the occasion.
Dy. CMO, Dy. CEO, BMOs of all health blocks of the district, Principal HSS DK Marg, ZEO, APM-RBSK, District & Block Programme Management besides medical & paramedical staff were present on the occasion.

RAMBAN, MAY 10: District Health Society (DHS) in collaboration with Education and ICDS organized a mega health and screening camp under Rashtriya Bal SawasthyaKaryakram (RBSK) at Doligam, here today.  
The camp was inaugurated by MLA Banihal, Vikar Rasool Wani   in the presence of District Development Commissioner (DDC) Tariq Hussain Ganai and CMO, Dr Saif-ud-Din Khan.
Speaking on the occasion, the legislator said that the health department should provide preventive and curative medical facilities to the patients at right time to curb deficiency diseases and disabilities caused due to developmental delays, which is the prime objective of the programme.
During the programme, the DDC directed concerned to work in tandem to spread awareness among participants regarding health-related problems, especially natal and developmental delays and disabilities.
He said that people should take benefit from the various health programmes and avail medical care facilities from nearby health centres.
During the camp, more than 1000 children were screened for vision, hearing, neuro-motor impairment, motor delay, cognitive delay, language delay, behavior disorder (autism) and learning disorder for free and the children suffering with minor health problems were given free medicines like de-worming tablets, age appropriate Vitamins doses
 The children were also familiarized with hand washing method, general hygiene and menstrual hygiene.
Among others, SDM Banihal, Zaheer Abass Dy. CMO Dr. Iqbal Bhat, Tehsildar Banihal, Shafiq-ur-Rehman Wani, BDO, ZEO, BMO, RBSK doctors, RBSK teams, paramedical staff were present in the camp.
