Srinagar, Aug 8 :  The “Chhari Mubarak”, the holy Mace of Lord Shiva, left Panjtarani for Pahalgam on way back to Amreshwar temple Deshnami Akhara here after paying obeisance on the last day of the 40-day-long pilgrimage at the cave shrine yesterday. This year, over 2.60 lakh pilgrims, including women and sadhus, paid obeisance at the cave shrine from both shortest Baltal and traditional Pahalgam tracks from June 29. After day-long pujan yesterday in the cave shrine on the occasion of Sharavan Purnima, Rakshabandan, Mahant Deependra Giri, carrying the Chharri, left for Panjtarani before the dusk. The Chhari left Panjartani at 0700 hrs on the occasion of “ Pratipada” for Pahalgam for a night halt there. On the occasion of “ Dvitiya” tomorrow ‘Pujan’ & ‘Visarjan’ ceremonies will be performed at 0915 hrs on the bank of river Lidder. Thereafter, traditional ‘Kari-Pakouri’ Bhandara shall be organised for sashus. With this last ritual, annual pilgrimage of Swami Amarnath shall culminate. Chhari-Mubarak shall return to its abode at Srinagar. UNI

            POONCH, AUGUST 5: The Minister for Industries and Commerce Chander Parkash Ganga   today flagged off the Holy Mace (Charri Mubarak) of Shri Budh Amarnath Yatra here from Dachnami Akhara, Poonch.
Legislators Shah Mohammad Tantray, Yashpal Sharma, Pardeep Sharma, Ravinder Raina, Vibodh Gupta & Senior   officers of district administration police and army, besides locals cutting across religious lines, members of Yatra Management Committees were also present on the occasion.
The People in thousands from across the district accompanied  the Charri Mubarak & Yatris  up to Holy Cave of Buddha Amarnathji at Mandi- situated 30 km away from Poonch town.
Speaking on the occasion, Ganga said the display of pluralistic sentiment and composite cultural of Poonch should serve as a source of inspiration for the rest of the regions of the state as well as the country. 
          MLA, Shah Mohammad Tantray said Poonch is a place of Sufis and Saints and their teachings have always preached tolerance, goodwill and mutual respect for all religions.  “No one can dare to harm these social values inherited since centuries form these Sufis and Saints,” he asserted.

          DDC Poonch Tariq Zargar also greeted the devotees and appreciated the people of Poonch for upholding the tradition of religious tolerance and communal harmony.

Pahalgam, Aug 5 :  'Bam Bam Bholay' and 'Har Har Mahadev' rented in the air when “Chhari Mubarak”, the holy Silver Mace of Lord Shiva, left Chandanwari, the last motorable halting station on traditional yatra route, for Sheshnag on way to holy Amarnath cave shrine on the occasion of “ tryodashi”. After pujan and other rituals, the devotees led by Mahant Deependra Giri, left Chandanwari for Sheshnag this morning. The Chhari had reached Chandanwari yesterday afternoon from Pahalgam where it had reached from Srinagar after having pujan at several places on way on August 2 evening. Mahant Giri said On “ Chaturdashi” tomorrow, Chhari will leave from Sheshnag from 0700 hrs for a night halt at Panchtarni. He said on ‘ Raksha Bandhan” on August 7 “ Sharavan Purnima”, the Chhari will proceed for the holy Cave for Punjan at 0700 hrs from Panchtarni. Traditional rituals shall be performed and prayers offered the whole day at the shrine. However, before dusk, Chhari-Mubarak shall leave for night halt at Panchtarani, he said, adding that from there charri will leave for night halt at Pahalgam at 0700 hrs on August 8. On August 9 ‘Dvitiya Pujan’ and ‘Visarjan’ ceremonies shall be performed at 0915 hrs on the bank of river Lidder at Pahalgam. Thereafter, traditional ‘Kari-Pakouri’ Bhandara shall be organized for Sadhus. With this last ritual, annual pilgrimage of Swami Amarnath Ji shall culminate. Chhari-Mubarak shall return to its Abode Ameshwar temple Desknami Akahtar at Srinagar. UNI

Pahalgam, Aug 4 : The 'Chhari Mubarak', holy Silver Mace of Lord Shiva today left this base camp for Chandanwari, the last motorable halting station on traditional yatra route to holy Amarnath cave shrine on the occasion of “ Dwadashi”. After pujan and other rituals, the devotees, led by Mahant Deependra Giri, left this afternoon for Chandanwari for a night halt there. The 'Chhari' had reached here from Srinagar after having pujan at several places on way on August 2 evening. Mahant Giri, custodian of the 'Chhari' said before the eruption of militancy in early 90s the 'Chhari Mubarak' was taken in a procession from Dashnami Akhara shortly after sunset for a night halt at Durga Nag temple in Srinagar. Now the 'Chhari Mubarak' is leaving in the morning to reach Pahalgam on same day in a vehicle with halts at some places on way. Now 'Chhari Mubarak' was being taken from Srinagar to here though with some pujan at several places on the way on the same day. After night halt at Chandanwari, the 'chhari' will leave for Sheshnag at 0700 hrs for a night halt there tomorrow on “ tryodashi”, he said . On “Chaturdashi” on August 6, 'chhari' will leave from Sheshnag from 0700 hrs for a night halt at Panchtarni. Mahant Giri said the 'Chhari Mubarak' will be taken inside the cave on August 7 for final puja on the concluding day of the 40-day-long pilgrimage this year. He said on Raksha Bandhan on August 7 “Sharavan Purnima” 'Chhari Mubarak' will proceed for holy cave for Pujan at 0700 hrs from Panchtarni.
