Asks locals to identify land for setting up receiving station at Khrew
SRINAGAR, MAY 25: Minister of State for Forest, PHE, Irrigation & Flood Control, Mir Zahoor Ahmad, Friday stressed for augmenting power infrastructure in Pampore constituency to reduce transmission and distribution losses besides improving electricity scenario in the area.
He also called for prioritizing upgradation of Pampore, Khrew, Wuyan and Awantipora receiving stations.
The Minister said this while chairing a meeting of PDD to review the pace of developmental works taken under different schemes including Integrated Power Development Scheme (IPDS), Prime Minister’s Development Package Urban (PMDPU), DeenDayal Upadhyaya Gram Jyoti Yojana(DDUGJY) and PMDPR.
It was given out that an amount of Rs 42.40 crore have been sanctioned under various schemes to be incurred for strengthening and improving power infrastructure and up-gradation of receiving stations in the Constituency.
Stressing upon the PDD authorities to work with utmost dedication, the Minister instructed them to ensure uninterrupted power supply to Pampore area especially during Sehri and Iftaar time in the holy month of Ramadan.
Earlier, a delegation of Auqaf Committee Khrew met the Minister and apprised him about the shortage of power infra in the area. The Minister gave them a patient hearing and assured them that their genuine demands will be looked into.
While asking the delegation to identify a suitable land measuring at least two kanals for setting up of receiving station at Khrew, the Minister instructed the District Development Commissioner Pulwama to complete the requisite formalities in this regard so that the long pending demand of the people is fulfilled at an earliest.
Chief Engineer PDD (Project Wing) Daljit Singh, Superintending Engineer PDD, Executive Engineers and other officers of the concerned department were present at the meeting.


SRINAGAR, AUGUST 18- Deputy Chief Minister Dr. Nirmal Singh today asked for coordinated efforts for the successful implementation of the initiatives undertaken for the power sector so that the Prime Minister’s vision of providing un-interrupted power supply to every town and village of the country is realized.
The Deputy Chief Minister was speaking a review meeting convened to discuss the status of power sector related programmes including the 11th plan under Re-DDUGJY (Din Dayal Uphadaya Gram Jyoti Karan Yojana)  / DDUGJY and Prime Minister’s Development Package (PMDP) under PFA  (Power for All) and UDAY Schemes in J&K.
It was attended by Principal Secretary PDD, Chairman and Managing Director REC Limited, Executive Director PGCIL, Executive Director DDUGJY, Executive Director NHPC, CEO REC PDCL, Managing Director Jammu and Kashmir State Power Development Corporation, Development Commissioner Power, Secretary Technical PDD, Chief Engineers and other senior officers.  
The Deputy Chief Minister asked the officers to synergize their efforts in order to ensure that the schemes meant to augment the power sector in the state are completed within the stipulated time lines so that the adequate supply of electricity can be provided to the consumers of the state. He said that these would also ensure that the un-electrified villages and areas are also provided with the requisite power.
Dr. Singh said that the Prime Minister has been kind enough to provide liberal funding to the state under power sector and now the onus lies on us to ensure that it is utilized properly and the schemes being covered under the same are completed within the stipulated time lines. He said that these schemes would be a game changer in providing un-interrupted power supply to the state besides also ensuring that the transmission and generation of electricity in the state.
The Deputy Chief Minister also asked the officers and the Project Implementing and Monitoring Agencies (PIAs & PMAs) to convene regular meetings so that the process of implementation of the schemes and programmes under 11th Plan, DDUGJY, PMDP, PFA and UDAY can be properly monitored and the requisite feedback got. He said that it would ensure that they are completed on the fast track basis and bottlenecks if any, can be removed.

RAJOURI, JUNE 14: District Administration Rajouri is celebrating "Making of Developed India Festival" at Government Higher Secondary School Rajouri from June 16th to 18th.
The festival will be inaugurated by District Development Commissioner, Dr. Shahid Iqbal Choudhary, at 09:00am, Friday, at GHSS Rajouri wherein an exhibition highlighting progress and achievements of different government departments will be held.
Departments have been directed by the DDC to showcase developmental works, highlighting achievements, and display material on awareness regarding development and welfare schemes.
There will be guidance sessionsby the experts on various State and Centrally Sponsored Schemes.
Focus will be on awareness sessions by resource persons on Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, DDUGJY, PMFBY, SBM, MGNREGA, PMAY, MIDH and other State and Centrally Sponsored Schemes.

Beside appealing general public to participate in 3-day festival, the DDC has instructed concerned officers to ensure presence of students, teachers, aanganwadi workers and PRI members.
