Hyderabad, Nov 29: The Global Entrepreneurship Summit entered the second day on Wednesday, with
eminent women participants including US President Donald Trump's daughter
Ivanka Trump, participating in the plenary sessions, making a strong pitch for
extending more help and support to women entrepreneurs and working women.
Participating in one of the plenary session, Ms.Ivanka said
that more women were now working in private sector adding that if the private
sector was encouraged more job opportunities for women would crop up.
She said that working women proved to be an asset to their
families in terms of financial support. Working women should be ready to grab
new opportunities , Ms.Trump added.
Former UK Prime Minister Tony Blair's wife Cherie Blair said
that there were fewer job opportunities for women in India adding that in
countries like India, faster development was possible if women became partners. UNI
Hyderabad, Nov 28: Prime MInister Narendra Modi and US President Donald Trump's daughter and
Advisor Ivanka Trump will have a tete-a-tete before the inaugural of the Global
Entrepreneurship Summit (GES) here this evening.
According to an official release, Mr Modi will have a
twenty-minute meeting with Ms Trump between 1525 and 1555 hours before formally
launching the eighth edition of the GES.
Ms.Trump is expected to underscore the need for creating
economic opportunities among the people particularly women during her meeting
with Mr Modi.
The Prime Minister and Ms.Trump along with other guests will
also attend dinner at Falaknuma Palace in the old city of Hyderabad being
hosted by the Central government in honour of the GES delegates tonight.
Unprecedented security arrangements have been made by the
Telangana police for the GES keeping in view the suggestions made by the United

Nov 28: A warm welcome was accorded to US President's daughter and Advisor
Ivanka Trump on her arrival at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in
Shamshabad here early on Tuesday morning.
She was received at the Airport by US Ambassador to India
Kenneth Juster and top Telangana government officials and among others.
Soon after her arrival, she drove to Trident Hotel in
Madhapur where she will stay in the city as part of her two-day visit.
Ms Trump is expected to be the star attraction at the Global
Entrepreneurs Summit (GES).
She will go to Hyderabad International Convention Centre
(HICC), the venue of the GES at 1500 hours and meet External Affairs Minister
Sushama Swaraj at HICC.
She will also make a courtesy call on Prime Minister Narendra
Modi who will arrive at the venue to participate in the inaugural session of
the GES after inaugurating the Hyderabad Metro Rail Services at Miyapur station.
Ms.Trump who is leading the US delegation to the GES will
along with Mr Modi go to Falaknuma Palace located in the old city of Hyderabad
to attend the dinner hosted by the Centre in honour of the GES tonight. Around
1500 delegates will also take part in the dinner.
She will return to the hotel and after the overnight stay,
she will attend sessions at HICC and meet international investors and delegates
tomorrow before leaving for Dubai in the night. UNI

Delhi, Nov 22: Ahead of her visit to Hyderabad for participating in the
Global Entrepreneurship Summit 2017, US-based businesswoman and daughter of
President Donald Trump, Ivanka Trump, has said that she looks forward to
meeting many of the entrepreneurs next week.
Commenting on a social media platform, 36-year old Ivanka
said, “… We celebrate women entrepreneurs and reaffirm our mission of ensuring
they are equipped with the capital, mentors and networks they need to run their
businesses. I look forward to meeting many of these entrepreneurs next week at
GES2017 in India.” The senior White House adviser noted the event's theme of
"Women First, Prosperity for All” and said “Entrepreneurship domestically
and abroad is a key priority for this administration." The event is being co-hosted by the United States and India
which will start from November 28-30 and will also be attended by Prime
Minister Narendra Modi. The conference is expected to draw more than 1,500
entrepreneurs from 170 countries, would have around 350 participants from the
US, a large number of whom will be Indo-Americans. UNI

Nov 4: The US President's daughter and adviser, Ivanka Trump, has said
that harassment of women in the workplace was not to be tolerated.
At the World Assembly for Women at Tokyo on Friday, she spoke about women's
safety amid sexual harassment of women in Hollywood and other industries in the
United States, The Asahi Shimbun reported on Friday.
"All too often, our workplace culture fails to treat women with
appropriate respect," she said. "This takes many forms including
harassment which can never be tolerated."
She did not give examples.
In her speech, she also said workplaces need to make further efforts to respect
women's values and accommodate the need for balance between work and family.
Despite the increase in the percentage of women at workplaces, corporate
expectations have remained "stagnant" and still operate on "a
single-honor mindset" with expectations for mothers to stay home to
provide full-time care, she said.
It "disproportionately" impacts women and most likely causes them to
leave jobs or curtail ambitions due to lack of affordable care for children or
relatives who can help, she said, calling for innovative ways to make it easier
for women to enjoy motherhood without compromising their careers.
"This isn't a woman's issue, it's a family issue," she said.
Ivanka Trump came to Japan at the invitation of Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and
is set to leave one day before her father arrives in Japan on Sunday.
The conference was part of Abe's "womenomics" initiative aimed at
encouraging women to join the workforce and promoting their advancement as a
way to boost national economic growth. More women have joined the labor force
under the Abe government, but the majority of female workers hold part-time or
non-regular jobs, while most working men have full-time jobs.
Abe acknowledged that men think they have set the rules and tend to "think
inside the box" and he feels "a pain in the heart" as he
reflects on his own mindset. "I believe women have a power to break the
wall of 'common sense' set by men and pioneer a new era," Abe said, adding
that women have the chance to create businesses from a unique perspective. UNI
