Jammu, Sep 11 : An 11-year-old girl was killed after a leopard attacked her in Reasi district, police said Tuesday.
The incident occurred Monday when Nageena Akhter was taking a walk near her house in Jamlan hills in Mahore tehsil and the leopard attacked her, the police said.
The body of the girl was later recovered by officials, they added.
Balrampur (UP), Jun 15: Four persons were injured when a leopard attacked them in Bharawandeeh village under Rampur range of Suhelwa Wildlife Sanctuary here, an official said.
Kanshi Ram (30) was working in his agriculture field when a leopard attacked him yesterday evening, DFO R.K Mittal said.
On hearing his cries, three persons rushed to his help and were also attacked by the leopard, the DFO said.
All the four have been admitted to a hospital.
Efforts were on to catch the leopard and a big cage has been placed outside the village to trap it.
He asked villagers not to venture out alone at night and keep lights outside their houses to ward off wild animals. (PTI)

Mar 10: A minor boy was mauled to death by a leopard in the central
Kashmir district of Budgam on Friday evening, official sources said.
They said the leopard entered village Gujerpati Drang at Khag
area in Badgam district from a nearby forest. However, before the villagers
could do anything, the big cat attacked six-year-old Parvez Ahmad Kataria near
his house. The wild animal left Parvez in a pool of blood when the villagers
attacked leopard, who later escaped into forest. The injured was rushed to
local hospital, where he was declared brought dead.
Later, the villagers protested against the Wildlife
department, alleging that despite repeated requests, nothing was done to
prevent infiltration of wild animals into the area. UNI
Srinagar, Jul 22 : A minor boy was attacked and killed by a leopard in a village in south Kashmir district of Pulwama. Official sources told that a leopard entered Banderpora village late in the evening yesterday. But, before the villagers could react, the leopard attacked and took away an 8-year-old boy, identified as Hazim, from outside his house. They said villagers informed the police and organized searches in the woods till mid-night, but could not find the boy. Today the mutilated body of the boy was recovered from the bushes, they said. After completing all the legal and medical formalities, the body of the deceased was handed over to his relatives for last rites. UNI
