MAHORE, SEPTEMBER
11: Scores of children including adolescent girls besides
women and villagers of this hilly Tehsil today watched live address of
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on PoshanAbhiyaan.
The Prime
Minister Narendra Modi interacted with the field functionaries of ICDS/ Health
Department in the DirectSamvad organized by Ministry of Women and Child
Development/ Health Department, Government of India under.
In Mahore,
the CDPO Anjum Ganai arranged the live telecast for the
field staff of ICDS, villagers, Adolescent Girls, women, Students, and people
from trade fraternity. The aim was to spread the message of the importance of
optimum Nutrition, so as to make the message reach in every house hold of
Mahore.
Later, speaking
on the occasion, the CDPO said that malnutrition during the first two years
leads to slow physical and mental growth of the child.
“Since
children are the assets/ future of any country, and as such we need to wage a
war against this silent enemy (Malnutrition), with the pledge to make every
house of Mahore Tehsil Malnutrition free, with the slogan Malnutrition-quit
India” she told the villagers.
While
highlighting the PoshanAbhiyaan, she said that Government has fixed targets to
reduce stunting, anaemia (among young children, women and adolescent girls) and
low birth weight by 2 per cent, 2 per cent, 3 per cent and 2 per cent per
annum, respectively.
Later, an awareness rally on Poshan Abhiyan was taken out which passed
through the main market of Mahore.
