Sirsa, Sep 8: Amid tight security, search and sanitisation operations inside the Dera Sacha Sauda headquarters began here under the supervision of the Punjab and Haryana High Court-appointed Court Commissioner Anil Kumar Panwar this morning. Mr Panwar is a retired District and Sessions Court Judge and has been appointed by the High Court to monitor the search and sanitisation operation. Curfew imposed in and around the Dera headquarters will continue till the sanitisation process is complete. The sprawling Dera is spread in more than 700 acres of land. The operations are expected to last more than a week. As many as 41 companies of paramilitary forces and four columns of Army have been deployed in the area to maintain law and order. Media and public have been barred from entering the Dera campus. Search teams have also not been allowed to carry their mobile phones inside. According to an official spokesperson, the search teams have recovered some cash and seized some computers and hard discs from the Dera premises. Two rooms of the Dera have also been sealed, the spokesperson said. Meanwhile, the Haryana government has suspended all mobile internet, SMS and dongle services till Sunday in Sirsa district to curb the spread of any kind of rumors following the sanitisation process. All these services of telecom providers would remain suspended in the district except voice calls. Dera chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh was convicted in rape cases by a special CBI court in Panchkula on August 25 and sentenced to 20 years imprisonment on August 28. Sirsa, Sep 8: Security forces entered Dera Sacha Sauda headquarters this morning ans started search and sanitation operations. Deputy Commissioner Prabhjot Singh said 41 companies of paramilitary forces and four columns of the Army have been deployed. He said the entire Dera premises is to be divided into five sectors for the purpose of searches, each under control of an SP rank officer. The operation will continue uninterrupted till the search is complete. The search is being monitored by Court Commissioner AKS Pawar, appointed by the Punjab and Haryana High Court. All roads leading to the Dera have been sealed. Mediapersons were stopped at Shah Satnam Singh Chowk. Search team have also not been allowed to carry their mobile phones inside. It may be recalled that Dera chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh was recently convicted in a rape case and sentenced to 20 years imprisonment. Baghpat, Aug 29 :  District authorities have fully vacated the Barnawa ashram of Dera Saccha Sauda here, soon after the Dera chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh had been convicted. Though the entire 750 bigha large ashram was vacated last night itself, some sevadars have been allowed to stay inside to take care of the cows and agriculture field. Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Ajay Kumar said today the Barnawa Ashram of Dera Saccha Sauda is the second largest ashram of the Dera after Sirsa in Haryana. He said after the chief of the Dera, Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh had been convicted on Friday last, several devotees came here to stay but they were sent to their homes and now just around 20 sevadars are left to take care of the cows and agriculture fields. However, a strong contingent of police has been deployed at the ashram. The ASP said all the sevadars have been issued photo identity cards so that no one other than the sevadar enter the ashram. The ashram is situated on the Meerut-Baraut Highway where there are large plantations of different fruits and vegetables. Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh used to address his devotees in this ashram on first Sunday of every month and generally attended by people from Haryana, Delhi and other districts of UP. Though in the past the villagers of the nearby areas protested against some suspicious activities inside the ashram. A few years back an under construction building inside the ashram had collapsed in which several labourers were killed. But the ashram authorities had covered up the issue. UNI
