Mumbai, Apr 3: A school supervisor of Mumbra in neighbouring Thane district has been arrested in SSC paper leak case.
The name of the alleged accused was Prashant Dhotre, who was working in Kiddies Paradise English High school, leaked History and Political Science paper last month.
He was sending question papers to another accused Anwerul Hassan who was forwarding to the students from WhatsApp and even on Instagram.
Learning the news of the arrest of the prime accused Firoz Khan, Dhotre went into hiding and switched off his phone.
According to, Paramjit Singh Dahiya, DCP (zone 9), confirmed the arrest on Monday of Dhotre.
Prashant did not have qualification to become a supervisor. He was appointed as a supervisor by Firoz Khan, who was a Maths teacher.
Along with Khan, his three other friends-- Imran Shaikh, an IT student, and Brilliant Coaching’s teacher Rohit Singh,-- were also arrested.

New Delhi, Mar 29: Describing the leakage of the Class 12 Economic board examination and the Class 10 Maths exam as a result of the ‘complete apathy’ and ‘deliberate negligence’ by the Ministry of Human Resource Development and the Central Board for Secondary Education, the Congress on Thursday demanded the sacking of HRD Minister Prakash Jawadekar and CBSE chairman Anita Karwal to fix accountability for the incidents.
Addressing a press conference here, AICC media incharge Randeep Surjewala, the Jt Secretary incharge for the NSUI Ruchi Gupta and AICC National Media panelist Ragini Nayak, said,’’the leak of the CBSE exams has exposed the capture of highest academic institutions by the ‘Exam Mafia’ under the watch of the Modi Government , as also absolute abdication of authority by HRD Minister Prakash Jawadekar and CBSE Chairperson Anita Karwal.
It is time to fix accountability and sack the HRD Minister and the CBSE chairperson..’’
Charging the Modi government of spreading the ‘Vyapam Virus’ across the country, Mr Surjewala said,’’first they nurtured the ‘Vyapam Virus’ in Madhya Pradesh, then they spread the same patented virus throughout the country in the multi layered SSC Scam and now they have not even spared our students. Encouraging ‘Exam Mafia’ has become the bedrock of BJP’s policies.
It is absolutely shocking and heart rendering that the future of 24 Lakh students is in severe jeopardy as the Modi Government officially admits that 2 CBSE papers- ‘Economics Examination Paper’ for Class XII leaked on March 26 and ‘Mathematics Examination Paper’ for Class X boards leaked on Wednesday, almost an hour before the students sat for the exam. ‘’
Describing report of leak of the two newspapers as “the tip of the iceberg”, Mr Surjewala said,’’It may just turn out to be the tip of the iceberg as multiple news reports and social media stories on how the Biology, Chemistry and English papers have also been leaked are also surfacing now. Despite registration of an FIR and an enquiry, shockingly; CBSE has admitted the leak of 3 exam papers.’’
Alleging multiple instances of bungling and malfeasance in the CBSE under the Modi Government, Mr Surjewala said,’’there were errors in the evaluation of Class XII board exam papers in the year 2017. Then there is the practice of inflating marks in board examinations.
Also notable is the alleged setting of tough questions in the NEET exam in regional languages. (MPs from Bengal and Tamil Nadu had complained about the nature of questions being asked to students taking the NEET in their mother tongue.) Coincidentally the officials in key positions at both SSC and CBSE are handpicked IAS officers of Prime Minister from the time he was Gujarat Chief Minister i.e Mr Ashim Khurana and Ms Anita Karwal. ‘’ UNI

New Delhi, Mar 29: Describing the alleged leakage of the CBSE class 10 and Class 12 board exams as ''unfortunate'', Union Minister for Human Resource Development Prakash Javadekar on Thursday said the Government has instituted an internal inquiry into the matter and the culprits will be punished.
Addressing reporters at a press conference to brief about the decisions of the Union Cabinet, Mr Javadekar  said,''it was an unfortunate incident. I can understand the frustration and the anger of the students and their parents.

This (leakage) incident is a breach on the reputation of the CBSE and we will not allow the culprits to go scot-free. I am confident that the Delhi Police will nab the culprits just like it arrested four people in the leakage of the SSC exams.''
Mr Javadekar said the government had also instituted an internal inquiry into the alleged breach in the CBSE examination system.
''We have instituted an inquiry into the breach of the examination system. We must make all efforts to enure that the examinations go without any breach,'' he said.
He said the CBSE will decide on the next course of action, including the dates for the retest of the exams.
''We will take all steps to ensure that the system is foolproof. I want to assure all of you that the system will be improved and those guilty of the crime will be punished,'' he said.
The CBSE had on Wednesday announced a retest for the class 10 Maths Board exam and the class 12 board exam in Economics. UNI

New Delhi, Mar 28: The government has taken many steps, including deployment of technical tools, to check leakage of papers in examinations conducted by different government recruitment agencies, Lok sabha was informed on Wednesday.
The initiatives taken to check malpractices include; conduct of examinations on computer based mode for securing the examination paper, deployment of low powered jammers in the examination venues to block CDMA, GSM, 3G, 4G, Wi-fi and Bluetooth devices and CERT-IN certification for examination process and use of CCTV cameras, Minister of State PMO, Personnel, Public Grievances & Pensions Mr Jitendra Singh informed the House in reply to a written question.
Admitting that there have been stray reports of reported leakage of question papers in recruitment examinations, Mr Singh said such incidents have been attended by cancellation of said examination and re-conduct thereof.
He said there was no centralised data was maintained with regard to the incidents of paper leaks associated with various government examinations.
Denying any leakage of question papers in the Combined Graduate Level (CGL) Examination, 2017, he said in view of some sporadic incidents of alleged cheating by some candidates at a few venues and subsequent agitation by a section of the candidates, SSC in order to reiterate and reaffirm the faith of the candidates in the examination process recommended for an impartial enquiry by CBI.
"Accepting the recommendation of the SSC, Government has referred the matter to CBI for a free and fair enquiry,” he said.
The said examination has not been cancelled, therefore, question of re-conduct does not arise, he added. UNI

New Delhi, Mar 20: The Supreme Court on Tuesday dismissed a petition seeking a court-monitored probe into the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) paper leak scam.
During the course of the hearing of the plea filed by lawyer Manohar Lal Sharma, the Centre informed that the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is already investigating the matter, so there was no point in the apex court passing a direction in the case.
The bench, headed by Justice R K Agrawal and also comprising Justice Abhay Manohar Sapre, observed that when the CBI had already started the investigation, then there was no meaning of hearing the plea.
The CBI told the bench that it is conducting the preliminary probe against certain unknown government officials and also many SSC staffers in the alleged SSC question paper leak scam.
The petitioner had approached the Apex Court seeking a fair investigation into the case. He alleged, in his plea, that a free and fair investigation was not possible by the CBI, as the probe will have to be conducted against the influential people in the government.
To this, the Supreme Court said,'If you don't have faith in the CBI, then we can't do anything.'
"No further order is required at this stage. PIL petitioner can come back if not satisfied with probe." UNI

“ FIR is being lodged by CBSE today,” it stated.
Earlier, acting on complaints of alleged leak of the paper, Delhi Education Minister Manish Sisodia directed Directorate of Education (DoE) to investigate the matter.
The Minister also said that swift action must be taken in connection with the matter, so that hard-working students do not suffer due to negligence of CBSE.
It was alleged that the copy of the account paper was being shared on WhatsApp since morning, which contained the same questions which were in the paper.
