SRINAGAR, JULY
17: Governor N.N Vohra, Chairman of the Board, today held a
meeting at Raj Bhavan to review the to-date status of the ongoing Yatra, which
commenced on 28th June 2018.
Shri Umang
Narula, CEO, and Shri Bhupinder Kumar, Addl. CEO of the Shrine Board, informed
the Governor that due to the continuous rainfall overnight, the Yatra was
suspended today, from both the Pahalgam and Baltal routes. However, limited
helicopter services operated from both Neelgrath and Pahlagam helipads.
CEO further
informed that on the 20th day of the ongoing Yatra,4140
Yatris paid obeisance at Holy Cave and, till date, 2,01,582 Yatris had received
darshan of the Shivling at the Holy Cave.
Governor reiterated his earlier directions to CEO and Addl. CEO to
closely monitor the Yatra, ensure effective coordination with all agencies
involved in the conduct of pilgrimage, and ensure the safety and security of
the Yatris.

Amarnathji Yatra, 13,083 Yatris paid obeisance at the Holy Cave.
Till date 1,65,006 Yatris had the darshan of the Shivling at the Holy Cave.

Shri Amarnathji Yatra, 18467 Yatris paid obeisance at the Holy
Cave. Till date 54833 Yatris had darshan of the Holy Shivling at the Holy Cave.

30: Keeping in view the safety of Yatris, the Shri Amarnathji Yatra
remained suspended today because of landslides, slippery tracks and shooting
stones caused by incessant rainfall. The Yatra remained suspended on both the
Pahalgam and Baltal routes.
Governor N. N.
Vohra, Chairman, Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board directed Sh. Umang Narula, Chief
Executive Officer that in the prevailing weather conditions the track conditions
be closely monitored and got repaired before allowing the movement of Yatris.
The concerned agencies should be kept on alert to promptly restore the tracks
for the safe movement of Yatris. CEO reported that very limited Heli Services
had operated on Neelgrath- Panjtarni sector today.
At the end of the third day of Shri Amarnathji Yatra 587
pilgrims paid obeisance at the Holy Cave.

SRINAGAR, JUNE 28: The commencement of the Shri
Amarnathji Yatra was very considerably delayed today morning due to continuing
rain since last night. As it could commence only in afternoon, from both the
Baltal and the Pahalgam routes, only 1316 Yatris were able to leave on the
Baltal route and 60 on the Pahalgam route, for the Holy Shrine.
By the evening of the
first day, 1007 pilgrims had paid obeisance at the Holy Cave.
SRINAGAR, JUNE 28: Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Baseer Ahmad Khan today
directed concerned Deputy Commissioners and officers to ensure disaster
and hassle-free Shri Amarnathji Yatra -2018.
The Divisional Commissioner made these directions
while reviewing the disaster management plan for Amarnath Yatra 2018.
The meeting was informed that adequate SDRF and NDRF
personnel had been deployed for Amarnath Yatra duty, in addition to the
volunteers of Home Guards and Civil Defence besides qualified Disaster
Management Professionals would also be deployed at all stations for smooth
conduct of the Yatra. Mock Drills have already been conducted at Pahalgam and
Sonamarg areas besides Joint Control rooms were set up in these areas.
Threadbare discussion were held regarding the various
aspects of disaster management including the incident response system, various
levels of disaster management, different types of calamities and safeguard
against them, role of district administration during disasters, oxygen booths
at high altitudes, 24x7 medical facilities, food kits, emergency kits, route
plan, satellite phones, blankets, transit camps, tents, transportation,
metrological & geographical factors, ecological issues and other related
aspects.
The Divisional Commissioner stressed upon employing the
proactive and anticipating procedure for ensuring smooth and incident free
management of Amarnath Yatra so that devotees, which come from all corners
of the country, should not face any kind of difficulty.
He directed all concerned departments to maintain close
coordination with each agency and concerned Deputy Commissioners will
personally monitoring all arrangements and preparedness of various disasters to
ensure disaster free Amarnath Yatra 2018.

whereas Deputy Commissioners of Anantnag, Ganderbal, Bandipora and Pulwama
participated the meeting through video conferencing.

Legislative Assembly, Dr Nirmal Singh paid obeisance at the holy Shri
Amarnathji cave.
On the occasion, Dr Nirmal Singh prayed for peace,
progress and prosperity in the State.
Interacting with the devotees, the Speaker enquired
about the facilities being extended to them by the administration at various
identified locations and enroute the yatra path.
Meanwhile, Dr Singh
asked the civil administration, police and security forces to continue their
efforts for smooth conduct of the yatra with the zeal.
SRINAGAR, JUNE 28: To ensure safe and secure
movement of pilgrims for annual Shri Amarnathji Yatra-2018, Police today issued
traffic advisory indicating detailed cut-off timing at various places enroute
the holy cave on both Baltal and Pahalgam routes. The advisory shall be
applicable for the tourists as well.
As per the advisory, the cut-off
time for the pilgrims and the tourists crossing Jawahar Tunnel towards the
Kashmir valley has been set 3 pm while
cut-off time for the last such vehicle to cross Mirbazaar towards Anantnag will
be 4 pm. However, the
cut-off time for the last vehicle to cross Anantnag town towards Pahalgam is 5 pm.
The cut-off time for the
departure of last Yatri from Nunwan towards base camp Chandanwari (by foot) is10 am, from Chandanwari towards
Sheshnag (by foot) 11 am and from Panjtirthi towards holy cave 7 am.
The cut off timing for the
vehicles to cross Panthachowk towards Manigam is 5 pm and
to cross Shadipora/ Pandach towards Manigam is 6pm. However,
the last vehicle to cross Manigam Transit camp towards Baltal is 6:30 pm.
Similarly, during the return
journey, the cut-off time for the last vehicle to cross Baltal Base camp
towards Manigam is 9 am,
Sonamarg Police Station towards Manigam 10 am,
Manigam Transit Camp towards Shadipora/Pandach 12 noon,
Shadipora/Pandach crossing towards Panthachowk 1 pm and
Panthachowk towards Anantnag 3 pm.
The cutoff timing for the last
vehicle to cross Nunwan towards Jammu is 10 am,
Mirbazaar towards Jawahar Tunnel 4 pm and
Vessu, Qazigund towards Jawahar Tunnel 5 pm.
It has been made clear in the
Advisory that no vehicle shall be permitted to cross the tunnel after the
cut-off time.
The Yatris and the tourists have been asked to strictly adhere to the
advisory and cooperate with the traffic police and security agencies.
SRINAGAR, JUNE 28: On account of
continuing rain since last night the annual Yatra to the Holy Cave Shrine of
Shri Amarnathji in the Kashmir Himalayas commenced rather late today, around noon, from both the Pahalgam and the
Baltal routes. Governor N. N. Vohra, Chairman of the Shri Amarnathji Shrine
Board, alongwith CEO of the Board, senior Army, Police, Central Police and
Civil Administration Officers, paid obeisance at the Sanctum Sanctorum and
participated in the Pratham Pooja ceremony. He prayed for sustained peace,
harmony, progress and prosperity in the State.
On his visit to the Shrine, the Governor rapidly
reviewed the arrangements made for the pilgrims at the Yatra Shrine Camp and
conveyed the Shrine Board’s appreciation to the Army, Central Armed Police
Forces, Police and Civil Officers and those from all the other concerned
agencies for their strong involvement in the conduct of the Yatra. He stressed
on the Camp Directors and all the functionaries involved in the management of
the Yatra the need for effective supervision and round the clock monitoring for
ensuring the smooth conduct of the pilgrimage.
Meanwhile, Sh. Umang Narula, CEO of the Shrine Board,
has once again appealed to the intending Shri AmarnathjiYatris to embark on the
pilgrimage only after getting medically checked and obtaining a valid Yatra
Permit. This would ensure against any avoidable inconvenience to them.
CEO stated that the
Board had issued a detailed Advisory of Do’s and Don’ts for the Yatris visiting
the Shri Amarnathji Shrine and the Yatris need to strictly adhere to these
guidelines as they would require to undertake an arduous trek through high
mountain ranges under uncertain weather conditions.
SRINAGAR, JUNE 27: Sh. Muneer Ahmad
Khan, ADGP Home Guards, Security, and Law and Order, called on Governor N.N.
Vohra at the Raj Bhavan today and briefed Governor about several important
matters relating to Security and Law and Order management. He particularly
discussed arrangements for the ensuing Shri Amarnathji Yatra.
Governor emphasized on Sh. Khan the vital importance of regularly
reviewing and effectively ensuring the security of all protected premises and
vital installations and to take all required steps for minimising collateral damage during counter-terror
operations.
SRINAGAR, JUNE 27: Sh. Ram Madhav, BJP National
General Secretary, met Governor N.N. Vohra at the Raj Bhavan today.
Sh. Madhav discussed with the Governor issues relating to the obtaining
challenges before the State Government and the arrangements made for the Shri
Amarnathji Yatra which commences tomorrow.
UDHAMPUR, JUNE 23 -
Keeping in view the upcoming Amarnath Ji Yatra, a joint mock drill exercise was
conducted to enhance the disaster preparedness for the smooth conduct of yatra
by the district administration in support of Indian Army Unit, 10 Garhwal Rifles,
SDRF at village Garnai in Udhampur under OP Megh Rahat here today.
The mock drill
covered all the activities related to rescue victims and to launch operations
for landslide, flood, accident and other eventualities during the yatra.
District Development
Commissioner, Udhampur Ravinder Kumar said the main motive of holding such
exercises is to bring synergy among the different managing teams and also
evaluate the efforts being put in place by the district administration and
other agencies for the smooth conduct of the yatra.
He emphasized upon
the officers, rescue and operation teams to make coordinated efforts for
successful conduct of Amarnath Ji Yatra. The exercise was aimed at ensuring
better preparedness and coordination among agencies of defence and civil
administration.
On the occasion,
the security forces and civil agencies rehearsed all the drills of search and
research causality evacuation followed by demonstration on first aid by the
Army Medical Officer.
During the drill,
the officers and rescue operation teams were sensitized about the precautionary
measures being taken for averting any natural disaster.
The mock drill was
attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner, Udhampur Krishan Lal, Assistant
Commissioner Revenue, Subash Dogra, ASP, Faisal Qureshi, besides senior
officers of Army, SDRF and large number of civil society members were present
on the occasion.
