SRINAGAR, JUNE 19: Arrangements for upcoming auspicious occasion
of Shab-e-Qadar and Eid-ul-Fitr were reviewed in Kulgam, Anantnag and Bandipora
districts today.
In Kulgam, Deputy Commissioner chaired a meeting to take stock of arrangements
being put in place by the district administration.
The availability of essential commodities including rice, atta, sugar and
kerosene, transport arrangements, cleanliness in and around Masjids, streets
and Eidgahs, ambulance services, uninterrupted power and water supply and
repairs and renovation of roads were discussed threadbare in the meeting.
The Deputy Commissioner instructed AD FCS&CA to ensure timely distribution
of essential commodities well before Eid. Chief Medical Officer was instructed
to keep available ambulance services in case of any emergency and ensure duty
of doctors and paramedical staff.
In Anantnag, Additional District Development Commissioner chaired a
meeting to review supply positioning of essentials.

FCS&CA apprised the meeting that against the monthly allocation of 63000
metric tonnes of rice as many as 55000 mts have been distributed among
the consumers. Besides, 4516 quintals of sugar has also been distributed among
the consumers during this month. It was also given out that an additional quota
of one kilogram of sugar per household shall be given on the eve of Eid ul
Fitr.
Similarly in Bandipora a meeting was chaired by Additional
Deputy Commissioner to finalize arrangements being put in place by the
administration for the auspicious occasions.
He directed for intensifying market checking for strict implementation of
government rates of essential commodities
