RAJOURI MAY 11: Additional
Deputy Commissioner , Sher Singh convened a meeting to finalise arrangements
for holy month of Ramzan besides Shab e Qadar and Eid-ul-Fitr , here today .
Senior officers of various departments, besides
representatives of Managing Committee, Jamia Masjid, Rajouri and other
religious organisations were present.
The ADC directed district administration to put in
all possible efforts to ensure adequate facilities at all religious places,
including mosques for the devotees who come for prayers.
He
asked the concerned departments to properly regulate supply of food grains,
power and drinking water during the holy month. He also reviewed the Medicare,
security, cleanliness and other arrangements made for these auspicious
occasions. He asked the concerned functionaries to ensure that people may not
face any inconvenience on account of unscheduled
power cuts especially at Sehri and Iftaar times and drinking
water supply during the holy month.
ADC
also directed the Municipal Committee to ensure proper
lighting and cleanliness
in and around the Mosques located in town particularly at Eidgah where Eid
prayers would be offered.
Similarly, the Police and Traffic authorities were
directed to ensure security around the Mosques and better traffic management in
the town to avoid any inconvenience to the devotees.
Regarding the arrangements for Eid, the PWD and PHE
departments were asked to provide power supply to eidgah and put in place water
tankers at places of congregational prayers for public, while Fire Services
Department was asked to be ready to meet any eventuality. The Health
authorities were asked to make available sufficient number of well equipped
ambulances at all the places of Eid prayers.
The ADC also directed the Legal Metrology and FCS
& CA departments to conduct regular market inspection to keep a watch on
overcharging by traders and quality of food stuff sold by them during these
auspicious occasions.
Representatives of Muslim organizations present in
the meeting putforth various demands and suggestions for making fool proof
arrangements for the convenience of the people. The ADC assured that all their
demands and suggestions would be given due consideration.
The meeting was attended by ACR Abdul Qayoom Mir,
Addl SP Mohd Yousuf, ExEn of engineering departments and district officers of
concerned departments.
