
GANDERBAL, MAY
24: Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal, Dr. Piyush Singla, today
convened a meeting to review the progress of Srinagar Sonamarg Gumri (SSG) road
being executed and maintained by Beacon authorities.
The meeting held
threadbare discussions on the removal of bottlenecks and land acquisition for
the SSG road, informing that an amount of Rs. 64.52 crore has been spent on the
acquisition of 1103 kanals of land for the road.
The DC asked the
Beacon authorities to release an additional amount of Rs 57 crore for the
completion of the road. He instructed the concerned departments to work in
coordination for the earliest possible completion of this prestigious road
project.
Dr Singla also
directed the line departments, including PDD, PHE and I&FC, not to execute
any projects or schemes without obtaining consent from the Beacon authorities.
Concerns as
raised by the Defense Estates with regard to the land under their possession in
Sonamarg were also discussed during the meeting. It was informed that the
Revenue department under close of supervision of the concerned ACR has
undertaken the required demarcation and that necessary instructions in this
regard will be issues soon.
The meeting was attended by ACR Ganderbal, SDM Kangan, CEO Sonamarg
Development Authority, Defense Estate Officer Kashmir, Commanding Officer 118
BN CRPF Gund, Officer Commanding 122 RCC C/O 56 APO, EEs PDD and PHE and other
concerned officers.
