Union Minister of State for Home, Nityanand Rai


Budgam, Jan 22 :  Union Minister of State for Home, Nityanand Rai today said that development of J&K is priority for the central government.

Addressing a large public gathering at Sheikhpora Budgam, the Minister who was on a visit to Budgam in connection with the Government’s public outreach programme said that the socio-economic development of J&K is the focal point of the union government.

He said that special focus shall be given on industrialization in the newly carved Union Territory to open up new employment generation avenues for the local youth. Besides, he said, special focus shall also be given on the improvement of education sector in JK. The Minister said that people of J&K will be provided access and development at par with other states of the country.

Terming secularism as unique strength of the country, the Minister said that all citizens have responsibility to strengthen it and make good out of it. He said that the present dispensation is committed to protect rights and land of the people.

Stressing on the empowerment of people at grassroot level, the Minister said that now funds are at the disposal of Panchayat members and PRIs functionaries to empower them financially.

During his visit, the Minister e-inaugurated Girls Hostel Budgam, Hostel for Doctors at District Hospital and laid foundation stone for MGNREGA works. During the outreach programme various delegations including BDC Chairmen, Ring Road delegation, Contractual Teachers Association, Auqaf Committee Ompora, Ichgam and Gurduwara Prabandhak Committee met the Minister and raised their demands with him.

The Minster assured the deputations that all their genuine demands shall be taken up with relevant quarters for prompt and early redressal. He further stressed on implementation of all government sponsored schemes including SBM and Ayushman Bharat in letter and spirit so that all the beneficiaries are benefitted from these welfare schemes.

The Minister was accompanied by District Development Commissioner Budgam Tariq Hussain Ganaie. The DDC apprised the Minister that all centrally sponsored schemes are being implemented in letter and spirit in the district.

Among others, IG CRPF, SP Budgam, ADC Budgam, SE Hydraulics, ACR, ACD, CEO, Exens of PDD and Irrigation were also present on the occasion.

BUDGAM, APRIL 24: Department of Rural Development today organized ‘Gram Swaraj Sabba’ here in connection with Panchayat Raj Divas.
The day-long function was attended by a large gathering of people including job card holders, PMAY-G, SBM beneficiaries, officials, officers of the Department and other concerned.
While inaugurating the Sabba, ACD Budgam Fayaz Ahmad Parra highlighted the need for framing a socio-economic structure through people-friendly schemes introduced by the Department.
He said the schemes and projects devised for people’s welfare if utilized to their maximum can uplift socio-economic conditions of the concerned areas. Besides, it will create alternate employment opportunities for the deserving ones, he added.
Later, the ACD distributed job cards among 20 beneficiaries present on the occasion. A similar distribution of job cards was also carried out at all block headquarters, where concerned BDOs distributed them among the beneficiaries.

BUDGAM, APRIL 05: District Development Commissioner Budgam, Mohammad Harun Malik today convened a meeting to review preparations for the smooth conduct of examinations to be conducted by Service Selection Board (SSB).
SSP Budgam, Chief Education Officer, ZEOs and other concerned attended the meeting.
The DDC stressed on ensuring the free and fair conduct of written exams of various posts including Naib Tehsildar starting from April 21.
He directed all the school heads to ensure a conducive environment for the candidates with proper seating arrangements and other facilities.
He said that the entire examination process would be video-graphed by the concerned agency to ensure transparency. 
The DDC urged SSP Budgam to ensure proper arrangements of security around the examination centres.
He warned of stringent action against invigilators found indulging in unfair means including immediate suspension of a government employee and de-recognition of private school for any misconduct.   
The DDC directed a team of magistrates and police protection for centre to ensuring delivery of exam material at least two hours before the conduct of exam and its delivery back to the JKSSB office in Srinagar after the exams conclude.

BUDGAM, MARCH- 27: Secretary Relief, Rehabilitation and Reconstruction, Talat Parvez Rohella today inspected the Rs. 30 crore migrant residential project at Sheikhpora Migrant Colony in Budgam.
On the occasion, Secretary conducted physical inspection of quarters and reviewed the progress of work.
During the inspection, Secretary was informed that six quarters as additional transit accommodation are being constructed for the rehabilitation of migrant Kashmiri Pandits, with each building comprising of 16 flats.
They informed that work indulging interior on two building was completed and flats were ready for the accommodation. Officials informed that work on remaining buildings would be completed by next year.
The Secretary directed concerned to ensure all facilities including uninterrupted water and electricity supply to the families to be accommodated in these quarters. He also directed road construction for these residential quarters.
Meanwhile, Talat Parvez also interacted with Pandit families putting up already at different government accommodations at the Migrant colony and directed concerned to ensure better facilities for these families.
The Secretary gave a patient hearing to the grievances of migrants and assured them that all their genuine issues would be addressed on priority.
He assured that each migrant family would be accommodated in quarters with all facilities to be put up in these accommodations flats. He also assured segregation of families of those putting up in sharing flats and assured them of all help for their comfortable stay.
 Secretary directed the concerned to conduct a medical camp at Sheikhpora colony and prepare health report of each migrant to provide all medical health care they need.

District level SBM prog held in Budgam

BUDGAM, MARCH 26: A daylong district level awareness programme under  Swatch Bharat Mission programme was held today at Shiekh-ul-Alam Hall in Budgam.
The programme was organized by District Panchayat Office Budgam in collaboration with CEEO India.
Deputy Commissioner Budgam, Mohammad Harun Malik while speaking on the occasion urged student fraternity to be ambassadors of the Swatchh Bharat Mission to take the cleanliness drive to every household.
Stressing on the cleanliness and sanitation, DC informed that by June 30, 2018, there will be toilet facility in every household in the district.
“For this change, we have been forming Swachhata Committees in every village to ensure every household has toilet facilities,” DC said.
He said that students will be part of these committees to identify households lacking toilet facilities.
On the occasion, DC also stressed on maintaining personal hygiene and surroundings clean.
Terming the use of polythene as hazardous for human health and environment, DC urged students to play their part in curbing the menace of polyphone use.
On the occasion, speakers deliberated on the importance of toilets in schools and personal hygiene.
Among others, CPO Budgam, District Chief Agricultural Officer, District Panchayat Officer, BDO Budgam and scores of students from different schools were also present on the occasion.
NSD artists presented a number of folk shows to spread awareness about hygiene, cleanliness and sanitation. Meanwhile, DC also distributed mementoes amongst those who have done remarkable work under  Swatchh Bharat Mission drive in the district.

BUDGAM, MARCH 15: District Administration Budgam have realized a fine of Rs 1.6 lakh from various shopkeepers, wholesale dealers, distributors and manufacturers for selling adulterated, sub-standard and misbranded food items in different markets across the district, against the Food Safety and Standard Act-2006 (FSSA).
 ADC Budgam Mohammad Farooq Dar said that the fine of Rs 1.6 lakh has been realized from the erring businessmen during last nine months after the food item samples collected from the market were found in contravention of the FSSA-2006.
He said the samples include tea, sweets, suji, milk, bakery, spices and other food products, which were collected from the different markets by the food safety officers.
Taking immediate action against the erring shopkeepers, fine was imposed against each shopkeeper and manufacturer for failing to live up to the food safety standards and selling food items in breach of FSS Act-2006.
The penalties on the erring businessmen were imposed by Additional Deputy Commissioner, Budgam Mohammad Farooq Dar as Adjudicating Officer of FSSA Budgam under section 51/52 of FSS Act-2006.
Meanwhile, Adjudicating Officer directed FSS officers to conduct regular checkups and continue collection of samples from the markets for lab testing to ensure that no sub-standard or adulterated food items are being sold anywhere in the market at the risk of the life of consumers.
Besides, Adjudicating Officer also said that no shopkeeper or manufacturer would be allowed to indulge in such illegal practices, selling food products harmful for the human consumption.
He said that action would be taken against the shopkeeper for failing to maintain hygienic sale of food items.
Authorities further imposed a penalty of suspension of license as recovery of the amount as arrears of land revenue as per Section-96 of the Act on the erring shopkeeper incase he fails to deposit the penalty amount within the specified time. Besides, the accused is also directed not to repeat the practice of selling misbranded food items and comply the provision the provision of FSSA-2006.

 BUDGAM, MARCH 3: Minister for Health and Medical Education, Bali Bhagat today inaugurated a first of its kind hospitality and aviation training centre Zoom Air at Humhama in Budgam.
          Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said that the training centre was much needed for the youth of the state. He said the trainees can receive training about different courses to enter the airlines sector.
The Minister said that airlines sector has huge potential to provide jobs to the talented youth and after receiving the requisite training the chances of getting jobs increase manifolds.
 “Our youth are rich in talent but with the absence of requisite training facilities, the state youth were lacking much-needed credentials to enter the sector,” Minister said.
          Lauding the Zoom Air for establishing the training centre in the Valley, the Minister said that such facility would open new job avenues for the State youth.
          The Minister was informed that with intake capacity of 60, the training centre would start one-year certificate course of cabin crew, nine months course for ground staff and four months course of ground handling services in the initial stage.
          After the culmination of training at the local training centre, the candidates would be sent for three months additional course to Zoom Air training centre in Delhi.
          Managing Director, Zoom Air training centre, Nazir Ahmad Wani said at the end of the training, quality candidates would be absorbed by the zoom Airlines, while as job interviews would be assisted in other airlines for others.
          Among others, VC SICOP Ali Mohammad, senior officials of Zoom Airlines, Additional SP Budgam were also present on the occasion.

BUDGAM, JANUARY 23: Deputy Commissioner, Mohammad Harun Malik, today chaired a meeting to review arrangements for the upcoming Republic Day celebration.
Among others, the meeting was attended by SSP, ADC and other concerned officers.
It was given out that seven contingents of belt services including JKP, JKAP, CRPF, FPF, NCC Senior and Junior cadets, Home Guards and 12 contingents of school students shall participate in the march past.
The meeting also held threadbare discussion on arrangements like security in and outside the venue, culture programmes, transport, sanitation, power supply, Medicare facilities, seating arrangements, march-past, band contingents, public address system, fire fighting measures, heating arrangements, water supply, refreshments for students, and  distribution of invitation cards.

The DC directed the officials to maintain cleanliness in and around the main venue, besides asking the concerned to ensure better parking facility.  He stressed on close coordination among the concerned departments for smooth conduct of the Republic Day celebration.

SRINAGAR, JANUARY 15:  Executive Engineer Water Supply Master Plan, Division Srinagar today said that water supply to areas of Srinagar and Budgam fed on Sukhnag Water Supply Scheme will remain affected on January 16 from 10 am onwards till next-day afternoon to carry out urgent repair works.
The areas which would be affected are Gungbugh, Lalu sheeshgari bagh, Galwanpora, Jeelanabad, Humhama, Nadir Gund, Firdousabad Batamaloo, Soibugh, Haran, Dharmuna, Hamdania Colony,  Rakhe Arth, Zainakote, Old HMT, Gundi Hassi Bhat, Sozeith, Narbal, Ranbirgarh. The areas which will be partly affected are Maloora, Mujgund, Lawaypora Salfia Colony Aluchibagh SD Colony Batamaloo, Tengpora Bye Pass.
The residents of these areas are advised to limit the usage of water during this period to bare minimum and keep a judicious storage with them beforehand.

BUDGAM, JANUARY 05:  District Development Commissioner Budgam, Mohammad Harun Malik today felicitated Sairhaan-ul-Islam, a student of Class III of Alpine Institute of Modern Education in Sonpha Beerwah for winning a gold medal in ‘3rd South Asian International Karate Kickboxing Championship 2017’.

The DDC praised the grit and determination of the boy who has made not only the district but the entire state proud and hoped that his success would inspire other children to emulate the same. On the occasion, the DDC handed over sports kit as a token of appreciation.

‘8 persons arrested, 22 FIRs registered against culprits’
BUDGAM, JANUARY 5: Highlighting the steps taken by the district administration to curb soil excavation and prevent further vandalizing of the fertile karewas, Deputy Commissioner, Budgam Mohammad Harun Malik today revealed 32 tippers and four machines including JCB and L&T were seized for illegally supplying the soil during the previous year.
Chairing a meeting to review the present status of the action taken against the tippers, machines and person involved in illegal soil excavation, the DC further revealed that 22 FIRs were also registered at Budgam Police Station, while as eight accused persons have been arrested during the past year.
The meeting was attended by the ADC Budgam, Mohammad Farooq Dar, DSP Hqr Budgam and SHO Police station Budgam.
Appreciating his employees for the commendable work, DDC urged the concerned to redouble their efforts to ensure that no illegal excavation takes place anywhere in the district and directed to immediately seize tippers and other machinery if found involved in the illegal soil excavation activity.
The DC said that the illegal soil excavation is adversely affecting the topography and vandalizing the Budgam Karewas. He stressed that police in collaboration with the Geology and Mining department should keep a check on the tippers supplying soil illegally from the district.

He also stressed on the establishing of checkpoints and conducting of night raids to curb the illegal soil excavation and directed concerned to take stringent action against the accused. He asserted on regular checks by the concerned, adding only those tippers which are permitted for the Rakh Aarth filling and other government projects should be allowed to transport the soil.
