SRINAGAR, MAY 31: Minister for Forest, Environment and Ecology, Rajiv Jasrotia chaired the meeting to discuss diversion of forest land clearance cases under forest conservation act pertaining to Northern Railways, NHPC, PDC, PDD, IRCON, PMGSY, PWD and R&B departments in all the forest divisions of J&K here today.
Commissioner Secretary Saurabh Bhagat, Principal Chief Conservator Forests M M Pant, Officer on Special Duty with Forest Minister N S Jamwal, and representatives from Northern Railways, CVPP, NHPC, PDC, IRCON, PMGSY, PDD, PWD and R&B departments.
Forest minister on the occasion sought status of forest land clearance cases in twin divisions of Jammu and Kashmir and directed immediate disposal of pending cases.
The meeting was informed that so far 811 cases regarding forest land were sanctioned.
All the representatives from these departments presented their progress report regarding projects completed and number of pending cases till date.
Jasrotia directed concerned officials to submit cases on fast track basis in a time bound manner so that these projects are completed well in time.

UDHAMPUR, MAY 23: District Development Commissioner,   Ravinder Kumar today reviewed the progress on highway widening work between Udhampur-Chenani sections here at a meeting of line departments and representatives of National Highway Authority of India (NHAI)and Contractor Company.    
Detailed discussion were held on various issues regarding  compensation of damages occurred beyond ROW, providing of foot bridge/ Access at Bharat Nagar apart from Bridges at Ambedkar Chowki, construction of protection wall at village Jakhani, construction of sub way at Sangoor Chowk, construction of two way link of NH-44 with Dhar road near Broadway Hotel Thanda Paddar, Shifting of acquired building from CRPF at Jakhani and Dharmthal , repair of PDC building and construction of alternate shed for CRPF at Dharmthal, Blasting permission to Gammon India Ltd.
The DDC directed the Project Director, NHAI to adopt appropriate measures to decongest the traffic along Gole Mela Chowk to National Highway.
He also directed the concerned departments to remove public utilities/bottlenecks before the upcoming Amar nath Yatra and to ensure time bound completion of expansion work.
He asked the concerned officers to resolve the issues  of paucity of drinking water supply and   construction of retaining wall along the NH for the safety of public assets on priority.
The meeting was attended by SSP, Rayees Bhat, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Krishan Lal,  Project Director NHAI,  SDM, Chenani Davinder Sharma DSP Traffic, Tehsildar, Udhampur Ved Parkash, Manager, Gammon India Limited besides other officers were present in the meeting.
