SRINAGAR, MARCH 27:  Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Rohit Kansal today visited Pampore and reviewed the construction work of government residential buildings meant for State government employees.
Kansal was accompanied by Chief Engineer, R&B, Deputy Director Estates, Executive Engineer, Estates, SE R&B and other officials.
He inspected pace of work of nine blocks  comprising of  144 flats. While inspecting various constructions works, Kansal directed the concerned officers to ensure timely completion of the vital project.
Kansal was informed that the work is being executed in double shifts and the two blocks comprising 16 flats each will be completed by April end and the entire project will be completed by August 2018.
Later Kansal visited the Civil Secretariat and inspected the face lifting works being executed by Estates Department. He directed the officials to complete the work at an earliest.
He also visited Alochibagh where the 93 kanals of state land under the possession of Sericulture is proposed for the transfer to Estates Department for the construction of residential quarters for the accommodation of state government employees.

SRINAGAR, MARCH 03: The Government has declared the area falling on both sides of the Srinagar-Jammu National Highway from Kadalbal, Pampore to Merzapora, Awantipora as No-Construction Zone.
“It has become imperative and expedient to safeguard the Srinagar-Jammu National Highway and maintain its pristine glory especially on virgin lush-green land. It is accordingly notified that the areas falling on both sides of the highway from Kadalbal, Pampore to Merzapora, Awantipora are No-Construction Zone and are accordingly prohibited for land-filling,” said a notification issued by District Development Commissioner Pulwama.
It said anybody found violating these instructions shall be ealt with strictly under the norms and the constructions raised/land filling done shall be demolished/excavated at the cost of the owners of such constructions/land fills.
The Notification further said that the Divisional Commissioner Kashmir has, vide Order No: DivCom/LAS/1566(E)/2827 dated: 17-06-2017 already banned such constructions on both sides of the highway.

PAMPORE, OCTOBER 30: Minister of State for Forest, Environment, Animal, Sheep Husbandry, Fisheries and Cooperative, Mir Zahoor Ahmad today distributed 12500 poultry birds free of cost among the families of village Chattlampora in Pampore Constituency.
The funds in this regard have been released by the Minister out of his Constituency Development Fund (CDF).
            The Village Chattlam has been adopted as Poultry Village which is of its first kind in the State of Jammu and Kashmir. The Minister expressed hope that the people of the village will optimally utilize this scheme to further boost their business thus raising their socio-economic standards.
            District Development Commissioner, Pulwama G M Dar, Director Animal Husbandry Kashmir, Muhammad Yousuf Chaproo, Chief Animal Husbandry Pulwama and other district administration officers besides a good number of people were present on the occasion.
            Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said that Backyard poultry rearing has many benefits and it is profitable for rural areas. He said that the Department of Animal Husbandry has already been given directions to aware general masses about the schemes launched by the Government besides providing them latest technical know how about the benefits of poultry rearing. He said the concerned department also been asked to ensure every possible help to the poultry rearing at their door steps so that maximum lot to be benefited by the schemes and programmes of the Government.
            Referring to the development of Chatlam Sar, the Minister said that a Detailed Project Report (DPR) was earlier prepared for the purposes. He said an amount of Rs 25 lakh has been sanctioned for the purpose and the work on the development of Chattlam Sar will be started soon.
            The Minister further said that delivery of basic amenities to people at their door steps is among priorities of present Government headed by the Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti. He enjoined upon the Officers to work with more and dedication and to ensure availability of basic amenities including essentialities to the people, particularly during ensuring winter months.

            The Minister said that liberal funding has been earmarked for undertaken various developmental works under various sectors in Pampore Constituency during the current fiscal but need is to utilize them in full and judiciously. Mir Zahoor said that the directions have already been given to the concerned departments to achieve the targets in a time bound manner so that maximum lot benefited.

Inspect ongoing works at Spice Park

            SRINAGAR, OCTOBER 28: Minister for Agriculture Ghulam Nabi Lone Hanjura and Minister for Forests, Ecology and Environment, Animal and Sheep Husbandry Mir Zahoor Ahmad today had an extensive tour of Saffron fields in Pampore and took stock of various ongoing works under Saffron Mission.
         The ministers also visited Spice Park at Dusoo Pampore had a review meeting with senior officers working under NSM.
          The Ministers visited Munpora, Latpora, Dusoo and several other villages and took stock of sprinkles being constructed under the NSM.
          The ministers visited Spice Park Dusoo, where they had a review meeting with officers of the Saffron Mission and had interacted with saffron growers.   
          Hanjura on the occasion said that the Spice Park would be equipped with hi-tech machinery for processing, drying, grading, and packing of saffron. Besides, the park would be equipped with quality control laboratory, e-auction centre, garbage and waste utilization among other latest facilities for saffron growers.
          Hanjura said the objective of establishing the park is to revive the saffron cultivation on modern lines by providing the farmers with latest technology to increase their income.
          Highlighting the importance of the crop, the Minister said saffron is the trademark of Kashmiri culture and heritage and collective efforts are needed to preserve it.
          Hanjura said the successful beginning of implementation of saffron mission would definitely show enthusiasm in rejuvenation of saffron culture.
          Hanjura on the occasion directed the concerned departments to complete the digging work of 124 wells by 31 December this year.
          On the occasion, Mir Zahoor Ahmad said that the project is nearing to its completion and is expected to overcome irrigation facilities to Saffron fields.
          He said that 99 percent of people of his constituency are directly or indirectly related to Saffron production and National saffron mission is a hope for them to regain its old glory.    
          Mir Zahoor also said that aim of introducing centrally funded Saffron Mission in the state was to have a quality control and e-marketing facilities for saffron growers at their doorstep.
          On the occasion, a large number of Saffron growers also had an interaction with the Ministers and put forth their demands and grievances. The ministers assured them that their genuine demands would be resolved on priority bases.

          Principal Secretary Agriculture Production Sundeep Kumar Naik, Deputy Commissioner Pulwama, Ghulam Mohammad Dar, Director Agriculture Kashmir Altaf Ajaz Andrabi and other officials of the department were present.

Asks Officers ensure early drinking water facilities to Batipora Ladoo, Androosa villages


SRINAGAR, OCTOBER 23: Minister of State for Forest, Environment, Animal, Sheep Husbandry, Fisheries and Cooperative, Mir Zahoor Ahmad reviewed the status of ongoing schemes in Public Health Engineering (PHE) sector in Pampore Constituency at a meeting of officers and engineers today.
            The meeting was told that under National Rural Drinking Water Supply Programme (NRDWP), the construction work on Water Supply Schemes (WSS) Samboor, Konibal New, Neehama, Galandher and WSS Zabdaji are under execution in Pampore Constituency and work on these projects are in full swing. These schemes are expected to cost Rs 18.37 crore out of which Rs 9.58 crore stand expended so far. It was given out that out of 5 WSSs, 2 are nearing completion. On completion of all five WSSs it will benefit more than 37480 souls of these areas, the meeting was told.
It was also informed in the meeting that under Kacharary land Compensation (KLC) the construction work on WSS Lethapora is a apace and are expected to be completed soon.
Taking stock of water supply facility to Batipora Ladoo and Androosa villages, Mir Zahoor directed the concerned officers to make special arrangements for early providing of drinking water facilities to these villages. 
Addressing the meeting, the Minister impressed upon the engineers to complete all ongoing schemes in a time bound schedule so that people get the benefits well in time. He asked the engineers to undertake work on a scheme when fully assured about the dependability of a source. He also asked them to conduct survey of the area and identify the habitations who have scarcity of drinking water facility and ensure early providing of drinking water facility to them.
          He said as Government headed by the Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti is committed to provide adequate drinking water facilities to the people in every nook and corner of the State.

            The meeting was attended by the Chief Engineer, PHE, Kashmir, Abdul Wahid, Joint Director Planning, PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control, Superintendent Engineer, Hydraulic Shopian and other Senior Officers of PHE Department.

230 KM road length in Pulwama under upgradation at a cost of Rs 200 cr; 4-lanning of Pampore-Pulwama road to be taken up under World Bank funding
SRINAGAR, OCTOBER 21: A road length of 53 KMs has been macadamized in Tral constituency of district Pulwama under the connectivity upgradation programme launched by the Government.
Rebutting the news report published in a section of the press today, a spokesman of the Public Works Department said it is factually incorrect as the situation on the ground is contrary to what has been reported by the newspaper.
He said it is for the first time during the past two decades that a road upgradation programme has been undertaken in Tral area on such a massive scale, despite frequent disturbances in the area.
Quoting figures the spokesman said that out of the 11.50 KM road length from Awantipora to Tral via Dadasara, 10 KMs already stand widened and macadamised. "Similarly, out of the 9 KM road length from Awantipora to Tral via Nowdal, 6 KMs stand widened and macadamized," he said and added that Pinglish, Arigam and Bathnoor roads alaos stand macadamized while the roads to Kuchmullah, Lurgam and Nader have been sanctioned for upgradation under CRF at a cost of Rs 18 crore as a part of Tral-Aripal-Wagad road project.
Giving details of other road communication projects taken up for upgradation in Tral area, the spokesman said that these include Tral-Mandoora road, Pinglish-Rathsuna road, Tral-Kahil-Nabal road, interior roads at Tral, Hurdmir-Buchoo road including Bahoo, Rajpora, Mandoora Junction to Bathnoor, Dobiwan-Kahil road, Charsoo-Amlar road including Noorpora links.
He said a vital bridge near Chandrigam on Awantipora-Dadasara-Tral road costing Rs 3 crore was also opened for traffic recently.
The spokesman said under the renewed road upgradation programme, 230 KM road length is being upgraded in district Pulwama at an estimated cost of around Rs 200 crore. He said a project costing Rs 40 crore has been sanctioned under World Bank funding for 4-lanning of Pampore-Pulwama road.
“Around 30 important roads and bridges have been taken up for upgradation and reconstruction in district Pulwama under various centrally and state-funded schemes,” said the spokesman.
He said out of the 30 connectivity projects taken up for upgradation, work has been fully completed on eight projects including upgradation of 14 KM road from national highway near Sangam upto Industrial Growth Centre Lassipora at an estimated cost of Rs 7.50 crore,  construction of bridge at Zahidbagh, Litter at an estimated cost of Rs 2.83 crore, upgradation of 7 KM long Lassipora-Arihal-Khamri road at an estimated cost of Rs 6.92 crore, construction of bridge near Machpuna on Pulwama-Payer road costing Rs 1.97 crore, construction of bridge near Rangmulla on Pulwama-Tahab-Lassipora road costing Rs 2.43 crore, construction of bridge near Mugalpora on Pulwama-Payer road costing Rs 1.73 crore, construction of bridge near Chatripora on Drusso-Chatripora road costing Rs 1.41 crore and construction of bridge near Chandrigam on Awantipora-Dadasara-Tral road costing Rs 3 crore.

He said work is going on in full swing on remaining connectivity projects in the district including construction of Circular Road Pulwama costing Rs 28.27 crore, upgradation of Pulwama-Tahab-Lassipora road costing Rs 18 crore, upgradation of Wakharwan-Badriwan-Renzipora and Dahwatoo-Gulzarpora-Beighpora roads costing Rs 3 crore, upgradation of Darul Aloom Karewa and Panzgam-Reshipora roads costing Rs 3 crore, upgradation of Bellow-Drubgam-Shadimarg road costing Rs 9.27 crore, upgradation of Drubgam-CB Nath-Achgooz road costing Rs 11.70 crore, upgradation of Alaipora-Lassipora road via Achan and Nilloora-Chakoora road costing Rs 6.87 crore, upgradation of Shadimarg-Qasbayar-CB Nath road costing Rs.2.87 crore, upgradation of Drubgam-Aglar-Pakharpora road costing Rs.3.93 crore, upgradation of Rahmoo-Bachinard road including interior roads of Kamrazpora costing Rs.2.95 crore, upgradation of Mitrigam-Akhal-Drubgam road costing Rs.2.94 crore, construction of bridge over Sasar Nallah at Rajpora on Rajpora-Haal road costing Rs.4.98 crore, construction of bridge over Sasar Nallah at Arabal on Bellow, Arabal, Nikas road costing Rs.4.98 crore, upgradation of road from National Highway near LPG bottling plant to Andrasoo via Gas Turbine Konibal costing Rs.11.89 crore and upgradation of interior roads at Kandizal and Khadermoh costing Rs.3.00 crore.

8 parks to be developed in Pampore: Minister
SRINAGAR, SEPTEMBER 25: Minister of State for Forest, Environment, Animal, Sheep Husbandry, Cooperative and Fisheries, Mir Zahoor Ahmad Monday said that the families living in village Kandizal MC Awantipora in district Pulwama to be covered under 'Housing for All'.
This was decided in an officers meeting chaired by the Minister convened to review the overall progress of construction of different works carried by the Municipal Committees of Pampore, Awantipora and Khrew here today.
The Minister asked the authorities of Urban Local Bodies (ULB) Department to conduct special survey of the area and prepare a Detailed Project Report (DPR) in this regard and start work on the project immediately. He asked them to construct individual latrine points to all in the village and also instructed them to install 5 LED lights there.
It was decided in the meeting that the Department will provide two  Hopper Vans each to Municipal Committee Pampore and Khrew soon to meet out the required needs.
Taking stock of working of Municipal Committee Pampore, the Minister asked the concerned to start construction work for up-gradation and development of 8 Parks in the Pampore and ensure timely completion of their work.
The Minister asked the concerned to demolish all illegal structures in Pampore Town and ensure that there should be no encroachment on State land.
While discussing the achievement registered in Municipal Committee Awantipora,   it was informed in the meeting that 40 LED lights with an estimated cost of Rs 1.30 lakh were installed and the construction work on various ongoing developmental works under Integrated Development of Medium Towns (IDMT), Urban Development Sector (UDS), Normal and Constituency Development Fund (CDF) are apace in the area.
The Minister asked them to work with utmost dedication and speed up the pace of work on all ongoing works and complete them in a stipulated time frame.
Mir Zahoor directed the ULB Department to start construction work on Shopping Complex at Awantipora for which he announced for release of an amount of Rs 5 lakh out of CDF. He also asked them that the shopping complex should be modern and Mall type.
Detailed discussions were also held on status of works executed under different heads in Municipal Committee Khrew during 2017-2018. It was informed in the meeting that 80 LED lights were repaired and 60 LED lights were installed in the area. It was also given in the meeting that 12 different types of works were taken up at an estimated cost of Rs 86.68 lakh in Khrew area and the construction work on these projects are apace.
Mir Zahoor directed for construction of public Park and Shelter Shed at Khrew. He also asked authorities of MC Khrew to speed up the tendering process of all developmental works within a week’s time.
The UEED authorities informed the meeting that a drainage scheme project Khrew stands already submitted to the concerned quarter for accord of their approval.
During the meeting, issues of Zaffron Sumo Associations were also discussed and the Minister directed the concerned to settle their genuine issues on priority.
Addressing the meeting, the Minister said that the present Government headed by Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti was taking appropriate measures for upgrading the civic facilities in all Municipal Committees of the State. He said special focus is on the development of roads, cleanliness, improvement of drainage system and equal attention is being paid for the beautification of the towns. He asked the officers to redouble their efforts and ensure that the available funds should be utilized in full and judiciously. Mir Zahoor also asked them to achieve the fixed targets of the current fiscal in full.

The meeting was attended by the Director, ULB Kashmir Riyaz Ahmad and other Senior Officers of Local and Urban Development Department and UEED.

Interacts with saffron growers, assures to address grievances


PAMPORE, SEPTEMBER 21: Principal Secretary, Agriculture Production Department, Sundeep Kumar Nayak on Thursday visited Spice Park at Dussu Pampore.
He was accompanied by Director Agriculture Kashmir, Syed Altaf Aijaz Andrabi, Chief Scientist Saffron Research Station SKUAST-K Prof. Dr. F.A. Nehvi and other officers of the department.
During his visit, Principal Secretary visited different sections of the Spice Park and was briefed by the concerned officers about various facilities for preserving, grading, processing and marketing of saffron.
An interactive session was held also in which different saffron growers’ associations raised various issues and demands, including blanket ban on imported saffron, establishment of registered outlets for the sale of saffron across the country.
Representatives of saffron growers also demanded establishment of grievance cell to address various technical issues faced by the growers, besides an assured irrigation facility.
Sundeep Kumar Nayak assured the representatives of saffron growers associations that their genuine demands and issues will be addressed at earliest. He said the Spice Park establishment will be a solution to all their grievances and will help in boosting economy as saffron will be sold, graded and imported to various countries from this platform only. He said saffron will be sealed and certified in valley that will be a trademark for Kashmiri saffron.”

Director Agriculture Kashmir while addressing the gathering said that every possible support and technical expertise to the saffron growers will be provided by the department of agriculture.

'Govt committed to Mufti Sayeed's developmental vision for JK'

PAMPORE, SEPTEMBER 07: Minister of State for Forest, Environment, Animal, Sheep Husbandry, Fisheries and Cooperatives, Mir Zahoor Ahmad, has said that numerous developmental projects have been sanctioned for Pampore Constituency to develop it on modern lines.
Addressing the Youth of Pampore Constituency at Town Hall Pampore today, the Minister said that Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti is ardently interested in the development of Pampore Constituency. He said the infrastructural development is a top priority of the Government and that efforts are underway to improve the socio-economic profile of people of all three regions of the State.
The Minister said liberal funding has been released for various developmental works under different sectors in Pampore Constituency. He also said sufficient funds have also been released for upgrading and improvement of power infrastructure in the Constituency under the Constituency Development Fund (CDF).
Referrimng to the demands of the locals, the Minister said he was aware of the concerns of the Constituency and said that directions have issued to the concerned to ensure redressal of genuine demands of the people.

Speaking on the occasion, Mir Zahoor said the Government is committed to the late Mufti’s political and developmental vision for J&K as a Model State in the country.

Srinagar, Aug 17 :  Normal life was once again crippled in south Kashmir district of Pulwama, where a ''district commander'' of Lashkar-e-Taiba was killed in a brief encounter with security forces. Even though there was no strike call given by any separatist organisation, shops and business establishments were closed and traffic was off the roads in Pulwama, where mobile services remained suspended since yesterday evening to prevent spread of rumours on social media. However, traffic on the Srinagar-Jammu National Highway was plying normally though security forces remained deployed in strength to prevent any protests. District Magistrate of Pulwama had ordered closure of educational institutions as precautionary measure in Pampore and Kakpora tehsils in the district. But, class work in all educational institutes, including government and private schools, in the district was suspended today as students preferred to stay indoors in the wake of situation. Work in government offices and banks was also affected in the district while train service was again been suspended on Srinagar-Banihal track via south Kashmir for security reasons. Officials told  that there were no restrictions in any parts of the Pulwama. However, people alleged that all roads leading to Kakapora has been sealed to prevent people from participating in the funeral of the slain militant at his ancestral village Lelhar. PULWAMA, AUGUST 16: Deputy Commissioner Pulwama today chaired a meeting to review the preparations for  starting a drive against bhang cultivation in the District.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Pulwama, Executive Engineers of R&B, Assistant floriculture officer, Tehsildar Tral, Kakapora, Pampore and Pulwama and other concerned officers were present in the meeting.
DDC told that the bung and other narcotics cultivation and related activities are dangerous for the entire society, particularly younger generation. He stressed on creating more awareness so that the drug menace is eradicated completely from the society.
  He said   that in this connection a massive drive will be started against bung cultivation in Pulwama District on 26th of this month at Charsoo Pulwama where large number of people including senior civil officers, civil society members and common people will take part in the destroying the bung along road sides and river banks.
He directed the concerned officers to provide equipment like brush cutters, sticks and sickles, so that maximum number of people can participate in the drive.

Also inaugurates JK Bank branch; Says Govt taking every possible measure to promote enterprise in the State
SEMPORA(PAMPORE), AUGUST 09: Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti today laid the foundation of Centre for Training & Skill Development and Centre for Incubation and Business Acceleration at the Entrepreneurship Development Institute (EDI) here.
These Centres, first of its kind in the State, would augment the training activities for young entrepreneurs at the EDI. The need for an Incubation Centre was felt for long to guide the freshly trained youth in arranging capital, material and market support for their projects. The project is expected to cost Rs. 27 crore and is expected to build the training capacity at the EDI by a great measure.
Addressing a large number of young entrepreneurs on the occasion, the Chief Minister said her Government would do all what it takes see that enterprise takes full roots in the State. She said today she laid the foundation stone of an Industrial Estate at Wyun with the objective of providing unit holding facilities to young entrepreneurs.
Mehbooba Mufti said she was happy to see many young boys and girls standing up on their feet confidently and providing livelihood to many others. This confidence, she said,  needs to be built and multiplied to create a generation of young, successful  and enterprising entrepreneurs in the State who would not be dependent on the Government but contributing significantly to the State’s economy and society.
The Chief Minister appreciated the role of EDI and its management in churning out professional and successful breed of young entrepreneurs who have started carving out their niche on the business canvas of the State. She said today’s addition of Incubation and Training Centres would greatly enhance the quality of training at the Institute.
On the occasion, the Chief Minister felicitated many young achievers from the EDI and also handed over letters among the 110 entrepreneurs whose credit facilitation cases were cleared by the steering committee of the EDI. She also launched the electronic transfer of seed capital into the accounts of the eligible entrepreneurs.
Director, EDI, Dr. M. I. Parray in his address welcomed the Chief Minister for her keen interest in the welfare and progress of these young entrepreneurs.
Earlier, the Chief Minister also inaugurated a business unit of JK Bank within the premises of EDI. This was a major demand of the young entrepreneurs when they met the Chief Minister in May.
Mehbooba Mufti also visited the stalls put up by the trained and successful entrepreneurs of the EDI. She enquired from them about their businesses, difficulties and future plans.
