BANDIPORA, OCTOBER 03: The Second Randomization of Polling staff for upcoming Municipal Elections 2108 for three Municipal Committees Bandipora, Sumbal and Hajin was held here today under the supervision of District Election Officer Bandipora, Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary.
The Randomization process was attended by all the observers, ROs and AROs besides ADDC and ACR.

GANDERBAL, SEPTEMBER 24: The District Election Officer (DEO), Ganderbal, Dr. Piyush Singla today reviewed the security arrangements to be made for the conduct of Municipal Elections – 2018 in the district. 
The meeting was attended by SSP Ganderbal, ADC Ganderbal, all ROs, AROs, officers of Army and Police department, besides other officers of district Administration.
Threadbare discussions were held regarding security action plan to be put forth during the election process in the meeting.
The security agencies assured foolproof security arrangements for the candidates and voters will be put in place to ensure smooth and incident free elections in the district.
Further the DEO directed all the concerned to work according to the directions issued by the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) to ensure smooth and fair elections in the district.

UDHAMPUR, SEPTEMBER 20: District Election Officer, Udhampur  Ravinder Kumar today informed that the nomination papers of the contesting candidates in the district for upcoming ULB polls shall be submitted in the office of RO/ARO.
 The DEO further said that a total of 55 ROs and AROs have been appointed for completing the election process for one Municipal Council and two Municipal Committees of the district and there are 68 polling stations established at different locations of 41 wards for 35,519 voters to cast their vote.

GANDERBAL, SEPTEMBER 18: In order to ensure smooth conduct of Municipal elections in 17 Wards of the Ganderbal Municipal Committee, District Development Commissioner Ganderbal, Dr Piyush Singla who is also the District Election Officer, has appointed 04 Returning Officers (ROs) and 08 Assistant Returning Officers (AROs) with the issuance of notification by Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) for the conduct of Municipal Elections 2018.
 Shabir Ahmad Matto, Chief horticulture officer Ganderbal, Mohsin Ali Khan, Superintendent ITI, Ganderbal, Abdul Majeed Tantray, Assistant Labour Commissioner, Ganderbal and Dr. Abdul Majeed Bhat, District Sheep Husbandry Officer, Ganderbal are appointed as Returning Officers. Besides, Abdul Razak Mir, Agricultural Extension Officer (AEO), Ganderbal, Ghulam Naqashbandh Agricultural Extension Officer (AEO) Ganderbal, Dr Younis Farooq (VAS) DSHO, Ganderbal, Imran Ali, Asstt. Engineer, PMGSY Ganderbal, Mohd Saleem Darzi (H.D.O) CHO Ganderbal, Khursheed Khali I/C Functional Manager, DIC Ganderbal, Mushtaq Ahmad Bhat, (AEE) Sonamarg Development Authority, Ganderbal and Sunil Gupta, HDO Chief Horticulture officer Ganderbal are appointed as Assistant Returning Officers. Besides, Manzoor Ahmad, District Mineral Officer, Geology and Mining Ganderbal is appointed as Assistant Returning Officer Headquarter, (ARO Headquarter).
As per the schedule issued from the office of CEO, date of issuance of notification is on 24th September, last date for making nomination is on 01stOctober, date of scrutiny is 03rd October, last date of withdrawal is 05th October and date of polling is 16th October, 2018. Polling timing has been kept from 7 am to 2 pm.
Nodal officers have been appointed for various activities related to the smooth, free & fair conduct of Municipal Elections-2018. Besides, as per office order, all the civilians and retired force personals possessing valid arms license in jurisdiction of District Ganderbal have been asked to deposit their arms/ammunitions at local concerned police stations by or before 21th September-2018.

          LEH, SEPTEMBER 18: District Election Officer (DEO) Leh, AvnyLavasa, today appointed Administrator, Municipal Committee, Leh, Rigzin Spalgon as Assistant Returning Officer (ARO, Headquarters).
          As per the order issued here, the newly appointed ARO shall receive nomination papers on behalf of all Returning Officers for Municipal Elections and transfer the same to the concerned ROs on a daily basis.

BUDGAM SEPTEMBER 17: The District Election Officer, Deputy Commissioner Budgam, Dr Syed Sehrish Asgar today chaired a meeting of ROs, AROs and nodal officers to review preparedness for the upcoming Municipal Body elections here today.
The DEO said as the dates for the upcoming Municipal polls have been declared, the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) has come into force across all the wards of the district with immediate effect.
At the outset, the DEO while addressing the designated officers directed them to make coordinated efforts for the smooth conduct of polls. They were directed to ensure videography of poll-related activities, daily updation of nominated candidates along with their affidavits and details, CCTV installation at the warehouse and strong rooms besides at counting centers.  
The DEO directed the designated officers to ensure proper scrutiny, filling up of nominations, rejection of nominations and qualification of nominations and completion of polling process through the set pro-forma. She also directed designated officers to ensure that all the arrangements are put in place at all polling stations in advance, besides ensuring safekeeping and proper lock and key mechanism at collection centres and strong rooms. 
On the occasion, training about the smooth handling of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs), study material about the smooth conduct of polls and electoral rolls were also distributed among the ROs and AROs.

UDHAMPUR, SEPTEMBER 17: In view of the   forthcoming Municipality Elections, District Election Officer, Ravinder Kumar today appointed Returning Officers (RO’s) and Assistant Returning Officers, (ARO’s) for the three Municipalities of the district.
The schedule for the Municipality Elections was already announced by the Chief Electoral Officer, J&K.
District Election Officer, Udhampur appointed 14 Returning Officers and 41 Assistant Returning Officers for 41 Municipality wards of the district for smooth conduct of Municipality Election.
          Earlier, the DEO briefed ROs & AROs about the preparations and activities to be carried out in the district for upcoming Municipality elections. He   asked them to work with full dedication, impartiality and create a free and fair environment to boost morale and faith of voters in democracy and to ensure maximum participations in the elections.
The DEO asked the ROs & AROs and Nodal Officers to follow the elections guidelines and conduct the elections in a free, fair and transparent manner. He urged upon all the Officers to work in close coordination so that the ULB election are conducted successfully in the District.
Among others present were (Probationer), Santosh Sukhdeve, Dy DEO, Sapna Kotwal, District Information Officer, Er. Sajad Bashir Somberia, Dy Registrar Cooperative, Dr. Pardeep Singh besides other Officers/ Officials of concerned department were present on the occasion.


KARGIL, SEPTEMBER 6: First training for Returning Officers (ROs) and Assistant Returning Officers (AROs) imparted by the DLMTs today at Conference Hall, Baroo Kargil for conduct of Municipal Elections 2018 in respect of Municipal Committee Kargil.
Four ROs, Seven AROs including Deputy District Election Officer, Kargil and Master Trainers Sub Divisional Magistrate, Chikten, DEPO Kargil and other concerned officers attended the training programme.
The 2nd and 3rd training shall be held on September 8th and 10th in the Conference Hall, Baroo respectively.
Master Trainer SDM, Shakar Chiktan, Ghulam Mehdi while interacting with the trainers sensitized the participants about the nomination process, security of nomination forms, withdrawal of  candidature and allotment of symbol.
The Master Trainer thanked the participants on the occasion. Earlier, two EVM Master Trainers briefed the trainers about the EVM.
Meanwhile, with the announcement of Special Summary Revision of Photo Electoral Rolls with reference to 01-01-2019 across the country by the Election Commission of India, with effect from 01-09-2018, the Booth Level Officers have to play the key role at grass root level to make the entire revision process successful.
In this connection, the DLMTs and Resource Persons, Jr Steno, Kargil Development Authority (KDA) Kargil, Mohd Hadi and Incharge ERMS, Election Cell, DC office Kargil, Mohd Amin today imparted training to BLOs of Drass, Taisuru, Shakar Chiktan and Shergole Tehsils at Auditorium Hall Kargil.


RAMBAN SEPTEMBER 05:  One day training programme was organized today for Returning Officers (ROs), Assistant Returning Officers (AROs) Nodal Officers/Zonal and Sector Magistrates to update them about the forthcoming Municipal Elections (ME).
The training was held under the chairmanship of District Development Commissioner Ramban, Showkat Aijaz Bhat who is also the District Election Officer (DEO).
District Level Master Trainers ACR Ramban Vevaik Puri and SDM Ramsoo Viqar Giri besides Master Trainers sensitized the participants about Model Code of Conduct, Nomination Process, Scrutiny of Nomination forms, withdrawal of candidature and Allotment of Symbols.
Meanwhile, the DEO called upon the concerned officers to stay prepared well before the polls. He asked the officers to perform their duties with utmost dedication and strictly adhere to the guidelines of ECI for smooth conduct of Municipals polls.
  A power point presentation was given regarding scrutiny, filling up of nominations, rejection of nominations, qualification of nominations and completion of polling process till the conclusion of the declaration of the results.
Election Naib Tehsidar Hasham Din besides all ROs and AROs participated in the training progrmme.

BANDIPORA, JANUARY 15: The second phase of Panchayat Election Training (PET)for Returning Officers (ROs) and Assistance Returning Officers (AROs) of district Bandipora started here today.
The District Development Commissioner Bandipora, Sajjad Hussain, who is also District Panchayat Election Officer (DPEO) chaired the inaugural session.
Speaking on the occasion, the DPEO stressed upon the officers to make the training programme more vibrant and active and comprehend fully the training manual so that they can make understand further to polling officers and other subordinate staff.
He asked them to take an active part in the third phase of training also which is scheduled to be held on January 22 and 23.
On the occasion, it was informed that the district has a total 1126 panch constituencies and 150 Panchayat halqas.

Later, District Level Master Trainers (DLMT), Mohammed Rafiq Parray, Shiekh Ghulam Mohammed and Mohammed Iqbal Samoon gave the practical training to the ROs and AROs regarding the smooth conduct of Panchayat Elections in the district.
