Hyderabad, Feb 23 :  A 40-year-old CRPF jawan, part of a 14-member team, has been reported missing during a train journey from Delhi to Secunderabad here and a case registered, railway police sources said Saturday.

Saldesh Kumar, from Jammu and Kashmir, was found missing after the team arrived here by Telangana express train on February 20, according to the complaint lodged by an official of the paramilitary force.

Investigation was on to trace the jawan, they added.

The CRPF personnel were coming to their Group Centre at Hakimpet, Secunderabad, the sources said.                [Agencies]

Barauni (Bihar), Feb 17 :  Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday asserted that he shared the grief and outrage with the people of the nation in the wake of the terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir which claimed the lives of 40 CRPF personnel.

The prime minister, who was in this north Bihar town to launch a slew of projects, began his speech with a few lines in the local dialect Angika and paid tributes to two jawans from the state who died in the Pulwama attack.

"I salute and pay my tributes to Sanjay Kumar Sinha and Ratan Kumar Thakur. To the people who have gathered here, I would like to say the fire that is raging in your bosoms, is in my heart too," Modi said, evoking a thunderous response from the crowds.           PTI

New Delhi, Feb 15 :  Warning Pakistan that it cannot weaken India by orchestrating attacks such as the one on CRPF jawans in Pulwama, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday said those responsible will pay "a very heavy price" and security forces will be given a free hand to deal with terrorists.

In a hard-hitting speech, Modi said the "blood of the people is boiling" and forces behind the act of terrorism will be definitely be punished.

"Security forces have been given complete freedom, the blood of the people is boiling...Our neighbouring country, which has been isolated internationally, thinks such terror attacks can destabilise us, but their plans will not materialise," Modi said at a function to flag off the Vande Bharat Express, India's fastest train from Delhi to Varanasi.

On Thursday, an explosives laden truck rammed into a CRPF convoy in Pulwama outside Srinagar, killing 37 soldiers in one of the biggest terror attacks in recent years.

"My condolences to families of those martyred in Pulwama attack, those behind the terror strike will pay a very heavy price," Modi said.

"I am thankful to all nations which condemned Pulwama attack and urge them to come together to crush terrorism. The forces behind this act of terrorism and those responsible for it, will be definitely be punished," he said.

Appealing to his critics to not politicise the tragedy, Modi said the attacks have left the country emotional.

"I understand the sentiments of those criticising us but I urge them that it is an emotional time, so stay away from political one-upmanship," he said.

Earlier in the morning, after a meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Security, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley said India had withdrawn Pakistan's most favoured nation status and was working on a plan to isolate the country internationally in the wake of the attacks.

"The most favoured nation status to Pakistan stands revoked," Jaitley said.

Home Minister Rajnath Singh will be visiting Srinagar on Friday and would convene an all-party meeting most likely on Saturday to brief political parties on the incident so that the nation speaks in one voice on the issue.

The CCCS meet was chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to discuss the security scenario in Jammu and Kashmir in the wake of the Pulwama terror attack.                             PTI

Srinagar, Aug 17: An Army jawan was killed in an encounter with militants in Kupwara district of Jammu and Kashmir today, the police said.

Security forces launched a cordon and search operation at Kachloo village in Handwara area of Kupwara district following information about presence of militants there, a police official said.

The official said as the security forces were carrying out searches, the militants opened fire on them, resulting in injuries to one soldier.

The injured jawan was evacuated to 92 Base Hospital of the Army here but he succumbed to injuries, the official said.

The slain jawan was identified as Ram Babu Sahai.

The operation was called off as security forces found nothing incriminating during the searches, the official said. (PTI)

          SRINAGAR, JUNE 16: Deputy Chief Minister Dr. Nirmal Singh today condemned the killing of Jawan at Nawshera sector as well as the two police men who killed in separate incidents in valley.
          The Deputy Chief Minister said that these incidents are condemnable and the forces responsible for these kind of incidents would be given a befitting reply.

While expressing sympathies with the braved families, the Deputy Chief prayed for  peace to the  departed souls.
