Jammu  23 June: On the occasion of Sab-e-Qadar and Eid, an iftaar party was organized by the residents of Gujjar Nagar, in which a large number of people from various communities participated.
The party was held under the Chairmanship of President, Ward no 6, Gujjar Nagar, Mohd Hussain Malik and Rafiq Malik. The party was organized in the premises of Girls Higher Secondary School and attended by a number of leaders of various political parties and other social organistaions.
The Inspector General of Police, Jammu, SDS Jamwal was the chief guest on the occasion, while SSP Jammu was the guest of honour.
Speaking on the occasion, IG Jammu, SDS Jamwal gives his best compliments to the residents and the organizers of the Iftaar party and said that this is very good that the people from various communities are participated in this iftaar party. He further urged upon the people to organize such functions as this is very necessary for a healthy and peaceful society.
Among others who participated in the function included members of Rajinder Bazar traders federation, Krishan Lal Gupta, Arjun Gupta, PDP senior leaders, Mohd Akrma, Shafaqat Khokhar,Dr Rehman Din Malik. The participants lauded the efforts of Muslim federation for maintaining peace in the Jammu region. The programme was      conducted by Anwar Chowdhary.

                HANDWARA, JUNE 22: Additional Deputy Commissioner Handwara today finalized the arrangements for celebrations of Shab-i-Qadr, Jumat-ul-Vida and Eid-ul-Fitr in officers meeting today.
The meeting was attended by all concerned officers of various departments.
The Additional Deputy Commissioner stressed the concerned authorities for ensuring proper sanitation around Eid Gahs, Masjids besides installing LED lamps besides keeping available medical facilities at the places where big congregation takes place. He directed the Municipal authorities to conduct pre-festival and post festival cleanliness drives and ensure proper sanitation and hygiene.
The market checking squads were directed to intensify checking of illegal profiteering, hoarding, black marketing and selling of low quality food items.
Regarding availability of LPG, Sugar and other essential commodities, CAPD department was directed to ensure an adequate supply of essential commodities.

Additional Deputy Commissioner directed PDD and PHE departments to ensure uninterrupted & scheduled power and drinking water supply during festival days.

SRINAGAR, JUNE 22- Minister of State for Hajj and Auqaf, Syed Farooq Ahmad Andrabi today directed the officers to synergize their efforts in order to ensure smooth celebrations of Shab-i-Qadr, Jumat -ul-Vida and Eid-ul-Fitr festivities.
The Minister was addressing officers during a review meeting convened to discuss the arrangement being made in connection with the smooth celebrations of Jumat -ul-Vida and Eid-ul-Fitr festivities.
The meeting was attended by IGP Traffic, DIG Central Kashmir, District Development Commissioner, Srinagar, Head of the various Departments, besides other concerned officers of various departments also attended the meeting.
The Minister stressed the concerned authorities for ensuring proper sanitation around Eidgahs, Masjids, besides also the installing of LED lamps and proper supply of electricity as well as drinking water. He also directed for keeping the requisite medical facilities at the places where big congregations take place.
Syed Andrabi also asked the Municipal authorities to put in place the requisite men and machinery for ensuring the requisite cleanliness of two main Eid gahs in the Capital cities and also those in districts and major towns.
The Minister asked the officers for proper market checking to check illegal profiteering and selling of low quality food items and take actions against the culprits on the spot. He also asked for keeping adequate supply of essential commodities so that the people do not face any inconvenience.

Taking stock of traffic and security related arrangements, the Minister asked the concerned to ensure that fool proof mechanism be put in place so that any untoward incidents are prevented and people are also provided with the requite facilities of transportation from main district headquarters to different places where big religious congregations are held.

SRINAGAR, JUNE 22:  Minister for Agriculture, Ghulam Nabi Lone Hanjura, today chaired a meeting to review the arrangements for auspicious occasions of Shab-e-Qadar, Juma-tul-vida and Eid-ul-fitr in Budgam district.
          Legislator Saif-u-Din Bhat, Deputy Commissioner Budgam, Mohammad Harun Malik, SSP Budgam Tejinder Sigh, ADC Budgam, besides senior officers of PDD, PHE, Health, Transport, Municipality and other departments attended the review meeting.    
                On the occasion, the Minister exhorted upon the concerned officers to ensure all the basic facilities’ to the people of the district and undertake cleanliness and sanitation measures in and around the worship places of Chrar-e-Sharief, Pakharpora and Makhama and other places, where a large number of devotees are expected to throng for prayers.  
          He directed the concerned to keep make arrangements for potable drinking water, adequate electric supply, and ambulances equipped with life-saving drugs and doctors at main congregation places.
          Hanjura also asked the officers to make foolproof security arrangements to ensure smooth and peaceful celebration of these holy occasions. He further directed the officials to make arrangements for smooth regulation of traffic and designate parking spots at various places to avoid traffic jams.
          During the meeting, the Minister was briefed that additional one kg sugar is being provided to each ration card holder of the district on the eve of the holy occasions, besides Animal Husbandry Department shall provide chickens through mobile vans on fair price rates at various locations in the district. He was informed that different market checking squads have been constituted to keep a check on profiteering, hoarding, and black marketing.
          The Minister stressed on intensifying market checking to ensure essentials are sold to customers at government approved rates only.

Directs authorities to extend all facilities to devotees during night long prayers,Friday prayers
SRINAGAR, JUNE 22: Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti has felicitated people of the State on the occasions of Shab-e-Qadr and Jumat ul Vida.
In her message, the Chief Minister said the blessed night, during which the Holy Quran was revealed, is an occasion for us to introspect our lives, seek Allah’s forgiveness, generosity and guidance. She appealed people to pray wholeheartedly during this night for peace, prosperity and brotherhood in the State.
As the Holy month of Ramadhan is drawing to close, Mehbooba Mufti appealed people to do as much charity as possible in these days and join the happy moments of the destitute, orphans, widows and other victims of fate.   “We owe to them as we have been commanded by Allah (SWT) and Zakat and Sadqat are the best way to bring these segments of society back into the mainstream of happiness and prosperity”, she said in her message.
The Chief Minister also appealed people to pray for seeking His blessings on the eve of Jumat ul Vida.

Meanwhile, the Chief Minister has directed the authorities of Wakf Board and Wakf Council, Divisional Administrations of Kashmir and Jammu to provide all facilities of drinking water, electricity, sanitation, traffic arrangements etc to the devotees at the shrines and mosques across the State during the night long prayers and on Jumat ul Vida.

SRINAGAR, JUNE 19: Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Dr. Farooq Ahmad Lone today reviewed the arrangements for celebrations of Shab-i-Qadr, Jumat-ul-Vida and Eid-ul-Fitr in an officers meeting today.
          The meeting was attended by ADC, SDM and the officers of CA&PD, PDD, PHE, R&B, Health, Veterinary, Police, Fire and Emergency Services, SMC besides other concerned officers of various departments also attended the meeting.
          The District Development Commissioner stressed the concerned authorities for ensuring proper sanitation around Eid Gahs, Masjids, installing LED lamps besides keeping available medical facilities at the places where big congregation takes place. He directed the Municipal authorities to put in place 25 grass cutters at Eid Gah Srinagar to make the ground smooth and ensure its cleanliness.
          The market checking squads were directed to intensify the checking of illegal profiteering and selling of low quality food items and take actions against the culprits on the spot.
          Regarding availability of LPG, Sugar and other essential commodities, CAPD department was directed to ensure adequate supply of essential commodities.
          The authorities of Veterinary Department informed the meeting that the department has kept available veterinary mobile trucks at various places of Srinagar city which contain dressed chicken @ 190/kg and undressed chicken @120/kg.

          District Development Commissioner directed PDD and PHE departments to ensure uninterrupted/scheduled power and drinking water supply during festival days.

POONCH, JUNE 14:   Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Tariq Ahmed Zargar today reviewed the arrangements for Jumat-ul-Vida, Shab-e- Qadr and Eid-ul-Fitr.

The meeting reviewed in detail the arrangements being put in place by district administration for the auspicious days.

Additional Superintendent of Police, Masroor Ahmed Mir, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Ashraf Choudhary, Executive Engineers and Assistant Executive Engineers of   PDD, PHE,AD FCS&CA, CEO municipality, Food Safety Officer, Assistant Controller Legal Metrology, Tehsildar Haveli, representatives from other concerned departments,  besides religious clerics and other representatives of various Muslim organizations were present in the meeting.

The functionaries apprised the Deputy Commissioner about the role and responsibilities of departments in ensuring effective delivery of service.  

The deputy commissioner asked PDD to   avoid unscheduled cuts during night prayers, while PHE department was asked to ensure regular supply of water during the auspicious days. It was decided to install temporary washrooms near Eidgah.

 The DC asked for intensifying market inspections to check quality of eatables and overcharging.

The DC stressed for close coordination among all concerned departments to ensure that all necessary arrangements are put in place well in time.  

Executive engineer PHE was directed to make temporary arrangement of washrooms near ‘Eidgah’ and ensure uninterrupted water supply during these days of Ramdhan and on the day of Jumat-ul-Vida and Eid- ul- Fitr.

Similarly, executive engineer PDD was asked to make some suitable arrangements of power supply and avoid un-scheduled power cuts to avoid any inconvenience to the people.

Municipal Corporation and Urban Local Bodies were asked to start cleanliness drive in the district under Swatch Bharat Mission and identify the suitable places where day to day   garbage can be dumped and disposed off.

The meeting was informed   that three month advanced ration items have been provided to the rationees and the exercise of providing kerosene oil to the targeted beneficiaries has also been started in the district.

The DC directed the concerned officers to start a drive for regular market checking in the evening hours to check unfair trade practices and   quality of eatables being provided to the consumers.

Meanwhile, the DC asked the concerned officers to carry similar exercises in rural areas of the district.
