Mumbai, Jun 13 :   Domestic equity benchmark BSE Sensex ended marginally lower while the NSE Nifty closed a tad higher Thursday amid mixed cues from domestic and global markets.

After plunging over 300 points during the day, the BSE gauge pared most losses to settle 15.45 points, or 0.04 per cent, lower at 39,741.36. The index hit an intra-day low of 39,461.27 and a high of 39,800.81.

The broader NSE Nifty inched up 7.85 points, or 0.07 per cent, to close at 11,914.05. During the day, the index touched a low of 11,817.05 and a high of 11,931.35.

Yes Bank was the biggest loser in the Sensex pack for the second consecutive session, plummeting 12.96 per cent, after Moody's placed the private sector lender's ratings under review for a possible downgrade.

IndusInd Bank, Infosys, Maruti, Vedanta, Hero MotoCorp, Tata Motors, ONGC and RIL too fell up to 4.96 per cent.

Top gainers included PowerGrid, M&M, Kotak Bank, Bajaj Finance, Bharti Airtel and HDFC twins, rising up to 1.54 per cent.

According to experts, market mood was subdued amid rising uncertainty over trade talks between the US and China.

However, losses were capped as investors took positive cues from factory output numbers, released after market hours on Wednesday.

India's industrial output grew to a six-month high of 3.4 per cent in April mainly on account of improvement in mining and power generation, while retail inflation spiked to a seven-month high of 3.05 per cent in May, though remaining within the RBI's comfort level.

Elsewhere in Asia, while Shanghai Composite Index rose marginally, Hang Seng, Nikkei and Kospi ended in the red.

On the other hand, stock exchanges in Europe were trading in the green in early deals.

On the currency front, the Indian rupee depreciated 16 paise to 69.51 against the US dollar intra-day.

Brent crude futures, the global oil benchmark, rallied 3.54 per cent to USD 62.09 per barrel, amid conflicting reports of an attack and an accident involving two oil tankers in the Gulf of Oman.  [Agencies]

Mumbai, Aug 3: The benchmark Sensex staged a strong comeback in early trade today gaining over 250 points on widespread buying by participants in rate-sensitive realty, auto and banking stocks.

The 30-share index was trading higher by 253.38 points, or 0.68 per cent, at 37,418.54.

All the sectoral indices, led by realty, auto, banking, healthcare, infrastructure, power, oil and gas, PSU and metal, recovered up to 1 per cent.

The 30-share Sensex had lost 441.42 points in the previous two sessions.

The NSE Nifty reclaimed the 11,300 mark, by rising 70.55 points, or 0.62 per cent, to 11,315.25.

Major gainers were Kotak Bank, ONGC, Axis Bank, HDFC, Yes Bank, RIL, TCS, M&M, Sun Pharma, Power Grid, Vedanta, Tata Motors, Adani Ports, Maruti Suzuki, SBI, NTPC, Coal India, Bajaj Auto, HDFC Bank and Tata Steel, rising up to 2 per cent.

While, Bharti Airtel, Asian Paints and Wipro trading in the negative zone, falling up to 0.25 per cent.

Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) sold shares worth a net of Rs 639.87 crore, while domestic institutional investors (DIIs) sold shares worth a net of Rs 340.30 crore yesterday, provisional data showed.

Overseas, Asian stocks were mixed, with several regional markets attempting to recover after sliding on trade war jitters.

Shanghai Composite Index was up 0.08 per cent, Japan's Nikkei rose 0.32 per cent, while Hong Kong's Hang Seng was down 0.22 per cent.

The US Dow Jones Industrial Average ended 0.03 per cent lower yesterday.

Mumbai, Aug 2: The BSE Sensex dropped over 200 points to 37,373.08 today on heavy selling in metal, auto, banking, capital and realty stocks amid sustained capital outflows by foreign funds after the RBI yesterday hiked repo rate for the second time in two months.

The repo rate, at which the central bank lends to other banks, now stands at 6.5 per cent.

Moreover, fall in Asian stocks on renewed US-China trade war concerns influenced the sentiment here, brokers said.

The 30-share index dropped 248.42 points, or 0.66 per cent, to 37,273.20. The gauge had lost 84.96 points in yesterday's session.

Similarly, the NSE Nifty fell 72.80 points, or 0.64 per cent to 11,273.40.

Sectoral indices led by metal, auto, banking, capital goods and realty, falling up to 1.30 per cent.

Major losers were Vedanta, Tata Steel, Yes Bank, Tata Motors, Maruti Suzuki, Hero Motocorp, M&M, HDFC, RIL, Bajaj Auto, Bharti Airtel, SBI, Kotak Bank, ICICI Bank, Adani Ports, NTPC, Axis Bank and HDFC Bank, losing up to 2.64 per cent.

Meanwhile, Sun Pharma, PowerGrid, Coal India, HUL, IndusInd Bank, ONGC and Infosys rose up to 1.42 per cent.

On a net basis, foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) sold shares worth Rs 95.94 crore yesterday and domestic institutional investors (DIIs) sold shares worth Rs 562.33 crore, provisional data showed.

Elsewhere in Asia, Japan's Nikkei fell 0.36 per cent and Hong Kong's Hang Seng shed 0.54 per cent in early trade. China's Shanghai Composite index too was down 0.33 per cent.

US stocks closed mostly lower yesterday after the Federal Reserve left interest rates unchanged but signalled another imminent rate increase. Fresh worries over US-China trade friction too dampened sentiment.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average ended 0.32 per cent lower in yesterday's trade.

Mumbai, Jul 17: The BSE Sensex recovered over 107 points to 36,431.17 in early trade today on fresh buying by investors after a sharp drop on global crude oil prices and a strengthening rupee.

The 30-share index, which had lost 224.64 points in the previous two sessions, rebounded 107.40 points, or 0.30 per cent, to 36,431.17 with stocks of oil & gas, FMCG, infrastructure, PSU, banking, consumer durables and auto sectors rising by up to 1.69 per cent.

Similarly, the broader NSE Nifty was trading 40.20 points, or 0.37 per cent, higher at 10,977.05.

Major gainers that supported the recovery were Tata Motors, Sun Pharma, Adani Ports, Yes Bank, Tata Steel, ICICI Bank, Vedanta Ltd, M&M, ONGC, RIL, Maruti Suzuki, Bajaj auto and Infosys.

Shares of state-run oil marketing companies such as HPCL, BPCL and IOC were back in demand and rose by up to 3.34 per cent, supported by a sharp fall in crude prices.

Shares of FMCG major Hindustan Unilever advanced 1.48 per cent to Rs 1,779.95 in early trade after the company yesterday posted a 19.17 per cent increase in standalone net profit at Rs 1,529 crore for the first quarter ended June 30.

Traders said besides encouraging earnings posted by some bluechip companies, a mixed trend at other Asian markets as investors tracked overnight gains on Wall Street, influenced trading sentiments here.

Investors were also awaiting US Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell's first congressional testimony for hints on the pace of interest rate hikes, the added.

Meanwhile, foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) sold shares worth a net of Rs 625.68 crore, while domestic institutional investors (DIIs) offloaded shares worth a net of Rs 70.30 crore yesterday, provisional data showed.

Elsewhere in Asia, Japan's Nikkei rose 0.77 per cent, while Singapore Index was up 0.29 per cent in early trade today. However, Hong Kong's Hang Seng was down 0.92 per cent and Shanghai Composite Index fell 1.01 per cent.

The US Dow Jones Industrial Average ended 0.18 per cent higher in yesterday's trade.

Mumbai, Jul 10: The benchmark Sensex advanced by over 200 points to reclaim the 36,000-mark in early trade today led by gains on IT, realty and capital goods counters, ahead of key quarterly results scheduled later in the day.

The 30-share index rose for the third straight day by gaining 203.87 points, or 0.57 per cent, at 36,138.59 in early trade.

IT, realty, capital goods, oil and gas, metal, tech, auto, PSU, power and banking stocks led the upward movement, by rising up to 1.16 per cent.

The gauge had gained 360.17 points in the previous session two sessions.

The NSE Nifty also recaptured the 10,900 mark. The index was trading higher by 61.85 points, or 0.57 per cent, at 10,914.75.

Support came from key stocks such as Yes Bank, RIL, Adani Ports, HDFC Bank, Bajaj Auto, SBI, Bharti Airtel, Tata Motors, ICICI Bank, Tata Steel, NTPC, Maruti, Tata Steel, Infosys, Coal India, L&T and HDFC, rising up to 1.72 per cent.

Traders said widening of bets by investors ahead of Q1 numbers from IndusInd Bank and TCS, amid sustained buying by domestic institutional investors (DIIs) influenced market sentiment.

TCS shares rose 0.65 per cent to Rs 1,900, while IndusInd Bank fell 0.17 per cent to Rs 1,951.35.



Meanwhile, DIIs bought shares worth a net of Rs 740.39 crore, while Foreign institutional investors (FIIs) sold shares worth a net of Rs 569.91 crore yesterday, provisional data showed.

Overseas, most Asian stocks rose amid optimism over the upcoming earnings season, that is expected to be sufficiently robust to overshadow a rise in trade tensions.

Hong Kong's Hang Seng rose 0.41 per cent, Japan's Nikkei gained 0.94 per cent, while China's Shanghai Composite Index shed 0.06 per cent.

US equities rose yesterday, as investors set aside concern about escalating trade tensions and rising political tension abroad to focus on the coming earnings season.

The US Dow Jones Industrial Average ended 1.31 per cent higher on yesterday.

Mumbai, Jun 22: The benchmark BSE Sensex got off to a lower start today, tracking a sell-off in global markets amid escalating trade war worries.
The 30-share index, which had lost 114.94 points in the previous session, fell by another 50.91 points, or 0.14 per cent, to 35,381.48 in early trade. 
Capital goods, realty, infrastructure, power, healthcare and metal stocks showed weakness, falling by up to 0.35 per cent.
The NSE Nifty also was quoting lower by 5.20 points, or 0.05 per cent, at 10,735.90.
Major losers included Coal India, Reliance Industries, Asian Paints, SBI, Adani Ports, Sun Pharma, IndusInd Bank, Yes Bank, PowerGrid, Bajaj Auto, Maruti Suzuki and HDFC Bank, declining up to 1.40 per cent.
According to traders, sustained selling by participants in line with a weak trend at other Asian markets following overnight losses at the Wall Street amid investor concerns about the trade dispute between the US and China dampened trading sentiments here.
Meanwhile, India will raise customs duty on 29 products, including almond, walnut and pulses, imported from the US as a retaliatory action against the tariff hike by Washington.
The duty hike would come into effect from August 4, the Finance Ministry said in a notification.
In Asia, Hong Kong's Hang Seng was down 0.15 per cent and Shanghai Composite shed 0.70 per cent in early trade today. Japan's Nikkei too fell 0.74 per cent.
The US Dow Jones Industrial Average ended 0.80 per cent lower yesterday.

Mumbai, Apr 19: The benchmark index of Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) on Thursday advanced 75.97 points to 34,407.65, tracking strong Asian cues supported by a rally in oil prices and easing global trade concerns.
The Nifty of National Stocks Exchange (NSE) too advanced by 34.00 points to 10,560.20.
The sensex registered intra-day high and low at 34,478.82 and 34,386.99 points respectively.
The Nifty recorded intra day high and low at 10,568.90 and 10,547.10 respectively.
Sectoral indices, Such as metal, realty, FMGC, Teck, IT and capital goods stocks were trading in the positive territory.
The gainers were Tata Steel by 2.74 pc to Rs 618.00, Yes Bank by 2.18 pc to Rs 316.50, Bharti Airtel by 1.79 pc to Rs 391.70, ONGC by 1.60 pc to Rs 184.70 and LR by 1.13 pc to Rs 1376.00
The losers were Axis Bank by 0.40 pc to Rs 511.55, HDFC by 0.59 pc to Rs 1865.55, ICICIU bnak by 0.40 pc to Rs 289.00, Bajaj Auto by 0.38 pc to Rs 2851.75 and Kotak Bank by 0.34 pc to Rs 1154.00. UNI



Mumbai, Apr 11: The benchmark index of Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) rose on Wednesday slipped by 38.05 points to 33,84.20 on profit booking by local operators at higher level.
The Nifty of National Stocks Exchange (NSE) too fell by 19.45 points to 10,382.80.
It was opened on a positive note at 33,970.35, up by 90 points.
It immediately went in red.
The sectoral indices like Power, Realty, Utilities and Health Care pushed the market down.
The sensex registered intra day high and low at 33,972.51 and 33,750.74 respectvely.
The Nifty recorded intra day high and low at 10,428.15 and 10,355.60 respectively. 
The losers were Adani Ports by 2.20 pc to Rs 377.95, SBIN by 1.88 pc to Rs 258.30, ICICI Bank by 1.51 pc to Rs 284.55 and Yes Bank by 1.07 pc to Rs 315.80.
The gainers were ONGC by 1.42 pc to Rs 182.65, TCS by 1.34 pc to Rs 2971.25, Sun Pharma by 1.08 pc to Rs 513.50 Reliance Industries by 0.92 pc to Rs 924.90 and Wipro by 0.77 pc to Rs 287.80. UNI


New Delhi, Apr 3: YES BANK, India's fourth largest private sector bank announced the appointment of Raj Ahuja as Chief Financial Officer of the Bank and Group CFO. The appointment of Mr. Ahuja is in compliance with the Reserve Bank of India circular dated May 18, 2017 which stipulates minimum qualification of a CA for a Bank CFO.
Raj is a Chartered Accountant (ICAI), Cost Accountant (ICWAI) and also holds a bachelor's degree in Commerce from the prestigious Sri Ram College of Commerce, University of Delhi.
Raj Ahuja will be responsible for overseeing the strategic financial management of the Bank and its subsidiaries at the Group level. In this critical leadership role, he will be involved in driving financial performance and bringing further rigor to financial and investment decisions across the Bank and its subsidiaries. Raj has over 26 years of rich experience managing Finance and allied areas, Operations, Fintech, Compliance and Regulatory aspects. Mumbai, Mar 21: The benchmark index of Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) on Tuesday rallied by 347 point 52 points to 33,344.28 in opening trade as brisk buying was witnessed across the board.
Nifty of National Stocks Exchange (NSE) too gained by 98.05 points to 10,222.40. 
The sensex registered intra day high and low at 33,341.74 and 33,090.82 respectvely.
The Nifty recorded intra day high and low at 10,225.45 and 10,173.20 respectively. 
The sectoral such as FMCG, Health Care, Auto, and Tecknology kept the sensex strong in early trade.
The gainers were Bharti Airtel by 3.52 pc to Rs 414.25, NTPC by 2.50 pc to Rs 170.25, Yes Bank by 1.95 pc to Rs 307.95 and SBIN by 1.85 pc to Rs 253.85.
The losers were HeroMoto Corp by 0.77 pc to Rs 3486.35, Tata Steel by 0.13 pc to Rs 592.50 and Bajaj Auto by 0.06 pc to Rs 287.70. UNI

Mumbai, Mar 16: Mahindra Renewables Pvt. Ltd., a wholly owned subsidiary of Mahindra Susten Pvt. Ltd., has achieved financial closure for its 250 MW Solar Power Project, to be located in Rewa District of Madhya Pradesh with YES BANK Ltd for financial assistance in the form of project debt to the extent of Rs 750 Crores and from other financial institutions upto Rs 200 Crores.
The project is part of the 750 MW Rewa solar park which is one of the largest solar parks in the world. The 250 MW project of Mahindra Renewables is expected to generate over 525 Million Units and is envisaged to sell 78 percent of the generated units to Madhya Pradesh Electricity Distribution Utilities and the balance 22
percent to Delhi Metro Rail Corporation Ltd.,a statement said.
Mahindra Renewables had participated in the competitive bidding process invited by Rewa Ultra Mega Solar Ltd. (50:50 JV between Madhya Pradesh Urja Vikash Nigam Ltd. & Solar Energy Corporation of India) to set up 750 MW grid connected Solar PV projects. Mahindra Renewables won 250 MW capacity at levelised tariff of Rs 3.3 per Kwh with other winning bidders being ACTIS PE backed Solenergi and ACME Group. The project is expected to commence commercial operations by December 2018. 
Zhooben Bhiwandiwala, President-Mahindra Partners, stated, ''Our aim is to build a sustainable presence in the Renewable Energy space. The Rewa Solar Project is a significant step in this direction as this is one of the largest solar parks having the most bankable PPA terms and can become a model template for all upcoming solar projects. 
This project also demonstrates Mahindra Group’s commitment and focus towards renewable energy by partnering with leading banks like YES BANK, which has a significant renewable energy footprint.''

The sensex registered intra day high and low at 33,309.36 and 33,037.48 respectvely.
The Nifty recorded intra day high and low at 10,241.40 and 10,146.40 respectively. 
The gainers were Bharti Airtel by1.64 pc to Rs 410.00.DFC by 1.55 pc to Rs 1789.20,ICICI Bank by 1.55 pc tp Rs 291.15, Infosys by 1.32 pc to Rs 1157.85 and Mah& Mah by 1.03 pc to Rs 717.16.

Mumbai, Feb 28: The benchmark index of Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) on Wednesday slipped further by 139.37 points to 34,207.02 as heavy selling was seen in Materials, Bankex, Auto, Capital Goods and Consumer Durable stocks.
The Nifty of National Stocks Exchange (NSE) to fell by 57.20 points to 10,497.20.
The sensex registered intra day high and low at 34,214.86 and 34,076.45 respectvely.
The Nifty recorded intra day high and low at 10,507.95 and 10,461.55 respectively. 
Except, Health Care, Realty and Technology other sectoal indices were in red in early trade.
The losers were Yes Bank by 2.42 pc to Rs 319.15, ICICI Bank by 2.17 pc to Rs 312.70, Adani Ports by 1.27 pc to Rs 405.60 and L & T by 1.19 pc to Rs 1321.90.
The gainers were Infosys by 1.11 pc to Rs 1161.10, Sun Pharma by 0.48 pc to Rs 547.50, Bajaj Auto by 0.46 pc to Rs 3047.95. UNI


Mumbai, Feb 6: The benchmark index of Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) slumped by 1275 points to 33,482 point 81 in early trade on Tuesday as heavy selling was witnesssed across-the-board after investor
sentiment was hit by a sell-off in world markets.
Budget effect was seen for the sixth straight session today.
The Nifty of National Stock Exchange (NSE) too fell by 314.45 points to 10,355.10.
The sensex registered intra day high and low at 34,941.34 and 34,482.81 respectively.
The Nifty recorded intra day high and low at 10,423.70 and 10,276.30 respectively.
All sectoral indices led by realty, consumer durables, metal and banking tradings in the negative zone.
Seeing the scrips, Tata Motors, Axis Bank, Yes Bank and ICICI Bank too dragged the market.
The losers were Tata Motors by 5.73 pc to Rs 373.35, Tata Motors DVR by 5.16 pc to Rs 207.50, Axis Bank by 4.52 pc to Rs 540.50, Yes Bank by 4.24 pc to Rs 329.50 and ICICI Bank by 3.90 pc to Rs 318.70. UNI


Mumbai, Feb 2: The Benchmark Index of Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) heavily down on Friday by 468.05 points to 35,438.61 on weak Asian Market.
Disappointment from the Budget due to reintroduction of long-term capital gains tax also impacted the equity market.
The Nifty of National Stock Exchange (NSE) slipped by 139.80 points to 10,877.10.
The sensex opened lower by 199 points to 35,707.60. It registered intra day high and low at 35,738.13 and 35,314.97 respectively.
The Nifty recorded intra day high and low at 10,954.95 and 10,826.50 respectively.
All the sectoral indices were in red in early trade.
The scrips that tumled down were Yes Bank, ONGC, Kotak Bank, HDFC and NTPC.
The indices that rose were TCS, Health Care and Dr Reddy's Lab.
The losers were Yes Bank by 3.86 pc to Rs 345.90, ONGC by 3.13 pc to Rs 189, Kotak Bank by 2.70 pc to Rs 1090 and HDFC by 2.68 pc to Rs 1914.85.
The gainers were TCS by 1.33 pc to Rs 3180.75, HDFC by 0.58 pc to Rs 276.95 and Dr Reddy's Lab by 0.35 pc to Rs 2164.50. UNI


Mumbai, Jan 19: Extending gain, the BSE sensex on Friday rallied by 154.56 points to 35,414.85 in opening trade on strong global cues.
The Nifty of National Stocks Exchange (NSE) too advanced by 35.35 points to 10,852.35.
The sensex registered intra day high and low at 35,434.08 and 35,221.16 respectvely.
The Nifty recorded intra day high and low at 10,857.70 and 10,793.90 respectively. 
Brisk buying in FMCG, Finance, Health Care, Industrials and Bankex stocks boosted the sentiments.
Improved corporate earning shave helped share markets rally. 
The gainers were Adani Ports bby 3.20 pc to R 427.60, SBIN by 1.57 pc to Rs 307.50, Dr Reddy's Lab by 1.39 pc to Rs 2499.85 and Yes Bank by 1.13 pc to Rs 344.10.
The losers were Wipro by 0.94 pc to Rs 323, Infosys by 0.93 pc to Rs 1142 and Hero MotoCorp by 0.53 pc to Rs 3573.20. UNI
