Muzaffarnagar, Sep 29: Six booth-level officers (BLO) were booked for allegedly not attending their duties in voter list revision drive which was started by the Election Commission in the district, police said.

According to the Election Commission sources, a case under Section 3/4 of the Representation of the People Act, 1951 was registered against six people in this connection on Friday. 

The voter list revision drive was started in the district on the directive of the Election Commission. (PTI)

SAMBA JUNE 29: The Election department Samba today organized a workshop for Specially-abled eligible voters of the district
Deputy Commissioner S Rajinder Singh Tara called for registering all eligible special persons above 18 years of age to enable them to exercise their right to franchise as they are equally entitled to participate in the election process.
The aim of organizing the workshop was to make the electoral process more inclusive and friendly for the Persons with Disabilities (PwDs).
During the workshop, threadbare discussion was held to prepare a comprehensive strategy to ensure adequate and quality facilitation of PwDs for their wholesome participation in the electoral process including their enrolment and sensitization.
A large number of special persons, Government officials, BLOs  andrepresentatives of NGOs took part in the workshop. The participants shared their experiences and suggested measures with regard to inclusion of persons with disabilities in electoral roll and providing them conducive and friendly atmosphere of their participation in the electoral process.
In his address, the ACR said that persons with special needs are equally entitled to be facilitated in casting their vote and take active part in the political process.  
He further said that the services of Government departments and NGOs will be taken to strengthen the process of inclusion of PwDs in electoral roll in future as per direction of ECI. As per GOI directions, the necessary facilities for PwDs shall also be provided, ensured at polling stations for the forthcoming elections.

       POONCH MAY 26: The District Election Authorities Poonch today organised a twenty five day training session for Booth Level Officers(BLOs).
          They will be trained in ‘House to house verification of pre filled BLO registers’ during the course which will continue till June 20,  2018. The BLOs will be trained in the use of hybrid mobile app’ to acquaint them with online voter registration and updation mechanism. The training will be held under the overall supervision of District Election Officer Mohammad Aijaz Asad.
          The training programme would be held at three different places  across the district involving the AEROs and BLOs of corresponding number of Assembly constituencies of the district.  For Assembly constituency 87-Haveli the training has been organised at Degree College Poonch, while for Surankote constituency the training was conducted at GHSS Surankote  and for    Mendhar constituency training was organised at Degree College Mendhar.  
Speaking on the occasion the EROs highlighted the importance of fault free BLO registers for fair conduct of election. They emphasised upon BLOs to ensure that no household is left out from verification process of pre filled BLO registers.
          The training program was aimed to update the BLOs about adoption of ICT tools like ERO NET launched by the Election Commission of India for online delivery of services. BLOs were made aware of procedure for conduct of house to house verification of pre filled BLO registers and use of mobile based applications to make necessary corrections.
          The training was conducted through video & power point presentation by District Informatics Officer & District Level Master Trainers (DLMT) Barkat Choudhary and Abdul Ghani.  
They explained the trainees about online processing of forms through ERO net and role of BLO  in online processing of forms besides highlighting other features like ER management and  polling station management.

PULWAMA, MAY 24: In accordance with the directions of the Election Commission of India, the training regarding house to house verification of prefilled BLO register and use of hybrid mobile application for supervisors and booth level officers of Pulwama district shall be held as per the schedule.
The training for Tral and Pampore shall be conducted at Meeting Hall DC Office Pulwama on May 28 from 11 am to 1 pm and 2 pm to 4 pm respectively.
Similarly, the training for Pulwama and Rajpora shall be conducted at Meeting Hall DC Office Pulwama on May 29 from 11 am to 1 pm and 2 pm to 4 pm respectively.
All Assistant Electoral Registration Officers (Tehsildars) have been directed to inform their concerned booth level officers to attend the training programme on the scheduled date, time and venue.

UDHAMPUR, MAY 23: - A two day    training programme on operating Mobile App Net, commenced here today.
The workshop is aimed to sensitize Supervisors and Booth Level Officers (BLOs) of Panchari and Moungri about the usage of the application. The workshop was held under the chairmanship of Deputy District Election Officer, Udhampur Sapna Kotwal here at Conference Hall of DC Office Complex Udhampur this morning.
The first day of two-day training programme witnessed two different sessions for the BLOs and supervisors of Tehsil Panchari and Moungri. The training was conducted through video and power-point presentations. The participants were explained about various steps involved in the Mobile App including online processing of forms.
  Dy, DEO said that the objective of this programme is to enhance the  participation during electoral process. She further said that this Mobile App has been launched by the Election Commission of India (ECI) to achieve the data of the Electorates on manual basis. She informed that the BLOs App 2nd is the hybrid version of the BLO app with lots of more information with the highlights of offline mode. The motive of ECI is to ensure effective implementation of ‘No Voter to be left behind’. 
The DEO said that the role of BLOs in the process of purification of electoral roll is very important. For the purpose she called upon the BLOs and supervisors to maintain close coordination for better results.
Among others, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Subhash Dogra, Sub Divisional Magistrate, Chenani Davinder Sharma Tehsildar, Udhampur Ved Parkash besides BLOs and Supervisors were present in the meeting.

Lucknow, Nov 22: Around 20 per cent of the 1 point 09 crore electorate on Wednesday exercised their franchise till 1130 hrs in the first phase of Uttar Pradesh civic polls amid reports of minor incidents of violence and malfunctioning of EVMs.
State Election Commission officials claimed that the polling was peaceful. The state Director-General of Police (DGP) office here said no untoward incident was reported from anywhere in the poll-bound 24 districts so far. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath was among the first to vote in Gorakhpur, while senior BJP leader Vijay Katiyar exercised his right to franchise in Ayodhya. However, two senior politicians in Unnao, were upset when they found their names missing from the voters' list. BJP MP from Unnao Sakshi Maharaj and previous Congress MP Anu Tandon had to go back without voting because their names were not in the voters’ list. Unnao District Magistrate has taken the matter seriously and ordered suspension of booth level officer (BLO).UNI

          BANDIPORA, NOVEMBER 10: A 2-day training programme for booth level officers (BLOs) concluded here today.
122 BLOs of 11-Sonawari Assembly Constituency were imparted ERO-Net training at BDO office Sumbal today on the second day of the training programme.
    Assistant Electoral Registration Officer (Tehsildar Sumbal) and Election Naib Tehsildar Bandipora were also present during the training.
             In all 130 BLOs of Bandipora and 27 BLOs of Gurez were trained yesterday at Bandipora.

          The BLOs during the training programme were sensitized to undertake survey of respective areas and collect data as per the guidelines of ECI.

POONCH NOVEMBER 10: Ahead of the special drive  to be held  from 15th  November to 30th November and on the initiative of Election Commission of India two days   training programme conducted  under the overall supervision of District Election Officer,  Tariq Ahmad Zargar  for imparting training to BLOs of all three Assembly  Constituencies 85 Surnkote, 86 Mendhar and 87 Haveli.
 Apart from BLOs and supervisors the training programme was attended by ADC Poonch, Dy. Election Officer, EROs/AEROs.
The training was imparted by Srikant Suse and  Kanzal Hussain  Shah special  trainers on subject
Speaking on the occasion,  Suse said that the role of  BLOS in the process of purification of electoral roll is very significant. He urged the BLOs and supervisors to maintain close coordination for better results.

On the occasion the experts  apprised about ERO-NET, a software which has been developed by the Election Commission of India to achieve the objectives under  Unified National Photo Electoral  Roll so that slogan of Election Commission of India  " no voter to be left behind " implemented  in effective way.

Pilot Project launched in Rajouri AC
RAJOURI NOVEMBER 10: Assembly Constituency  83-Rajouri has been selected as pilot constituency in which “BLO REGISTER”  mobile application will be used under special drive which is scheduled from 15th November to 30 November 2017. Authorities are in process of providing Android handsets to election officials. 
This was informed during a meeting held by District Election Authorities held to review the arrangements for launch of special decentralized enrollment project.
The Election Commission of India has launched a Special Drive w.e.f. 15th to 30thNovember, 2017 under Special Summary Revision of Photo Electoral Rolls, 2018 with 01-01-2018 as qualifying date with a view to maximize registration and improve fidelity of electoral rolls. Five Assembly Constituencies in each States including Jammu & Kashmir have been selected on  pilot basis in which Andriod Mobile App “BLO REGISTER” is to be used by the Booth level Officers (BLOs) for online registration of voters and collection of information related to voters; GPS Mapping of Polling Stations, Families, Post offices, etc. Rajouri constituency is one of five constituency for pilot project in Jammu and Kashmir. 
 Objectives of Special Drive for SSR-2018 include maximization of registration of eligible voter,  correcting the errors in Electoral Rolls, Remove Dead and Permanently Shifted Electors, Identify probable and existing Overseas electors living abroad, Obtaining information about Polling Stations, Voters Observations on existing PS, Identifying and Mapping Alternate Building(s) suitable for Pilling Station, Post Office Details for the Part, Obtain Family details/ contact details & (GIS Coordinates) to provide better Electoral Services, Identify Future Voters for focused voter education under SVEEP &SSR-2019.
 Deputy District Election Officer, Shrikant Suse earlier deputed by District Administration along with EA Kanzal Shah attended the training at Election Commission of India among 14 State Level Master Trainers (SLMTs) from Jammu & Kashmir for further imparting  training to District Level Master Trainers (DLMTs)/AC level Master trainers (ACLMTs)/BLOs in respect of  Rajouri and Poonch Districts for smooth and successful conduct of Special Drive for Special Summary Revision, 2018 by using Andriod Mobile App “BLO Register App”.  More than 900 BLOs of Rajouri and Poonch have been trained so far for using Android application by DyDEO Srikant Suse and team of officials. 
 District Election Officer Dr. Shahid Iqbal Choudhary informed that team headed by Dy. DEO conducted 2-day training camp at Poonch and Rajouri for imparting training to BLOs for shifting to new regime and further training camps will be conducted in both the districts.

Kathua, November 8th:- A Two-day training programme on ERO-Net for Booth Level Officers (BLOs) of Kathua district commenced here today.
During the session, the participants are being imparted training on online processing of forms through ERO-Net ,role of BLOs in the process and  functionalities provided by ERO-Net like ERs management, polling stations management, electoral services and information on ER entries that electors and citizens can avail through ERO-Net.
Deputy District Election Officer Chand Kishore Sharma said that the ECI in its initiative of ERO –NET has rolled out measures to fine-tune the electoral rolls ,provide error-free EPIC cards to voters, lessening paper work as correct form filled at the entry level will be accepted through the system.
It was further informed that BLO’s of all five assembly segment in the district, 63- Bani, 64-Basohli ,65-Kathua 66-Billawar, 67-Hirangar and left out BLO’s of Kathua assembly segments will be covered in the two days programme.

The training with its interactive session was conducted through video and power-point presentations.

KATHUA, SEPTEMBER 28:- The district election cell Kathua today organised a training  session on ERO-NET to acquaint the Booth Level Officers with online voter registration and updation mechanism.
 The training programme was inaugurated by District  Election Officer Kathua Ramesh Kumar.
The training program is being conducted to update   the BLOs about adoption of ICT tools like ERO NET launched by the Election Commission of India for online delivery of services.
The DEO asked the BLOs to enroll all the eligible voters during forthcoming special summary revision of photo electoral roll by using the applications of ERO NET to achieve error free electoral roll and  100% photo image of the electors.

The training was conducted through video & power point presentation by District Informatics Officer Sideshwar Bhagat &  Master Trainer from Chief Electoral Officer Vidur Pratap Singh. They explained about online processing of forms through ERO net and role of BLO  in online processing of forms besides highlighting other features like ER management and  polling station management.
