JAMMU, OCTOBER 03:  As per Superintending Engineer, Elect. Maintt. & R.E. Circle Jammu, the power supply to Sundarpur Road etc, Purana Pind, Park, Revenue Centre, PHE DT, Khamb, Tunda Rice mill and its adjoining areas fed from 11 KV RSP-VII feeder shall remain affected on October 04 and 05 from 08 am to 12 noon.
Similarly, the power supply to Guru Teg Bahadur Nagar, Gujjar Colony, Chatta, Chowadhi and its adjoining areas fed from 11 KV CH-2, CH-8 and CH-10 feeders shall remain affected on October 04 from 07 am to 11 am.
Likewise, the power supply to District Police Lines, Gandhi Nagar, Gulshan Ground, MAM College, Vikram Chowk, JKSERC office and its adjoining areas fed from 11 KV RC-3, RC-5 and RC-6 feeders shall remain affected on October 09 from 07 am to 11 am.
Meanwhile the power supply to Bablina and its adjoining areas fed from 11 KV BL-3 feeder shall remain affected on October 04, 06 and 08 from 07 am to 11 am.
Similarly, the power supply to Satwari and its adjoining areas fed from 11 KV SA-3 feeder shall remain affected on October 04 from 07 am to 11 am.
Likewise, the power supply to Sainik Colony, Trikuta Nagar and its adjoining areas fed from 11 KV SC-2 and TRN-3 feeders shall remain affected on October 05 from 07 am to 11 am.
Meanwhile, the power supply Trikuta Nagar and its adjoining areas fed from 11 KV TRN-1 feeder shall remain affected on October 06 from 07 am to 11 am.
Similarly, the power supply Channi Himmat and its adjoining areas fed from 11 KV CH-6 feeder shall remain affected on October 04 and 06 from 07 am to 11 am.

KISHTWAR, AUGUST 03: According to Superintending Engineer Electric M&RE Circle Kishtwar, to execute urgent work in hand by RGGVY Phase -1 scheme, the shutdown of all 33 KV Lines emanating from 132/33 Grid Station Khellani is being observed.
During the shutdown, the power supply to entire Doda, Bhaderwah, Thathri and Gundoh including its adjoining areas shall remain affected on 06 August form 07 am to 5 pm..
Further it may be ensured that the shutdown is cleared with the prescribed time and in no case extension of shutdown is allowed beyond the prescribed time.
Meanwhile, for upgradation to 4-lane with paved shoulder of Jammu-Akhnoor road section of NH-144A from Canal head (KM 0.800) to Ganesh Vihar ( KM 6.000) of 5.2 Km length to be executed on EPC basis, the shutdown of 11 KV feeders is being observed.
During  the shutdown, the power supply to canal Road, Ganesh Vihar, Shakti Nagar, Patel Nagar, Garden Avenue, Mohinder Nagar, PHE installation, Bakshi Nagar, Rajpura, Shiv Nagar and its adjoining areas shall remain affected on August 04 from 6 am to 10 am.

Disaster preparedness mechanism being strengthened
POONCH, JUNE 30: District Development Commissioner Poonch, Mohammad Aijaz Asad today convened a meeting to reviewed flood protection measures and service delivery mechanism here at a meeting of senior functionaries.
The meeting was attended by ADDC, Hamid Sheikh, ADC, Dr. Basharat Hussain, ASP, Anwar-Ul-Haq, ACR, Bashir Lone, XEN R&B, XEN PMGSY, XEN IFC, Executive Engineers PWD(R&B), PHE, PDD, I&FC, AD, FCS&CA, I/C SDRF, Army representatives besides officials from other concerned departments.
The DDC   directed officials of Army, Disaster Management and Civil Defence to keep their men and machinery ready with tents, sand bags,   life jackets and other rescue equipments. He asked them to make available sand bags at vulnerable locations especially upstream and downstream of S.K Bridge and Kalai Bridge and other populated locations as precautionary measures.
The meeting discussed measures for protection at places   prone to flood like Bela Potha, Bela Sanai, Fazalabad and Sailan in Tehsil Surankote, downstream of Kalai Bridge on the right Bank, Dingla, 1km area each of upstream and downstream of S.K Bridge, Batad Nala, Ajote, downstream of Batad covering Purani Poonch in Tehsil Haveli and main town and Chhajla in Tehsil Mendhar.
Concerned departments informed that a total 32 JCBs, 1 Pick & Carry Crane and 2 BDAT have been kept on standby to deal with untoward situation.
Preparedness- cum-Rescue Plan was discussed   and the DDC   called for maintaining close coordination among different departments and agencies to safeguard precious lives in case of any eventuality during the rainy season.
The meeting decided to establish District Disaster Management Group for timely coordination, while the DDC directed the department heads to conduct mock drills with agencies to stay prepared for any unforeseen eventuality.
The Municipality and R&B Deptt was asked to ensure clearance of all drains in advance in the main markets to avoid water logging during monsoon.
  PDD  was asked to take measures for preventing  power supply   disruption and keep  alternate power lines ready in case of failure of main Line.
The DDC also reviewed the medicine stock position  in hospitals  and asked the health department to issue advisories with respect to any epidemic and health issues.
 The CMO Poonch informed the meeting that 57 ambulances and 1 Mobile Medical Unit(MMU) have been put on task.
It was decided that an Emergency Operation Centre(EOC) will be opened at DC Office which will function  under the supervision of ADC.   
DDC Poonch also directed AD, FCS&CA to keep adequate ration in stores to meet emergent requirements. The provision of buffer stock in hilly and disaster prone areas should also be ensured in time, he directed.

JAMMU, JUNE 27: As per Superintending Engineer EM & RE Circle Kathua that in order to carry out work for charging of 25 KVA HVDS, the shutdown of Janglote-II feeder emanating from 66/11 KV S/S Hatlimorh-II is being observed.
During the shutdown, the power supply to Upper Khrote and Janglote shall remain affected on June 28 and 29 from 7 am to 10 am.

Kolkata, Jan 11: The West Bengal Government has decided to double the power supply to Sagar Island during the Ganga Sagar Mela from 8.9 million units (MU) to 16 MU per day.
The annual fair will be held from January 10 to 16 this time.
Millions of people from across the country, most of whom are pilgrims, and some tourists, as well as many foreign tourists, descend on to Sagar Island in the Sundarbans every year.
Doubling the load capacity will result in a smooth power situation during the seven days of the fair, which centres around the ashram of Kapil Muni on the island. Power cuts will be a thing of the past.
The Power Department will also arrange six generators to meet any emergency situation.
As many as 10 centres will be set up inside the Sagar Mela where a total of 50 Power Department officials will be deployed. They would oversee the entire situation, as well as attend to any complaint that may arise within two to three minutes.

JAMMU, NOVEMBER 24: Minister of State for Hajj & Auqaf, PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control, Power, Industries and Commerce, Syed Farooq Ahmad Andrabi on Friday paid obeisance at Zariat Sharief Peer Budhan Ali Shah at Satwari Jammu. 
On the occasion, Minister offered a Chaadar (Shawl) at the shrine and attended special prayers which were led by Imam, Hafiz Mohammad Aazim Ali. The Minister prayed for prosperity, development and peace of the Jammu and Kashmir.
Administrator Auqaf Jammu, Wakeel Ahmad Bhat who accompanied the Minister during his tour, briefed the Minister about the achievements registered by the Auqaf Jammu. The Minister asked the concerned for better upkeep of Auqaf properties and assets. He also asked the concerned to ensure cleanliness in and around the premises of the shrine.
During the tour, the Minister met various devotees who came to shrine for offering prayers and enquired from them about the facilities being available at the shrine.

The devotees suggested and projected various issues including opening of ATM facilities at the premises of the shrine. The Minister heard them patiently and said that he will take up the matter of opening of ATM with the concerned quarter on priority.

Pura, the shutdown of 33/11 KV Sub-Station Kullian and 33 KV Line Badyal Brahmana at R.S. Pura is being observed.
During the shutdown, the power supply to Kullian shall remain affected on November 23 from 9 am to 4 pm.
Similarly, the power supply to Badyal Brahmana shall also remain affected on November 23 from 9 am to 11 am.
However, for completion of 33 KV G-6 line, the shutdown of 33/11 KV G-6 and G-7 lines is being observed,
During the shutdown, the power supply to Channi Himmat, Malik Market, Police Quarters, Sainik Colony, Chowdi, Transport Nagar, Fruit Mandi Complex, Narwal, Bathindi, PHE installations and adjoining areas shall remain affected on November 23 from 9 am to 2 pm.

Similarly, the shutdown of PHE and K-4 feeders fed from 66/11 KV S/Stn. Taraf Pujwal is allowed on November 26 from 08 am to 12 noon.
Likewise, the shutdown of K-2, K-3, PHE, AIR and K-6 feeders fed from 66/11 KV S/Stn Hatli More-1 and 2 is allowed on November 26 from 10 am to 03 pm.
Meanwhile, the shutdown of Janglote-II and PHE feeder fed from 66/11 KV S/Stn Hatli More-II is allowed on November 22 to 25 from 08 am to 12 noon.

 SRINAGAR, NOVEMBER 13:  Power Controller, Kashmir Province, PDD Srinagar today said the areas which receive power supply from the receiving station Dudherhama, Lar, Khurhama, Ajas, Nadihal, Preng, Balhama, Wuyan and TCI (old) shall remain affected on November 15, 16, 18 and 20 for executing various maintenance and construction works. 
          He said power supply from Balhama, Wuyan and TCI (old) receiving stations shall remain affected on November 15 from 12 pm to 3 pm.

          Whereas power supply from receiving stations Dudherhama, Lar, Khurhama, Ajas, Nadihal, and Preng will remain affected on November 15, 16, 18 and 20  from 10 am to 10:30 am and from 5 pm to 5:30 pm.

Dedicates power sub-station to people at Laiter
REASI, NOVEMBER 06: Minister of State for Finance and Planning, Ajay Nanda today asserted that the state government has laid special focus on development and augmentation of basic amenities to ensure improve living standard of common man.  
The Minister was speaking at a pubic grievance redress camp after dedicating   power sub-station to the people  of village Laiter Danga developed at a cost of Rs  Rs 3.35 lakh and provided by him out of  CDF.  
Ajay Nanda said that the Government is focusing on expansion of road connectivity, augmentation of drinking water and power infra and improvement of  education standards in rural areas.
He reviewed the pace of   developmental works taken up under convergence of MGNREGA and   other schemes and took stock of the grievances of the people.
The Minister directed the concerned officers to redress problems of the people on priority. He asked the field functionaries to create awareness among public about the schemes of their departments to enable people of far flung areas to take benefit.  
  Responding to various issues raised by locals, the Minister assured them of early redressal of all genuine demands.

  BDO Harpal Singh, Tehsildar Rajesh Baru, engineers and officers of various departments, former sarpanches and panches besides a large number of people were present on the occasion.

SRINAGAR, JUNE 20: Minister for Revenue, Relief, Rehabilitation and Reconstruction, Abdul Rehman Veeri today stressed the need for augmentation of power distribution network in the state.
The Minister was speaking at a high level review meeting of various schemes of Power Development Department (PDD) of Anantnag district here.
The meeting was also attended by Development Commissioner Power Asghar Ali, Chief Engineer PDD (M&RE) Shahnaz Goni, Sheikh Gul Ayaz Secretary Technical (PDD), Khursheed Ahmed, Nisar Ahmed Khan and Daljeet Singh CE Projects. The meeting was also attended by Xens and AEEs of district Anantnag.
To provide succor from the power cuts in a major way in Bijbehara area, the Minister passed directions for the installation of new 10 MVA transformer at Receiving Station Khiram.
The Minister also impressed on the officers to setup a taskforce of PDD officials equipped with necessary equipments for speedy redressal of grievances regarding power distribution in South Kashmir.
He also asked them to setup a dedicated helpline wherein people can register their grievances and provide it wide publicity in print and electricity media.  
Mr Veeri also asked the officers to ensure uninterrupted power supply is provided on auspicious occasions of Shab-e-Qadr, Jumat-ul-Vida and Eid-ul-Fitr.
He also stressed on the officers to direct field staff to check the condition of transformers in their respective areas regularly.
The Minister impressed on the officers to ensure time bound and early completion of various new schemes and initiatives being taken in the power sector.

The Minister also asked officers to synergize efforts for better transmission and distribution of electricity in their respective areas.

SRINAGAR, JUNE 20: Minister for Information Technology, Technical Education and Youth Services & Sports, Molvi Imran Raza Ansari, Tuesday reviewed the power scenario of Pattan, Gurez and Bandipora.
Ansari who is also Chairman District Development Board, Bandipora chaired a high level meeting attended by Deputy Speaker of J&K Assembly, Nazir Ahmad Gurezi, Commissioner Secretary Finance, Navin Chowdhary, Commissioner Secretary Power, Dheeraj Gupta and various officials of the concerned department.
During the meeting, the Minister asked the officers to gear up their machinery for improving the power supply in rural areas of Pattan and directed for the installations of transformers, electric polls and wires for the proper distribution of power supply in the Pattan constituency.
In order to improve power scenario in Gurez area, the Minister directed the officials of PDD to adhere to the power schedule strictly and asked them to ensure adequate power supply in rural pockets of Gurez area. He also directed the officers for increasing the power supply hours from 5 s to 6 hours in Gurez.

While giving a patient hearing to the grievances of the deputations, Ansari assured that infrastructure in Pattan area would be taken up on priority basis and would be completed within a stipulated time frame.
