REASI, JULY 31: Deputy Commissioner Reasi, Prasanna Ramaswamy G, today attended the certificate distribution ceremony organized by State Bank of India on the conclusion of thirty-day training programme conducted here at Rural Self Employment Training Institute.
After distributing certificates among 21 successful trainees, the DC expressed happiness and urged them to channelize their skills to acquire employment. He asked them to put in use the skills they have learnt during one-month training course to beat the unemployment.
The trainees were also assured sufficient financial support from banks and other bodies to help them establish their own business units.
Pertinently, SBI’s Rural Self Employment Training Institute regularly conducts training courses in the trades like computer operation, beauty parlor, tailoring, electrical fitting, plumbing etc. to help curb unemployment.
Others present on the occasion were Mukesh Bansal, Director of the institute, Anil Thakur, GM DIC, Adarsh Gupta, DDM NABARD and BK Sharma, LDM Reasi.

KULGAM, JULY 17: A meeting was chaired by DDC Kulgam Dr Shameem Ahmad Wani at mini secretariat Kulgam with regard to the implementation of SansadAdarash Gram Youjna (SAGY) for already identified villages of Ashmuji and SangusKahrote of district Kulgam.
District officers from various departments presented a detailed report of works undertaken by their respective departments.  
The ACD who is also the charge officer of SAGY briefed the DDC that 45 works have been identified so far at an estimated cost of 45 Lakhs to develop these villages on modern lines RDD.
CEO briefed the DC that a smart Class room has been established in Ashmuji and additional accommodation faculty has been provided to HSS Ashmuji.
Functional manager DIC informed DC about the training courses offered to the women of Ashmuji to develop SHGs in Ashmuji village. He also added that Kulgam district has four developing industrial estates and Ashmuji site is under development phase.
ACR, ACD, CPO, Exen PHE, CMO, BMO, and other District and sectoral officers were present in the meeting.

KARGIL, JUNE 30: District Information Centre (DIC) Kargil today held a function to bid an affectionate farewell to Screenman Sonaullah of Tehsil Information Centre, Drass, who attained superannuation after serving the Department for the last 39 years.
Assistant Director Information Kargil, Abdul Ahad Bhat, District Information Officer Kargil Ali Mohammad Tak and other staff members were present on the occasion.
The ADI and DIO described Sonaulla as an honest and hardworking employee who always did his work diligently.
The officers and staff of DIC Kargil wished the retiring employee a happy and prosperous post-retirement life. They also highly appreciated the services of Sonaullah which he rendered for the department.
On the occasion, ADI, DIO and other staff Members presented a memento and a Khatak to Sonaullah as a token of appreciation to his services for the department.

KATHUA, JUNE 6: District Development Commissioner   Rohit Khajuria today chaired a meeting of district officers and civil society members to discuss the arrangements for smooth conduct of Shri Amarnath Yatra.
The DC called for making fool proof security arrangements for which Police department was directed to install special nakas, conduct round the clock patrolling and arrange CCTV surveillance at langar sites and other vital locations.
He also called for installing water coolers at Lakhanpur and other water points on national highway. Issues ranging from sanitation, supply of LPG cylinder to langar sites, readiness of fire tender and contingency plan in case of eventuality was also discussed in detail. 
The DDC also emphasized on making adequate arrangements of sanitation, electricity, lodging and other amenities for the Yatirs . He directed the concerned departments to formulate comprehensive plan in advance for providing healthcare, water and accommodation facilities to the pilgrims.
The meeting was informed that suitable sites would be identified in the district for the lodging of yatris with all necessary facilities of drinking water, electricity, toilet and sanitation in case of Yatra halt.
The DDC directed the police and security agencies to work out a foolproof security plan for adequate deployment of personnel at the places identified for establishment of Langars and accommodation of the pilgrims and along the Yatra route.  He also directed for framing traffic management plan with special focus on one time checking procedure so that yatris shall not face any hardship.
A Coordination Committee was also constituted for keeping a check on quality and rates of eatables in the market. The Committee would also coordinate for maintaining hygienic condition and cleanliness at Langar and accommodation sites.
It was decided that a control room would be established at Lakhanpur to synchronize efforts for providing all basic services to the pilgrims.  The meeting further decided to deploy well equipped medical teams at Lakhanpur and langar sites and establishment of facilitation center for the convenience of yatris.
The first batch of pilgrims will be flagged off from Lakhanpur as per the past practice and all the arrangements must be made before hand, DDC directed all the concerned officers.
SSP Shridhar Patil, ADC, ACR, RTO, GM DIC, DC Commercial Taxes, Lakhanpur, Deputy Excise Commissioner, Toll Post, Lakhanpur and other officers attended the meeting.

SRINAGAR, JUNE 06: Senior functionaries and faculty of Central University of Kashmir (CUK) today called on Minister for Higher Education, Technical Education, and Information Technology, Moulvi Imran Raza Ansari and discussed various issues regarding the varsity.
Dean School of Education and Director Skill Development Prof. N.A. Nadeem, Registrar Prof. M. Afzal Zargar, Financial Officer Haji Bashir Ahmad, and Coordinator, Teacher Education and Chairperson Women Empowerment Committee Prof Nighat Basu were among the visiting delegation.
Prof. Nadeem gave a detailed presentation about the Design Innovation Centre, its mode of operation and the coordination needed between Higher Education Department of the State and CUK so that all the programmes are implemented and executed smoothly within the stipulated time.
The Minister was informed that Union Ministry of Human Resource Development has recently sanctioned Design Innovation Centre (DIC) through an open competition along with GTU and IIT Roorkhee with an initial grant of Rs 10 crore to be spent within 2-3 years, which is first of its kind in the State.
The Minister was also briefed about the Skill-based courses already going on in CUK and the process of shifting of CUK to Ganderbal.
On the occasion, Ansari appreciated the efforts of the CUK in addressing the needs of the student community and youth in particular.
He assured cooperation and support for establishing spoke centres of DIC in six-degree colleges including Government Degree College Kargil, Islamia College of Science and Commerce, Srinagar, Degree College Budgam, Degree College Magam, Degree College for Women Anantnag and Baramulla.

KATHUA, MAY 28: A programme based on devotional songs was today organized by the District Information Centre, Kathua here at the Home for the Aged and Infirm.
The artists of Information Department rendered their soulful compositions to the delight of the inmates.
Secretary of the Old Age Home, Jagan Nath was the chief guest on this occasion. 
Devotional songs in Dogri, Punjabi and Hindi were presented by Joginder Kumar, Vikram Charbathia, Lovely, Sindhu, Ramesh Lal and Rishi Kapoor, which were applauded and enjoyed by the audience.
Speaking on the occasion, Secretary of the Old Age Home welcomed and thanked the Information Department for organizing the programmes for the inmates and appealed to hold more such events. He also expressed gratitude to the singers for their performances.

ANANTNAG, MAY 18:  Deputy Commissioner Anantnag, Mohammad Younis Malik, today convened a meeting to finalize the arrangements for smooth conduct of third phase of Service Selection Board examinations scheduled to be held on May 20 in the district.
The meeting was informed that adequate seating and other arrangements have been made for the candidates appearing in the examination for the post of General Line Teachers in all the 29 centers in the district. It was said that the head of the institution and a magistrate from the district administration have been designated as observers for joint monitoring at exam centers set up in the district.
The meeting was also informed that Section 144 will remain imposed in and around all the examination centers on the date of the exam.
The DDC instructed the concerned officers to ensure smooth and fair holding of exams across the district, stressing that all centers must have adequate arrangements put in place for aspirants taking the exam.
The meeting was attended by ADC Anantnag, ACR Anantnag, Member SSB, General Manager DIC Anantnag, SDMs, Tehsildars besides ZEOs and principals of higher secondary schools.

 SAMBA, AUGUST 30:  The District Information Centre today organized a general awareness programme at Jatwal in collaboration with ICDS project Ghagwal.
Child Development Project Officer, Ghagwal, Ajay Sharma was the chief guest at the programme which was attended by supervisors, ICDS beneficiaries, Anganwari Workers (AWWs) and members from local community.

The participants were apprised about the importance of financial inclusion and digital economy in today’s world.  On the occasion, cultural programs were presented by ‘New Sargam Cultural Group’ on these themes which were appreciated by all. The participants urged the department to organize similar programmes at the grassroots level for the awareness of general masses.

RAMBAN, AUGUST 29: District Information Centre (DIC) Ramban organized a multilingual Mushaira   at Government High Secondary School (GHSS) Gool.
Writer and editor Sight and Sound, newspaper,  Advocate Gulam Mohammad Shan presided over the function, while principal GHSS Gool Nana Ji Tiku was the guest of honour.
 The literary event was attended by a large number of civil society members, students and members of print and electronic media. Ex MLA and veteran leader of area Abdul Wahid Shan also attended the Mushaira.
          Prominent   poets of Gool, Gulabgarh, Mahore, Sungari, Sangaldan and other places including  Hajra Begum Parvaz, Naseem Gulabgari, Sajad Ahmed Sajad, Abdul Wajiad Goolvi, Abdul Gani Shan and others recited their poems .

 Some young poets   also presented their poetry which was appreciated by the audience present on the occasion.
