SRINAGAR, JUNE 23: Srinagar district administration today imposing prohibitory restrictions under Section 144 CrPc within a radius of 200 meters around all sixteen examination centres established for examination for the post of Sub Inspector in J&K Police to be held on 24 June 2018.
The restrictions are aimed at ensuring free and fair conduct of the exam. These will remain in force until the end of the examination.

Srinagar, May 11: Curfew-like restrictions were imposed in downtown Srinagar following protest call by separatists against civilian deaths in security force action in the Kashmir valley.
The main gates of historic Jamia Masjid, stronghold of moderate Hurriyat Conference (HC) Mirwaiz Moulvi Omar Farooq, were also closed as a precautionary measure to prevent any demonstrations after prayers.
Situation elsewhere in the restriction free-areas was normal with vehicles plying normally and shops opened. However, shopkeepers residing in the downtown could not make it to their shops due to restriction in their areas.
Police said restrictions under Section 144 CrPC have been imposed in the areas falling under five stations-- M R Gunj, Khanyar, Safa Kadal, Rainwari and Nowhatta-- since this morning to maintain law and order. 
All roads leading to worship place were closed with barbed wire at several places, including Rangar stop, Hawal and Gojwara and by parking bulletproof vehicles in the middle. Security forces and police could also be seen deployed in the Jamia market. 
The entire Nallahmar road wore a deserted look with only security forces and state police personnel, wearing bulletproof jackets and leg-guards and holding automatic weapons and lathis in their hands, implementing restrictions. 
Security forces had closed the road at Nawa Kadal, Rajouri Kadal, Gojwara, Malaratta, Bohri Kadal and Khanyar with barbed wire. Bulletproof vehicles were also deployed on bylanes to prevent any movement. 
People living on both sides of the Nallahmar alleged that they were not being allowed to move out of their houses by the security forces. Even the local bread makers could not open their shops, while milkmen and vegetable vendors could not come from outskirts.
However, the main road to S K Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS) via Eidgah was open only for patients and para medical staff.
Similar restrictions have also been imposed in Khanyar, Rainawari and Malkha. However, the people were being allowed to go to Jawahar Lal Nehru Memorial (JLNM) hospital, Rainawari. 
Large number of paramilitary forces and state police personnel have been deployed to maintain law and order in areas under police station Kralhud in the old town and Maisuma. 
Unprecedented security arrangements have been made on Moulana Azad road, being used by VIPs, including Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti and her cabinet colleague to reach Civil Secretariat, seat of the government.
Additional security forces have also been deployed in the uptown, particularly near Bakshi stadium and adjoining area, where the Chief Minister will inaugurate the first phase of Jehangir Chowk-Rambagh fly over today.
The Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL), comprising Syed Ali Shah Geelani, Mirwaiz Omar and Malik has urged people to hold peaceful demonstrations after Friday prayers in their respective areas against the recent killings in the valley. UNI

 BANDIPORA, APRIL 27: District Magistrate Bandipora, Khursheed Ahmad Sanai, today ordered imposition of prohibitory orders under Section 144 CrPC within the 200-meter radius of all examination centers set up for the J&K Services Selection Board examination on April 29, 2018.
        The prohibitory orders have been issued in order to curb the tendency of external interference and to prevent breach of peace besides maintaining public tranquility around the examination centers.
      No person other than examinees, supervisory staff and security personnel is allowed to enter the 200 meter radius of examination centers.

          SRINAGAR, MARCH 02: District Administration Srinagar today issued magisterial orders imposing prohibitory restrictions under Section 144 CrPc within a radius of 200 meters around examination centres of the district for smooth conduct of bi-annual secondary school (10th) examinations.
          The order shall come into force from March 6, 2018, and will remain in force till examinations are over.

Srinagar, Feb 2: Curfew-like restrictions have been imposed on Friday in the Shehar-e-Khas (SeK), downtown and parts of old city and civil lines in summer capital, Srinagar to prevent any law and order problem following “ Shopian Chalo” called by separatists against the civilian killings in security force firing in south Kashmir.
All main gates of historic Jamia Masjid, stronghold of moderate Hurriyat Conference (HC) chairman Mirwaiz Moulvi Omar Farooq, were again closed. Large number of security forces and state police personnel had been deployed outside the historic worship place. 
The Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL), comprising separatists Syed Ali Shah Geelani, Mirwaiz Omar and Yasin Malik, has given Shopian challo to offer Friday prayers in a Jamia Masjid there before holding a rally against the civilian death. However, Mr Geelani and the Mirwaiz are already under house arrest while Mr Malik has gone underground to evade arrest.
Police said restrictions under Section 144 CrPC have been imposed within the territorial jurisdictions of Khanyar, Rainawari, Nowhatta, Safakadal and MR Gunj police stations of the district on Friday.'Partial restrictions within the territorial jurisdictions of Maisuma in the civil lines and Kralkhud in the old city police stations of the district have also been imposed since this morning,'. The restrictions have been imposed as a precautionary measure to avoid any untoward incident, police said.
However, situation on the ground was entirely different as people in restricted areas were being directed to remain indoors as curfew has been imposed since early this morning. The road to S K Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS) passing through downtown areas of Nawa Kadal, Safa Kadal and Eidgah was however, open though only patients and paramedical staff and ambulances were being allowed after their property checking. 
Initially there were no restrictions in the morning though security forces and state police personnel have been deployed to prevent any untoward incident since early this morning. 
However, as the day progressed all main and interior roads were closed with barbed wire and by parking bullet proof vehicles in the middle to prevent any pedestrian and vehicular movement. UNI

            SRINAGAR, OCTOBER 31: District Administration Srinagar today issued magisterial orders imposing prohibitory restrictions under Section 144 CrPc within a radius of 200 meters around examination centres of the district for smooth conduct of annual regular secondary and higher secondary school examinations.
It was said that the move is aimed at to ensure free and fair conduct of the exams and shall remain in force till the examination is over.      However, examinees, supervisory staff, and security personnel deployed for conducting the examinations shall be exempted from the operation of the orders.

Tehsildars North, South, Shalteng, Khanyar and Eidgah and concerned Naib Tehsildars have been designated as magistrates and checking squads respectively to ensure smooth conduct of the exams in their respective jurisdictions.

            KULGAM, OCTOBER 30:     Following the publication of the examination calendar for the HSS-II and SSE of 10th and 12th classes (Annual Regular), 2017 in the valley with effect from 01 November 2017, the District Magistrate Kulgam and District Magistrate Kupwara today issued orders imposing restrictions under Sec 144 of CrPC around a radius of 200 metres from the examination centres.
          These instructions were imposed to prevent any obstruction and to ensure the smooth conduct of the examinations. 
 The restrictions are imposed on assembly of five or more persons outside all the examination centers within the radius of 200 metres. 
          These prohibitory restrictions shall remain in force till the conclusion of the examinations.

          Meanwhile, the District Police in respective districts have been instructed to implement the instructions in letter and spirit. Besides, all the Tehsildars & Naib Tehsildars have been designated as Magistrates in their respective jurisdictions.

          ANANTNAG, OCTOBER 28: District Magistrate Anantnag, Mohammad Younis Malik has issued prohibitory restrictions under Sec 144 of Cr.PC around a radius of 200 metres around the examination centres. These restrictions have been imposed in light of commencement of Secondary and Higher Secondary School examinations w. e. f 1st of November, 2017 .

          The SSP Anantnag and Kulgam were directed to ensure the directions in letter and spirit and to deploy adequate personals around the examination centers during examination days. Meanwhile, all the Tehsildars and Naib Tehsildars have been designated as magistrates in their respective areas of jurisdictions.

BANDIPORA, OCTOBER 24: In view of the examination for SSE (10th class) and HSE-ll (12th class) session Annual /regular 2017 scheduled to be held w.e.f 01-11-2107 and 02-11-2017 respectively, District Magistrate Bandipora has ordered imposition of section 144CrPC around a radius of 200 metres of all examination centres in the district.
      As per order, only the examinees, supervisory staff, security force personnel deployed for examination duty and the authorities connected shall be allowed to enter these examination centres.

BUDGAM, OCTOBER 23: The District Magistrate Budgam today issued an order to impose restrictions under section-144 CrPC in and around the examination centers for the forth-coming 10th and 12thexaminations.

In order to ensure smooth conduct of the forth-coming Secondary School (class-10th) examination annual regular from November- 2 and Secondary Part-II (class 12th) examination annual regular fromNovember 1 and, it is hereby ordered that the restrictions under section 144 CrPC shall remain imposed within a radius of 100 meters in and around the examination centers of district till culmination of the examination.

UDHAMPUR, OCTOBER 23: For smooth and fair conduct of annual  examination to be  conducted  by  J& K State Board of School Education for Higher Secondary Examination Part –II ( 12th  class)  and Secondary School Examination (10th class) commencing  from 26th October 2017, at various centers in the district, District Magistrate, Ravinder Kumar,  today imposed restrictions under Section 144 CrPC on the general public for not entering or gathering within a radius of two hundred meter from the examination centers.
Besides, restrictions have also been imposed on the use of loudspeakers within a radius of 200 m from the venue of the examination. The restrictions would be imposed around all the examination centers and shall remain in force till conclusion of the said examination.

The roll number slip issued by the J&K board to the students shall be treated as entry pass for the examination.

Kaithal, Aug 22 : Prohibitory orders have been imposed by District Magistrate Sunita Verma in this district of Haryana to maintain peace and tranquility on account of the decision in Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh’s case by CBI court in Panchkula on August 25. Ms Verma prohibited the assembly of five or more persons in all parts of the district except on specified places and also selling of loose petroleum products except to vehicles under section 144 of CrPC . Under these orders, assembly of five or more persons near passages, railway tracks, water channel, power houses and blocking of roads, indulging in unlawful activities, carrying of any weapon like firearms, sword, knives and other weapons of offence have been prohibited. The ban orders on selling petroleum products have been imposed apprehending use of these petroleum products as weapon or for burning properties, All the license holders of the district under Arms Act 1959 have been directed to deposit their firearms and ammunition with there respective police stations or with the nearest fire arms dealers up to August 23. Meanwhile, all roads leading to historic Lal Chowk, the nerve centre of the summer capital, which were closed with barbed wire on August 14 night to prevent people from entering the area, are open today. Restrictions under Section 144 CrPC were imposed as a precautionary measure in the areas falling under five police stations of Nowhatta, M R Gunj, Safa Kadal, Khanyar and Khanyar in the downtown and SeK on August 14 morning to prevent any demonstration on Pakistan Independence Day. It continued yesterday when both the factions of the Hurriyat Conference (HC) and Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF), spearheading the agitation, demanding right to self determination, have called for a general strike. All road blocks put up in the downtown and SeK have been lifted and traffic was plying on all routes normally today. Srinagar, Aug 14 : Curfew-like restrictions are back today after day-long normalcy yesterday in Shehar-e-Khas (SeK) and downtown in Srinagar, where people remained indoor due to heavy security force and police deployment to prevent any law and order problem. Authorities had imposed similar restrictions on August 12 when separatists, backed by trader groups, had called for a strike against alleged attempts to abrogate Article 35-A. There were no restrictions yesterday in any part of the city. Both the factions of Hurriyat Conference (HC) and Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) urged people to observe a strike today against alleged attempts being made to abrogate Article 35-A of the Constitution. The strike was backed by many trader groups, including Kashmir Economic Alliance (KEA) and Kashmir Traders and Manufacturers Federation (KTMF). There was no strike call from any organizations today. However, separatists had called for a strike tomorrow, on the 7Ist Independence Day (ID) of the country. The authorities had apprehension of violence following the killing of two youths in alleged security force firing last evening in south Kashmir, where three Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) militants, including a self styled top commander, were killed in an encounter. Two army personnel were also killed and three others, including an officer, were injured in the encounter which ended yesterday. Officials said that restrictions under Section 144 CrPC have been imposed as a precautionary measure in areas falling under five police stations of Nowhatta, M R Gunj, Safa Kadal, Khanyar and Khanyar in the down town and SeK since early this morning. However, the situation was entirely different on the ground as people alleged that they were not being allowed to move out of their houses since early this morning. State police personnel and security forces, wearing bulletproof jackets, helmets and holding automatic weapons in their hands, were deployed in these areas to strictly implement the restrictions. All gates of historic Jamia Masjid, stronghold of chairman of moderate Hurriyat Conference (HC) Mirwaiz Moulvi Umar Farooq, who remain under house arrest since last about two months, were also closed and a large number of security forces and state police personnel remained deployed in the area. Nobody was being allowed to enter the Jamia Masjid area by the security forces. The entire Nallahmar road from Khanyar to Qamarwari was closed with barbed wires and no one was allowed to move on the road. Main and link roads were closed with barbed wire and by parking bullet proof vehicles in the middle. People of these areas alleged that milkmen and vegetable vendors were not allowed to enter from outskirts by the security forces due to which they had to drink black tea. However, the Safa Kadal road to S K Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS) through Eidgah was open though only patients and ambulances were being allowed after checking their documents. Officials told that restrictions under Section 144 of CrPC have been imposed under the jurisdictions of Police Stations Nowhatta, M R Gunj, Rainawari, Khanyar and Safakadal in the down town and SeK, besides Kralkhud in the old city and Maisuma in Civil Lines in Srinagar district as a precautionary measure to avoid any untoward incident. However, the situation on the ground was entirely different as security forces have closed majority of roads with barbed wire and people were being directed to remain indoors. The main gates of historic Jamia Masjid, stronghold of moderate HC Mirwaiz Moulvi Omar Farooq, have again been closed. Hundreds of security forces and state police personnel, wearing bullet proof jackets and holding automatic weapons, have been deployed outside the historic Masjid, where no Friday prayers could be offered due to restrictions for the past about seven weeks. A large number of security forces were also deployed in the Jamia market and nobody was allowed to enter the area. The main Nallahmar road from Parimpora to Khanyar has also been closed with barbed wire at several places. Security forces have established 'nakas' in majority areas in downtown and SeK, including at Rajouri Kadal, Nawa Kadal, Rangar Stop, Nowhatta and Zaina Kadal to prevent any traffic or pedestrian movement. Srinagar, Aug 2: Business and other activities came to halt in the Kashmir valley, where separatists had called for general strike today in protest against the death of two civilians in security force firing on demonstrators at Pulwama, where two Lashker-e-Toiba (LeT), including wanted Pakistan resident commander Abu Dujana, were killed in an encounter. Though authorities had announced imposition of Restrictions under Section 144 CrPC in the areas under the jurisdiction of seven police stations, additional security forces and state police personnel had been deployed across the Kashmir valley to prevent any law and order problem. Both the factions of the Hurriyat Conference (HC) and Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF), spearheading the agitation, demanding right to self determination, have called for a general strike against the civilian killing and injuries yesterday. Shops and business establishments remained closed in the main business hubs in the restriction-free areas in Srinagar and its outskirts, including historic Lal Chowk, the nerve centre of the city and nearby Budshah Chowk. Traffic was also off the roads though some private vehicles besides three-wheelers and cabs could be seen plying on several routes, including uptown, where business and other activities also remained shut. Reports of complete shut down were also received from main town and other tehsil headquarters in south Kashmir, where business activities remained closed since yesterday immediately after reports about the militant killing were received. Streets almost wore a deserted look with only security force and state police personnel remained deployed to maintain law and order. However, the report said that there were clashes between demonstrators and security forces Gabarpora Pulwama after the burial of civilian Akeel who succumbed to his injuries in a hospital this morning. A report from Baramulla said that strike crippled life in this and other major towns and tehsil headquarters in north Kashmir with shops and business establishments remained closed and traffic off the roads. Similar reports were also received from central Kashmir district of Badgam and Ganderbal.           KULGAM, JUNE 28:         In view of the examinations for 10th and 12th classes (private), 2016 the District Magistrate, Kulgam has issued orders for imposing restrictions under Sec 144 of CrPC around a radius of 200 meters from the examination centres for smooth conduct of the examinations.

          The exams are being conducted in the valley with effect from July 06 to July 31 2017. These instructions have been imposed to prevent any obstruction and to ensure the smooth conduct of the examinations.

These prohibitory restrictions shall remain in force until the conclusion of the examinations. Meanwhile, the District Police has been instructed to implement the instructions in letter and spirit.
